  1. African foliage for ArmA II Latest version: v1.23 This addon contains 34 usable models that can be used too create a vast desert, savanna or jungle. The addon was previously released for ArmA in a un-finished state but now I have ported it over to ArmA II and completed all models that were in prior releases. I want to thank Icebreakr for testing the foliage on his nice Isla Duala. But also check out these beautiful islands: Download v1.23 ---> Click me! Version 1.20 - outdated! mirrors: Mirror #1 @ ArmA.info Mirror #2 @ ArmA2Base.de Mirror # 3 @ ArmAholic.com Some more: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b120/Berghoff/Africa2/bush.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b120/Berghoff/Africa2/datepalm.jpg Full list of models included: Since this will be my last foliage related add-on I want to thank all the users on this forum who supported me from the very beginning of my little adventure. Looking back I came a long way but now I must put the tree carving tools to rest finally. I just don't find the time nor motivation anymore these days and looking at the quality of the foliage these days It doesn't matter anymore. Now I can actually focus on playing games =). Have a nice safari and/or fun designing terrains! :D
  2. IceBreakr presents: Southeast Angola 1974 Latest version: v1.1 (Aug 15, 2018) Terrain: 10240x10240 meters / HD Island has been created in honor of Recce 1 Commando Lt. Freddie Zeelie that died in combat operation in 1974. Island is set to year 1974 when South Africa's 1 Recce Commando Unit operated from FOBs in the North Namibia. The South African "Recces" were deployed to many local hot spots during the late 1970s and early 1980s, particularly Angola. Namibia-Angola border had no fence at that time, only visible cutout grass (line) about 1/4 down from the North tip of the map. There is only one FOB in central South region with an operational airstrip. Back in 1974 most of the land has been without any roads and permanent settlements, so we try to simulate that harsh environment in this map. But I've added some roads for AI to somehow cope with the harsh terrain. Map is dedicated to heroes of the war and used by South African SF soldiers that also enjoy Arma 3. And hopefully rest of you, too ;) Screenshots: Media: 1. 3. BACKGROUND: It is in the French colony of Oubangui-Chari , that on October 5, 1910, is instituted the constituency of Kandjia-Kouango, with Bambari for chief town. July 31, 1912, it becomes constituency of Kouango, then in 1918 it takes the name banda of Ouaka. In July 1918 , the colonial administrator Félix Éboué was stationed in Bambari, he ran the district for three years until July 1921 2 . The administrative reform of November 15, 1934, establishes the vast Department of Oubangui-Ouaka which includes Mobaye , Fort-Sibut and Fort-Crampel . After the second world war, October 16, 1946, the region of Ouaka-Kotto is created of which Bambari remains the chief town. In 1950 , the region of Ouaka-Kotto is divided in two: between most of the region which becomes Ouaka and the south-west part which becomes the region of Lower Kotto with Mobaye as its capital . The region of Ouaka becomes the prefecture of Ouaka after independence. CURRENT TIMES: Ouaka is nowdays the center of the armed crisis in CAR (Central African Republic), the region is much rich like the rest of the country. Hundreds of peoples have left their homes because of the ongoing conflict. PROJECT: The map don't recreate 100% off the region, some places are ficticional or have something altered for gameplay purposes. The map is 67.1 km². PICTURES:
  4. Somewhat new player here. I am a South African player that has to play on EU servers (About 200-250 ms ping) because of the lack of official servers in South Africa. Now there is actually four servers in South Africa, but they aren't official, which gives the South African playerbase very little incentive to actually play there. So what I was wondering is if there is any possibility for one or two official servers in South Africa. Seeing as the South African community is still fairly small only one or two servers would be sufficient.
  5. About a year ago (and a few months) I started working on a terrain that was supposed to be an african terrain with a somewhat mixed geography (savannas, swamps, some mountains etc.). Unfortunately, due to a lack of time and energy (lots of other things going on and terrain-making is very time consuming) I've been forced to realize I won't finish the project (after not working on it since sometime this spring if I remember correctly), now, I don't want all the work I did to go to waste, and I'd love to see the map finished, so I figured I'd put the word out there if anyone wants to continue the work. So far I set up a basic satmap and heightmap and had started to add more detail to the terrain in some areas using L3DT (mostly around a long ridgeline in the center of the map and some areas way down south), but more work on the heightmap is required if the map is going to look good/be interesting to play on (it's far too smooth in most areas now, and a lot of the dry riverbeds don't look too good). I was also planning a very large swamp in an area along the river which looks ugly right now but with some more work on both heightmap and satmap could probably look good. Anyway, the folder with all the source-files and the work so far is around 8gb so I'd probably need to set up a torrent for anyone who wants to continue the work, if anyone is interested let me know. You can either just use the existing work to create a map of your own ideas (the terrain is very versatile and could probably be used for various settings as long as it's somewhere with a few deserts), I can also share some of my ideas about how certain areas would look like etc. For anyone who wants to take a look I uploaded a working version of the map, of course it's far from finished but at least you can fly around and have a look of the general feel and satmap etc. https://drive.google.com/file/d/15AQM01pZ9ZUKFpBPgdEqXqavt6vzoWkT/view (download in the top right corner). Anyway, here are some screenshots of the terrain: https://imgur.com/a/mP6M4
