  1. 4th Marine Raider Battalion Realism Unit The 4th Marine Raider Battalion Realism Unit, aka 4th MRB, is a realism unit in the Arma 3 community. We simulate a fictional unit within the Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The 4th MRB is structured and organized identical to a real life MARSOC battalion, with attached supporting USSOCOM units. The 4th MRB was founded by long-serving members of a different Arma 3 realism unit which emulates another real life United States Marine Corps Unit. The 4th MRB attempts to maintain the discipline, professionalism, and esprit de corps of real US Marine special operators. The fun and excitement members of this unit enjoy is the result of the difficult and challenging operations we are asked to perform and in developing skills and unique tactics commonly practiced by special operators within the special operations community. These typically include (though are not limited to) direct action missions, special reconnaissance, foreign internal defense, counter-insurgency, unconventional warfare, maritime interdiction, counter-narco terrorism, hostage rescue, preparation of the environment, security force assistance, gas & oil platform operations, and special clandestine operations. Based out of Marine Camp Currin, Bozacaada, Turkey - the unit currently consists 4th Marine Raider Battalion, 4th Marine Raider Support Battalion, and associated SOCOM supporting elements from 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) and 27th Special Operations Group, 27th Special Operations Wing. The 4th MRB is an immersion-orientated, role-playing realism unit. By considering an application you have similar interests. 2. by Gemini "OPEX is a masterpiece." (Sowens) "This mod is awesome and should be approved by Bohemia." (Unknown) "You have made what I've been looking for since a very long time." (Guim's) "My friends and I are now only playing this mission." (Neall) "It's a titan work. Respect." (BingaNarko) "Thank you and go on, you're the best dude I have a poor PC and OPEX is running fantastic." (NeXoWw) "God bless you !! To be honest I've never seen someone who is so reactive and attentive to the community's feedback." (Bobzap / Sayker) "This mission is becoming so epic. I love it."(xaxa) ..... DESCRIPTION OPEX: Opérations Extérieures (External Operations) is an immersive fully dynamical task generator introducing the French Army fighting against terrorist organizations all over the world ! AUTHOR'S NOTE Bonjour ! I have to be honest, OPEX has totally be inspired by MSO (Multi-Session Operations) from ArmA II (and all successors from ArmA III: Patrol Operations 3, ALiVE... which are inspired from code34's Warcontext mission), so all credits must go to their development teams. After I tried it, I thought the idea of a fully dynamical task generator was brilliant, but there was some features that was not perfectly fitting to what I was expecting and some others that was missing. Firstly, I tried to customize original MSO but I finally choose to rebuild everything from the scratch. It's certainly not as good as MSO/PO/ALiVE but after more than 5 years of development (yeah, really !), and even if there are still many things to do (correct all bugs, create version for other maps, add new tasks, optimize all scripts...) I must say I'm pretty satisfied of what I did so far. It was initially a personnal project, but I thought maybe someone else could now be interested too so I'm proud to present today the first public relase ! I hope some of you will enjoy... MAIN FEATURES SP & MP compatible Option menu at startup to customize the mission by enabling/disabling/modifying included features Mission entirely built with random parameters for unlimited replayability Let the engine select a random task or select it by yourself among various ones (patrol, defend, attack, rescue...) Additional unique tasks depending on maps, to use some of their unique features (example: searching for caves on FATA...) Fully unpredictible situations to increase stress and realism: in opposite of most of all other similar task generators, enemy strength is fully random and is not based on players numbers Many random AI activities: patrols, ambushes, assaults, kamikazes, weapons caches, IEDs... Dynamical civilian activities Civilian interactions Dynamical reputation: take care of the local population, otherwise it may rise against you Credits system to recruit AI units and to order supplies and vehicles Gain credits when performing good actions (succeeding task, destroying weapon cache, neutralizing IED, arresting suspect...) Lose credits when performing bad actions (failing task, killing civilian, arresting innocent people...) Unlock AI supports by succeeding tasks (example: rescue a pilot to unlock airstrike support) Random starting time with faster day/night cycle to simulates long time operations Improved AI friendly units: they are now able to automatically assign/unassign NVG/flashlight/silencer by themselves, depending on the daytime and on their behaviour instructions Improved AI enemy units: they are now able to board into the nearest empty armed vehicle / static defense in case of danger Optimized AI behaviour (thanks to R3F AiComTarget script) Move and transport almost every item (thanks to R3F Logistic script) Random and dynamic weather (thanks to code34 for his script - I modified it a bit so weather's evolution is now depending on world regions) Ambiance house lights and ambiance animals (thanks to TPW for his scripts) Futurist but realistic electronic tactical glasses (thanks to TPW for his script - I modified it to create motion detector and hearbeat functions) Live video feeds (thanks to BangaBob for his script) Drag injured and dead bodies (thanks to BangaBog for his script) Little immersion tweaks: light sensitive map and NVG's optimized utilisation (thanks to Viperidae for his scripts) Map gestures with nearby players (thanks to dslyecxi for his script) Customizable MP synchronized music receiver for listening music tracks into vehicles Revive & respawn systems Primary needs function: eat, drink and sleep to avoid bad effects Fully functionnal HQ: refuel vehicles, rearm, treat yourself and eat/drink/sleep into the dedicated areas Functions to deactivate/delete that usless units and vehicles to save computer/server ressources Semi-persistent mission*: you can save your progression between each task Compatible with Zeus Compatible with additional mods (ACE3, TFAR, ACRE2, bCombat, ASR AI3, Winter 2035...) French and English localizations And much more ! VIDEOS PICTURES GAMEPLAY SERIES [FR] MrRatSuper [FR] TypeX [FR] Faiavan INTERVIEWS [FR] RackBoy REQUIRED ADDONS / DEPENDENCIES New ! Altis and Tanoa versions of OPEX are now playable WITHOUT ANY MOD (but be aware, in this case some features are disabled) ! In a perfect world, I wish I could avoid gamers to download any addon or mod. But as the main goal of OPEX is to bring a fun and different ArmA experience, and if you are getting bored to play as a US soldier, take some time for downloading these files (most of them are used by a large part of the ArmA community by the way): Download all required addons with only one click by subscribing the official OPEX mod collection on Steam. Download all optional addons with only one click by subscribing the official OPEX extra mod collection on Steam. Note that OPEX is compatible with: ACE3 Task Force Radio ACRE2 Winter 2035 COMMUNITY FEEDBACK Don't hesitate to share your feedback, your suggestions and to report all bugs you may have encountered here on the official BIS forum, or on Steam. KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES (any help is welcome !) Picture pictures\overview.paa not found at startup when joining server despite the picture is present in the mission folder, I don't know how to fix this. Ambient civilian vehicles are sometimes spawning on buildings (so they explode) when playing on some unofficial maps. It seems to happen because some ArmA I / ArmA II buildings are not recognized by the engine ? The armory may take some time to initialize ion MP (you may see a few weapons or objects flying at start-up). Just wait a few seconds, everything should automatically move on the walls (maybe a server sync problem ?). Ambient AI animations may sometimes be weired when playing on MP TO DO LIST (Extreme prioriy): fix all bugs reported by the community (High priority): add many new tasks (High prioriy): create version for many other maps (High priority): always reduce addon dependency as much as possible (Medium priority): add more details to briefings (Medium priority): add notes and tips (example: how to use tactical glasses...) (Medium priority): optimize and tweak all scripts and functions (or better: rewrite everything because so many time has passed since the first code I wrote !) (Low priority): correct current localizations and add new ones (will require some translators !) (Low priority): create more information for each civilian (date of birth, adress, job...) via setVariable command in Gemini_fnc_civilianInteractionsBehaviours function, so scan interaction could be more interesting (Low priority): maybe replace current units and vehicles with more realistic ones when they will be available (OFrP ?) 3. Introduction Task force husky is an Arma 3 unit dedicated to semi-milsim game-play, offering a milsim style of game-play in an CQB based infantry environment whilst still keeping operations fun. Our members are like a small family and we all strive to keep the mission clean, efficient but also fun. What we do? TFH is a CQB based unit who strive to offer fun, quick, action-packed game-play to the arma 3 community and everybody else. We're relaxed with our milsim however we keep to it, a normal R.O.E, generic call-signs, commanders. Our usual operations exist within CO-OP missions (Like Liberation) and Zeus missions, ran with a dedicated Zeus. Our missions mainly consist of the following: ⦁ Compound Clearing ⦁ Patrol Operations ⦁ HVT Elimination ⦁ HVT Evacuation ⦁ Convoy Ambushes ⦁ As well as many more. Weekly Games? We always play a mission once a week, this is our main MAJOR mission, always planned, same time, same day, every week. However we also have sporadic missions throughout the week as well, mainly Zeus based missions but they can be anything, we have a dedicated server that OF ranks can join and run missions on as well. What do we look for? Please note we require an applicant to be 16 years of age, with a good, mature attitude, exceptions may be made based on maturity. Regardless of your skill or hours in ArmA 3 there could be a place for YOU within our unit if your keen to learn the ropes of a role, then maybe even move to more specialised roles. We look primaraly for CQB units, such as riflemen, autoriflemen, heavy gunners, medics, engineers and roles like such. If you only know how to be a rifleman, no issues, we will aim to help as best as we can to improve your combat efficiency, but also allow you to explore other CQB roles as well. Our sister wing TFH Logistics & Air Wing holds to offer a job for pilots, CAS or logistical there could be a place for you in the LaAW (Logistics and Air Wing) if your primarily going to be able to evacuate units, offer fire support or CAS gun runs. 7. Introduction Greetings, Im PFC. D. Ryan with the 1st Army Rangers we are a new WW2 semi-realistic milsim with 10+ members and we are looking to expand. Add me on steam for more questions. Background It was originally formed shortly after the United States' entry into World War II and was modeled after the British Commandos during the war. Members from the unit were the first American soldiers to see combat in the European theater when they participated in the failed raid on Dieppe in France in 1942, during which three Rangers were killed and several more were captured. Later, the 1st Ranger Battalion was sent to North Africa where they participated in the landings in Algeria and the fighting in Tunisia in 1943. Also in 1943 the unit provided cadre for two more Ranger battalions created between the campaigns in Sicily and Italy. Origins The 1st US Army Ranger Battalion was founded in late April, 2018. It is a subgroup of a larger gaming community, known as "Splinter Cell Gaming". Purpose The 1st US Army Ranger Battalion is focused on providing an effective atmosphere for those who wish to immerse themselves into the Second World War era, from the perspective of a member of the 1st Rangers. Operations Operations with the 1st US Army Ranger Battalion will occur in two major "types". Miniature operations, occurring spontaneously throughout the week, will be minor missions. Examples of such are stealing intelligence or destroying an enemy outpost. These minor missions will have small effects on the Major Operation (such as knowing the enemy's location, or having an enemy vehicle at the disposal). Major Operations, occurring at scheduled dates and times, will be the Primary Campaign of the 1st US Army Ranger Battalion. Each Campaign will consist of multiple Main Operations. 10. Hi Arma lovers We have been playing since the release date of the Arma 3. Our Association exemplifies the Turkish Armed Forces. 11. Hey guys! My name is N. Lord and I recently got out of the military. I picked up Arma 3 and I love it so far! I was wondering if anyone wanted to help start a milsim with me? Help me design missions, build bases, Create forums and structure, ETC. Any help would be awesome!
  12. Hi guys i'm a Zeus player looking for a milsim unit to Zeus for. I've been Zeus for two communities in the past and despite the difficulties I've also been Zeus on public servers too. I'm mainly looking for a unit that isn't too large or too strict. I'm from the UK so i'll be more inclined to join a more EU unit due to timezones though i'm open to joining other units too.
  13. The Wrecking Crew The Wrecking Crew is a realism group that prides itself in its dedication to realistic and enjoyable game play, without the rigid aspects like permanent ranks and having to shout "Yes, sir" at a 14 year old. While we play mostly as British Forces to make coherent training possible, we have a whole host of players who come from all over the world, some as far out as Malaysia and South Africa. You select the role you'd like each week for our editor-driven operations, as long as you are competent and prove yourself by passing the required training sessions for that role, with some not requiring any. This allows you to vary from leading a platoon one week to driving a tank the next. The freedom to experience so many different types of game play without hindrance on the co-operation & enjoyability is something you will struggle to find in most other ArmA groups. Public Server If you would like to experience first hand what it's like to play with TWC, come join us on our public server. It runs different dynamic game modes made entirely in-house with a more relaxed game play than in our operations, but it will still give you a good insight in the community and play style. You don't need to sign up to participate on our public server, just the mods and to connect to our TeamSpeak server. We've created an easy to follow guide on how to get connected here. About our Operations Alongside a public server that runs 24/7, the biggest event our group hosts are weekly 'Operations' with between 20 to 40 people. As well as the occasional 'Joint Operation' with other groups which have encompassed up to 70 people total. Our operations span over a century of warfare, with a monthly rotation of World War 2, Cold War, Turn of the Millennium and Modern Operations. This means that in one month you can liberate a French town from Nazi occupation, halt a Soviet mechanised assault in the plains of Northern Germany, brawl with Iraqi armour in the deserts of Kuwait and patrol through the hills of Afghanistan, searching for insurgents. In these operations any recruit or member can play any role as long as he has received the corresponding training. In our operations we strive for maximum realism. We find real-life solutions for problems that we may face in game, while omitting more tedious parts of military duty like saluting, hour-long marches and range etiquette. We aim for the most immersive experience possible by having minimal HUD, first person only, a single life and using ACRE 2 for communications. Our operations take place on Saturday at 18:30 (UK time) and can last up to four hours or more. Interested in trying it out? If you're interested in participating in public, or signing up to try out our operations, you can check out our website for more information: http://www.thewreckingcrew.eu/. Alternatively, you can contact us on Discord, or pop directly onto TeamSpeak where any member will be willing to help you join with no hassle.
  14. Disclaimer: 3rd Special Forces Group is a newly formed Unit, which will be based on maturity, cohesion, and tactics. No fancy ACR's or Quad NVG's. Good men, and good games. We are veteran owned and veteran operated. What We Strive to Accomplish: The 3rd Special Forces Group (3rd SFG), will be a small tight knit community centered on good laughs and realistic game play. The core focus of the group will be small unit tactics and solid communication. We do not use a ranking system and will follow a chain of command based on position. Training: We are looking for the best we can find. We will accept no less through our doors. We have a small but rigorous selection process for our unit. If you pass you will be selected as a Candidate for our group, with full permissions. Once you prove yourself and earn an MOS, you will complete a culminating exercise known as "Robin Sage" and you will earn a permanent spot in our ODA. 17. Who are we? Number 2 Company of the Coldstream Guards was created on the 2nd of April, 2018. We are a semi-realistic British milsim unit that operates in modern times. Since the Coldstream Guards are a Light Infantry unit, most of our events consist of maneuvers on foot at a Section-level although if we need to cross long distances or get somewhere quickly, we utilize lightly-armoured vehicles for transport such as Coyotes, Jackals and MRAPs. Event Information We conduct 4 types of events in No. 2 Coy, C. GDS. These are: Field Training Exercises (FTXs) Trainings Standalone Operations Campaign Operations Our events start at 7PM EST and can last anywhere from 1 hour - 3 hours depending on the type of event. We will give appropriate notice if the event will last a while. Structure of the Unit The Coldstream Guards are one of the Foot Guard Regiments of the British Army and is the oldest regiment in the Regular Army that is still in active service. Although we are technically underneath 1st Battalion of the Coldstream Guards, in reality there is only a single battalion anyways so we took that out of the equation when naming our unit. Our long-term goal is to grow and fill up an entire company and have linked support assets working alongside our guys on the ground. Although it may take a while to ever get to that stage, we are confident that with the right people helping organise and lead the unit, we can get there. Everyone has a part to play! Available Roles Since we are a brand new unit, we doubt they'll be pilot slots or sniper positions opening up anytime soon. That being said, there are plenty of infantry-based roles that might interest you: Rifleman Grenadier (Underslung Grenade Launcher) Pointman (CQB) Marksman (7.62mm Designated Marksman Rifle) Light Machine Gunner (5.56mm belt-fed Machine Gun) Medium Machine Gunner (7.62mm belt-fed Machine Gun) Junior NCO Positions (Cpl. and below) Senior NCO Positions (Sgt. and above) Signaller (Communications) Medic For those of you that enjoy helping units stay organised and would like to get into the admin side of things, once you've been in the unit for a couple weeks and have shown a good level of commitment and loyalty, we can look into getting you incorporated into our admin staff. Recruitment Process If you would like to join the unit, please contact one of our Recruitment Officers or comment below and we'll get in touch with you ASAP. (Please see bottom of the post for a list of our Command Staff and Recruitment Staff) Once contact has been made, we will answer any questions you might have and get you to fill out an application form. This gives us a good basis of what kind of person you are. After that, you will go through a quick 2-3 minute interview where we will ask you some standard questions and all you have to do is answer them to the best of your ability. Finally, you'll be tagged up on Steam, asked to start getting the mods downloaded, invited to the Steam group and voila, you're now a member of Number 2 Company of the Coldstream Guards! 18. What is our unit? The Essex Regiment is a Second World War UK based unit that attempts to recreate a realistic portrayal of the British military during the mid 20th century period. We are a serious milsim, meaning that when on operations, members should be serious and follow designated procedures. The Essex Regiment focuses mainly on conventional warfare, meaning most missions will be lively and kinetic. Occasionally we may also perform counter-insurgencies and other less conventional operations. The Essex Regiment uses a rank system based on the British Army during the Second World War period. In our unit, players will receive promotions and commendations based on their merit and dedication with the unit and not solely based on their role. This means that members will be rewarded for their capability, knowledge and time devoted to the unit. Who is our unit based on? We are based on the Essex Regiment. It fought during many of the different campaigns throughout the Second World War. From the battle of France in 1940 until the fall of Germany in 1945. Our unit won't strictly follow all the campaigns followed by the Essex Regiment as we feel that campaigns such as Norway and Burma and others set in the final days of Empire will allow for differentiation in combat and environment. However the unit will try to stick as close as possible while keeping game-play fun and engaging and will undertake campaigns in a chronological order of events mirroring the events of the Second World War and its immediate aftermath. When do we play? We have two events a week. We conduct exercises and training on thursdays at 2000 GMT (in summer this changes to GMT+1) and operations on sunday at 2000 GMT (again changing to GMT+1 in Summer). How can I join? If you're interested in joining our unit, you must be of 16 years of age or above. If you are below 16, it is possible that you may still join the unit but you must have a mature attitude. The interview process will take a bit longer as your place in the unit will be discussed with other interviewers. Be aware that if you are caught lying about your age after being accepted into the unit, you will be removed from the unit. To join our unit, feel free to add and message one of our officers (As indicated in our Steam Group) or alternatively come chat to us in our team-speak or Discord: Teamspeak: 95.172.92.113:9990 Discord: https://discord.gg/YbXg49h Steam Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Essex_Regiment Once you've shown interest in joining our unit, you will be asked to attend an interview at a time that is convenient for you. In this interview, you will be asked a variety of questions including your age, any previous Arma experience and questions about yourself. Don't be discouraged by this interview process as it is more to find out more about you and where we think you would fit best. Once the interview process is complete and you have shown promise, you will be accepted into the unit. You will be invited into the Steam group and be able to join the Essex Regiment in all its operations and other activities.

  23. Background The 20th Armoured Infantry Brigade was founded in November of 2015 by friends without sufficient time or hardware enough to fully commit to a proper MilSim unit- but still want to play professionally as a part of a team. Currently numbering 31, we are building up the unit step by step, further improving our experience and versatility as a unit. Mission Our current aim is to create a professional unit that will realistically recreate the role of British Armoured Infantry. In this role, the FV510 WARRIOR sees use within the section for the infantry to fight with and out of. We are also well versed in dismounted infantry tactics for varied operations, and for operations with other units where the use of Warrior wouldn't be necessary. Our overall goal is to provide a unit which uses realistic British SOP's as best as possible, whilst also having fun and banter. Who We're Looking For We are looking for people who are motivated to create a unique MilSim experience. Since we aim to recreate a realistic representation of the British Army, we'd love to find personnel with previous military experience, with experience using WARRIOR and Armoured Infantry, and those with leadership and management experience. As it is, we currently have a fair amount of members who are current or former service members of the British, US, Danish, and Croatian Armed Forces, including members who have served within the actual 20th AIB itself. If you would like to advise or help out, please give us a shout, and we will do our best to accomodate you! We're also looking for modders to help with the creation of realistic in-game variants of the FV510, FV103, FV107, and AS90. We are indeed willing to donate to those willing to help. If you'd like to join a MilSim unit, but do not have the time for regular attendance, consider checking us out. We offer a reserves programme which accommodates your availability once you've completed your training. Things to Note Regular trainings are on Wednesdays and Operations are on Saturdays, both at 1930 UK time, unless we are doing special events or joint operations. We are looking for people aged 16 and up, especially those with prior military or cadets experience Please do not ask us to merge with your unit. We will not accept any offers. We are open to joint operations provided you use ACRE2 and allow joint training to be conducted beforehand. We do not have Sodexo Catering or friday afternoon weapons cleaning, and when you finish your CIC we give you a virtual daysack (which also works at night). We are a Military Simulation unit. We do our best to implement tactics and SOP's that are in use within the British Army. As such, we have a strenuous training programme and qualifications to be earned, and we expect a certain level of maturity and discipline from our members. We do not, however, require members to address each other by rank or act a certain way outside of the game. This is, after all, a video game and lines have been drawn that we do our best not to cross. Summary and Contact Info We're a tight-knit MilSim unit focussed on British Armoured Infantry. Looking for those with military, cadets, or leadership experience. Training/Operations wednesdays/saturdays, 1930 UK. Realistic training and performance, without the real army bullshit. Custom in-house mods and a strong forces-based membership Our communications assets can be found here: WEBSITE: 20th Armoured Infantry Brigade TEAMSPEAK: ts.20thaib.org.uk STEAM PAGE: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/20thaibmilsim DISCORD LINK: https://discord.gg/wbseeVR Thanks for your time and consideration, Charlie1210 and the 20th AIB Team
