The Lowlands Warrior team has decided to start releasing Alpha stage mods in order to get more feedback on the content and maybe encourage more modders to join the team History Back in the early 2000's LLW started as a mod for the original Rainbow Six series, creating a large arsenal of NL Army/Marines weapons. Shortly afterwards they started creating content for Operations:Flashpoint (aka Arma: Cold War Assault) They released a large pack with terrains, vehicles, aircraft, weapons and units which what THE only dutch armed forces mod around at the time. Current plan The LLW team is not as big as in the old days. Many have stopped modding. Although, those who still have a bit of spare time dream about doing what was done before, this time in Arma 3.   3. IceBreakr presents: Southeast Angola 1974 Latest version: v1.1 (Aug 15, 2018) Terrain: 10240x10240 meters / HD Island has been created in honor of Recce 1 Commando Lt. Freddie Zeelie that died in combat operation in 1974. Island is set to year 1974 when South Africa's 1 Recce Commando Unit operated from FOBs in the North Namibia. The South African "Recces" were deployed to many local hot spots during the late 1970s and early 1980s, particularly Angola. Namibia-Angola border had no fence at that time, only visible cutout grass (line) about 1/4 down from the North tip of the map. There is only one FOB in central South region with an operational airstrip. Back in 1974 most of the land has been without any roads and permanent settlements, so we try to simulate that harsh environment in this map. But I've added some roads for AI to somehow cope with the harsh terrain. Map is dedicated to heroes of the war and used by South African SF soldiers that also enjoy Arma 3. The 22nd JSOC Realism Unit was founded in January of 2018 by a group of veteran ArmA Realism members who felt like they could create an environment that was reliable, trustworthy, and friendly. The primary focus of the 22nd is on utilizing real to life tactics, techniques, protocol, and communication, while keeping it fun and friendly at the same time. We have Detachments anywhere from Infantry, Rotary, Fixed-Wing, PJ's, CIA, Armoured, and more! At its core, a realism unit is a role-playing unit. We strive to promote an immersive and professional environment for members to role-play in by providing a unique and structured military experience. When in-game, members are expected to act as if they are on a foreign battlefield or in a domestic training environment. For these reasons, the minimum age to join the 22nd is 17 years old, with a probationary period for those younger. The goal of the unit is to always balance the realism with fun. If members are not enjoying the experience, then there is no point in the unit existing. When there comes a point at which a decision between the two has to be made, we always have to remember that this is a game and we are here for entertainment, and we may from time to time err on the side of fun. ZEUS: We have active storytellers and mission planners to put together full missions from scratch. RKSL Studios presents the WK450 Watchkeeper 450 Remotely Piloted Air System. The Watchkeeper WK450 is a Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS) for all weather, intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) use by the British Army. It has a mass of 450 kg, a typical endurance of 17 hours, a payload capacity of 150 kg and uses a rotary Wankel engine. It can operate up to 150 km from the Ground Control Station (although multiple stations can be linked to extend the range). It was originally intended to enter service in June 2010, but years of delays, technical issues, hardware modifications, difficulties in training sufficient pilots and incidents means that it is not expected to be fully operational until late 2017.   10. The road to Lolosalam is heavily mined. In order to restore access for our forces and build rapport with the local populace we have initiated a clearing operation. As an EOD specialist you will be attached to the lead element. Your job is to clear mines when requested to do so in order to facilitate mission fulfillment. Following this mission you will spend the night in the hills surrounding Lolosalam. In the morning you will RTB. Your callsign will be 'Keymaster'. You will be attached to a small fireteam codenamed 'Seeker'. Following you will be two rifle squads codenamed 'Reaper' and 'Slayer' respectively. Headquarters callsign is 'Crossroads'. This is a very basic mission with very little scripting, but it feels really good and almost like you're really on a deployment. You (and up to 3 of your friends) are EOD specialists in the United States Army and are attached to a fireteam which will lead and assist you. You need to move in a convoy of 3 MRAPs to the city of Lolosalam, securing the path along the way for more troops to follow in your wake. You ride in the front MRAP while the two MRAPs following behind you contain regular U.S. Army rifle squads to support the ultimate Lolosalam objective. You start at the base by an arsenal box. Get whatever gear you need out of there and then go to the front of the base and get in the lead MRAP. Don't worry about the fireteam leader bitching at you over the radio, they will never leave without you because they need you. All you have to do is concentrate on your job. The AI will (should) do their job without you having to babysit them. They will order you from time to time to defuse or destroy an IED blocking the path of the vehicles. After you're satisfied that the area is safe get back in the MRAP and the convoy will start moving again. If you ever come under fire or are attacked simply retreat to the MRAP and re-assess the situation. If you have to clear a path of IEDs while under fire it is easiest to simply detonate them with an explosive charge. The front MRAP has a decent supply of these explosive charges for dealing with the IEDs. Be careful because some IEDs are dual-charges and are designed to kill EOD. This usually takes the form of an anti-personnel landmine placed on top of or near the main IED. Use your eyeballs and be cautious. This mission starts out very slow and boring because not much happens at first. There are long periods of driving through the mountains looking at the sights and listening to music, but the Taliban are always watching you. If you look closely in the hills you may see them planning your future demise. As you get closer to Lolosalam, that dreaded city, more and more activity will start popping up. Your troops should deal with the enemy most of the time (as long as they can find/see them) and will even call in air support to help level the playing field. This all plays out over sidechat radio. To actually win the mission and end the game you just have to clear the way and let the two rifle squads do their patrol around Lolosalam. They will inform you of further developments. No Taliban can be in or near Lolosalam. You can make the Taliban retreat without having to hunt down and kill every last one. If they feel like they're getting fucked up they'll run into the hills to regroup, just like real life. This mission can be completed without taking a single U.S. casualty, but one wrong move can also instantly take the lives of about 40 people. Possible glitches/bugs you may encounter: - Vehicles falling off mountains - A-10's crashing during CAS runs - No lag during most of the mission but a lot of lag inside of Lolosalam Top two are caused because of the nature of the map Clafghan and its extremely steep slopes. I did everything I could to kind of code around it though, so it should be okay most of the time. The last one is simply in regards to your CPU and possibly RAM. I've had two people play this same exact mission and one had 120 FPS the whole game, the other had 120 FPS and then about 15 FPS once they entered Lolosalam. A dedicated server and headless clients will mitigate this issue. Let me know if you run into any problems. Note: Default view distance is 4500 for gameplay purposes. This seems to be okay for most people. If you need to turn it down the host or any logged in admin should be able to access the debug menu in-game in multiplayer. Simply type "setviewdistance NUMBER;setobjectviewdistance NUMBER" and hit global exec or something and it should change it for everyone. And the only banned weapons are AK or Chinese styled weapons i.e AK-47, AKSU-74, QBZ-95 ect. IR strobes are required during night operations and so are black uniforms and gear. We will have the basic roles for combat such as: Rifleman, Grenadier, Heavy Gunner, Engineer,Ant Air Specialist, Anti Tank Specialist, Sniper and Medic.   13. Hey everyone! It is time for me to show you my truck, M35A2 Kaiser-Jeep, 1964 issue. Since we don't have any commuity made G742 (M34/M35/M36), I've decided to create a common framework for these vehicles and gradually develop their options. This truck was the workhorse of the US Army in the mid to late 90s and had several different modifications for the M35 truck only. I'm not talking about other options M35 series family (tanker, remotly truck, water carrier and others) that also had a lot of modifications. At the moment, it is suitable for many scenarios, the Vietnam War, the escalation of the conflict in Panama, Operation "Desert Storm", the invasion of Iraq in 2003, and almost everywhere the American soldier's foot came. The truck had several incarnations and configurations and was produced by several different manufacturers. More screens: I am currently planning 3 different eras/versions of the M35: War in Vietnam: M35A2 with metal roofed driver compartment with/without tarp, tarp roof driver compartment with/without tarp, without a roof with the possibility of lowering the front glass, option with a M2 .50cal machine gun on the M36 Ring Mount. Well, the famous guntrucks, with the reservation and with different weapons, from the dual machine guns M2, dual M60 to minigun. Also, a low-armored dumbbell with a quarter-machine gun M2 - M55 is planned. Anything I can find documented of Vietnam War gun trucks from the various branches. The consequence of the Vietnam war 70s-80s: more of the same but with different camo, U.S. army, for different divisions and other operators from other countries. 90s and present: M35A2 with metal roof with/without tarp, with a rag roof with awning / without an awning and various gantraks on its base, for armies still expropriating M35A2 (Israil, Georgia, Venezuela, Philippines, Kongo, Iraq and others), as well as trucks of any insurgents (African, South American, Thai rebels and others, to countries that were supplied by the M35), terrorists (Taliban, the Islamic state (I saw a couple of M35 taken from the Iraqi army in Syria and Iraq, several more captured in the Philippines by local terrorists from ISIS and etc), Somali terrorists of the 90s and the present and others) You may suggest any liveries or nations + other ideas and variations and I may implement them if I like them. Also, would like to make different variants of the M35, many were made, such as M36 (with stretch), M49 (gasoline tank), the M50 (the water carrier), M109 (Shop Van), M60 (light wrecker), М59 (Dump), as well as other options (M34, M44, M45, M46, M48, М108, М257 and many others). Hello, I'm in a unit called 1st Princess of Wales Royal Regiment or 1PWRR for simple... basically we're a British Army based mechanised milsim unit and we just started actually, some previous members of 4th Infantry Brigade and we're open for recruitment right now. OPs and trainings will be on Thursdays and Sundays for now, but we will also have some WW2 unofficial missions on other days. The North Atlantic Expeditionary Force Strong Alone, Stronger Together Introduction The North Atlantic Expeditionary Force is a fictional unit, depicting a permanent and independent military under NATO. With this, we see it fit to vary the equipment used by the Unit from operation to operation, allowing for a varying experience in each of our campaigns. Campaigns consist of story-driven experiences; with realistic military briefings, multiple objectives and varying squad setups. Members that are not in active leadership positions are able to select different roles during each operation (subject to training and competency), to allow for a varying and challenging experience for all. Training will be supplied from basic, up to and including specialisation or leadership trainings. Training & Operation Every Saturday we will have a main/campaign operation where every member is expected to participate in. Being capable of selecting various roles instead of forced in a locked position we thing may increase the fun experience in a actual Arma 3 Milsim unit. All Operations will have a dedicated Zeus team that will oversee the operation progress and communicate between the members/zeus team to increase effectiveness and realism into our operations. Every Sunday we will have a training mission ready for all members that wish to specialise in a certain role or complete their cadet/soldier training. In every training mission we make sure that our members know the basics of being a soldier in our unit. Explaining several subjects and discussions amongst cadets we ensure that communication between eachother is vital. Hierarchy & Structure In every unit we must of course utilise a military ranking system, as most units just generally pick their countries hierarchy, we chose to make our own one, a combination of ranks between countries we see this fit because of our unit's theme. We also utilise multiple components inside the unit, ranging from armoured warfare, Air Combat, Infantry Elements, Long Range weaponry and Support Units, combining all these elements will surely create a ultimate experience of realistic combat.   16. 13TH JOINT TASK FORCE The 13th Joint Task Force is an Armed Assault III realism unit that was formed in June of 2017. The 13th JTF replicates an combined US Special Operations Task Force consisting of the most elite warriors in the world. The 13th JTF was formed under the ideals that no member is valued above the other. Members from the 13th come from all over the Armaverse, which gives us an immensely diverse background. A good amount of members within the 13th are either prior or active duty military service members, giving us access to military insight and real world tactics to utilize in game. Most of us have been in many units prior, so we have a proficient grasp on what the line between realism and fun is. The 25th Special Operations Wing directly supports our assets on the ground. the 25th SOW and AFSOC provide the 13th JTF with Close Airsupport, Combat Air Patrol as well as ground support operations such as CCT/TACP/Para Rescue Personnel.   17. Malden Defense Forces Malden Defence Forces is a Faction modification for Arma 3. This project will attempt to add a realistic armed force to protect the island of Malden realised in the free DLC; Malden 2035. Alex and I plan for this to be our first co-production to allow us both to improve our skill set. Malden Defence Force, AKA MDF, will be a strong military force able to defend itself and the islands within its maritime borders. The MDF will have a Maritime Guard, an Army and an Air Force. With our first release slated to come out just before or a short time after the release of Malden 2035 DLC it will only include simple stand in representations and a custom camouflage and branch. Follow on updates will include the fleshing out of each branch of the military and special operations units for each branch. This will include new weapons made by Zeealex and possibility of new vehicles as well. After the conflict on Malden between the Soviet separatists and the American Forces subsided 1985 leaving Malden in an impoverished and diminished state. The elected officials deemed it necessary for the country to have a standing Defense Force to avoid the events of the flash-point conflict of 1985 repeating themselves. As the nation expanded its economic power through its resources like fish and creation of luxury goods such as wine. The military grew with it to allow for proper protection of its newly exploited assets. This led to several arms companies to get involved including Robertsen Waffenfabarik GmbH Limited which actively pushed forward weapons development projects for the Malden Defence forces, which included it first mass produced weapon system, the CWS68, entering into mass production in 2022 and issued to troops of the Malden Army in the following year. Development Note: The staged release is subject to change as the project progresses Stage 1. -Initial Proof of Concept - Creation of Faction with light role Infantry and Reconnaissance units. - Creation of a unique woodland camouflage suited for Malden's climate using images from Malden's terrain. - Creating suitable stand in equipment for the units mentioned above to be replaced later with unique equipment.
