I hope this fleshes out the setting developed by @Lexx's great 'Dunes' mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1731998436), and alluded to in Bohemia's own Tac Ops DLC. It's interesting that we're playing as ION again - do you think we'll see a similar portrayal as in Arma 2 PMC DLC? Just fyi for the devs however - 'Assistance' is spelt incorrectly on the side of this helo - (FIXED)

Forget about outdated and plain wrong tutorials, now you have tutorial which will be kept always up to date and correct. There are just tons of good arma3 terrain editing information so dig in and use the search function to go through what PMC Editing Wiki has to offer. We strive to maintain an enjoyable balance between realism and fun in our operations, with roleplay strongly encouraged. What is Evergreen? Evergreen Technology and Defense is a private defense contractor headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and with branch offices in San Diego, CA and Charlotte, NC. A subsidiary of ETS Holdings, Evergreen provides security, intelligence, and research solutions for defense and other industry clients across the globe. Our goal is to provide a high return on investment by identifying, meeting, and exceeding our clients’ security, training, and consulting expectations. How we play We encourage roleplay within realistic contemporary and near-future operations from the point of view of a private military company , entering into a dark world of failed nation-states and wealthy special interest groups willing to do anything to see their goals achieved. Narratively, Evergreen employs professional and experienced operators from many Western nations and vetted former members of host/partner nations military and police forces. An expectation of professionalism is expected in your conduct as a part of Evergreen, but we do not throw rank or expect anyone to render courtesy based on assumed superiority. Evergreen uses an internally developed force structure in its Ground Combat Elements based around highly flexible ten-man formations known as Troops, comprised of two fireteams of Critical Skills Operators, overseen by a senior operator and an attached systems technician supporting the team by means of unmanned aerial systems equipped with precision munitions. Every Ground Combat Element is made up of three such Troops and led by an Element Lead and his Operational Advisor. We carry out our activities against AI-controlled hostile forces augmented by a Zeus game master.   8. Most community released terrains are tiny, bis made Stratis is tiny 8km where Altis is decent size 30km, so your Jets DLC options are very limited. There are no "flyboys" terrains as good old Bushlurker (RIP, brother) used to call them. But jet pilots don't need to worry because PMC comes to the rescue! Jets DLC PMC Real World Data Terrains for ArmA 3. Real world terrain data is: SRTM heightmap, maps.google.com satellite texture and OpenStreetMap.org roads. This is realistic 1:1 scale terrains for their real life locations, nothing has been scaled down or faked. If not stated otherwise all terrains are 143km x 143km in size with 71,680 x 71,680 resolution satellite texture which is 2 meters / pixel. There are no (or very few) objects placed! 2020-11-16 note; there are millions of objects in vegetation depending on specific terrain. Plan is to develop these terrains further, for example populate them with objects (trees, rocks, town/city buildings etc), but no promises. We produce realistic military training for a fun and enjoyable experience, and consistently hold operations for our player base. Hi guys, I'm a new guy to Arma3 terrain building.I followed pmc terrain edit tutorial.Everything went fine until I tried to binarize my terrain folder with pboProject.It seems that some GDT files are missing(maybe other files are missing too).But I don't know how to solve it.I did exactly what tutorial tell me to do.   12. Battalion "Aafrika" a Private Military Company About us The Aafrika Battalion is a Semi-Serious Arma 3 unit. We focus on having fun during events while maintaining a certain degree of discipline so that order is still in place and everybody can enjoy the missions. We also have a set focus on creating a story-driven element to the campaigns, to add extra spice to what is the usual Arma of just run and gunning. The main focus will be set around infantry combat and our main language is English. We play as a fictional private military company and take up contracts all over the world. The types of missions we play can vary greatly. (Mainly depends on what we feel like and what area we want to play in) The symbol that represents our Battalion is a "Mmusuyidee" which is supposed to bring us good luck. Event Schedule: TUESDAY - Side Operation at 18:00 BST FRIDAY - Main Operation at 20:15 BST Member hosted Side Operations can be hosted any day. Our unit currently features: Battalion Command "Victoria" (Staff/ Zeus team) Platoon Command "Bouddica" 1st Infantry Squad "Spears" 2nd Infantry Squad "Elisabeth" Support Detachment "Margaret" (Armour and Aviation) Currently, the following roles are open for new members: 2x Squad Lead, 1x Team Lead, 1x Combat Medic, 1x Machinegunner, 1x Team Lead, 2x Rifleman (Each with their own specialisations) Gameplay As mentioned earlier, the unit is semi-serious, which means: We play in first person with very limited HUD. During missions, we maintain a chain of command between the units. Because there is some roleplay involved in missions, everyone's actions have consequences whether long or short term to the Battalion's reputation in the world we play in. (Example - massacring villages, doing war crimes etc. will probably not end well for our Battalion in that campaign) We only allow 1x magnification sights, but you can just use the iron sights. The amount of equipment that people carry will be limited, otherwise, there is no use for resupplies and other gameplay elements that come around that. After the end of each campaign there will be a vote regarding where we will take up the next contract. The PMC Setting was the same Missions, just named differently by so many other Clans/Units. Instead of wearing Camo Outfits, they wear Cargo Shorts and white Shirts. Task Force Crow (Einsatzgruppe Krähe) was always meant to be a Mercenary Force. We are hired guns. Not Military. We are a Private Military Security Company. Thus we started to create exactly that scenario. We have two clashing forces: East & West. They fight a war. We are taking Contracts. Missions. Humanitary ones, Military ones, Civillian ones, Illegal Ones. The possibliities doing such a scenario are huge. What if i tell you, that you can capture a vehicle, and instead of using it, you can try to sell it on the black market. But not a virtual marked, where you just click and hope for a good price? What if i tell you, you have to bring the vehicle to someone, to hope that this someone is now screwing you over. To get a offer of money for the vehicle. And what if i tell you, that the possibliity is there, that, whoever vehicle this was before, may show up with special forces to bring it back? We dont talk about a freaking Toyota that cost maybe a couple thousand dollars. We're talking big Numbers. And, since we like it as realistically as possible, the numbers respect that as well. You dont pay 25k to unlock a tank and when it's gone you say "Eff it, we gonna get another one". You will be hurt when your tank is blown up. You will feel it, the time you did to get that huge machine. We try to create a Mission-File that takes the Sandbox to the PMC-Side. To offer you: Do what you want. You will do it for money. And you will decide where your goal will be. Total Domination on your own? Support an Armies Cause? Or will you fuel the war so you will be 'freaking rich'? Yes, we aim for a very script heavy mission but the time spent is worth it. We already use the Zeus to make the Missions and use the scripted features we already have. It grows and, with the start of the alpha-phase, you could also play this mission. At least, if you're interested in the PMC-Setting.   19. STAF - Private Military Company (Since 2013) Who we are: We are STAF - Private Military Company. Our group originated in 2013 playing ArmA 2 but switched to ArmA 3 in its Beta Phase. We are based in Europe. Due to that our Standard time Zone is: GMT+2 Summer Time or GMT+1 Winter Time. Missions are usually issued on Saturdays with Wednesday missions also being a possibility.   20. We are a relaxed milsim unit with a PMC structure. We Currently have 4 platoons (1st, 2nd,HQ)but are expanding to a 4th platoon. 1st and 2nd platoon are structured as 3 squad standard riflemen platoons, HQ platoon has our medics aviation, FISTORs and a new mortar section. 3rd platoon which is currently in the organizing stages will be a heavy weapons platoon We take pride in a relaxed structure but keep in mind once we are engaged in a OP we fairly serious (most of the time.) We are always cracking jokes and having a good time. When ever we are not in an OP feel free to be single and ready to mingle with one in the TeamSpeak. We encourage playing with each other in other games as well. We have a Short training that last tops 2 hours which covers all your basic movement and weapons that we use.   22. Hi, I'm a bit new to the forums but definitely not new to the Arma series. Anyhow, recently, I was wondering why no one has attempted to create a realistic and contemporary map related to the Syrian and Iraqi wars. While maps like Diyala exist, there are no Syrian maps like Deir Ezzor, Palmyra or Raqqa. Having said that, I've taken it upon myself to start a project. Unfortunately, I have run into a problem. After following PMC's great tutorial titled, "ArmA 3 Real World Data Terrain Tutorial," in conjunction with the Ultimate Terrain Tutorial, I reached a point where I don't believe there was any clear mention of what processes are involved. For example, I have gone through and created all of the necessary files, like heightmaps, satellite textures, etc, but when I got to the point of using L3DT to create attributes and texture files, I ran into a problem. What exactly am I supposed to import into L3DT in order to be able to use TerrainBuilder? I'm looking at the Ultimate Terrain Tutorial, the portion where he talks about TerrainBuilder, and I noticed that he has the following: a satellite texture, a heightmap and a satellite mask. I imported the heightmap (developed in Global Mapper) into L3DT and exported it as necessary. I also figured the satellite texture was the PNG I downloaded with Terraincognita. I managed to import all of these into L3DT and export them as required, but I am puzzled by the satellite mask. Apparently it is generated from an attributes layer but I don't exactly have an attributes layer to accompany these other files. Can someone please guide me into finding an answer? I looked hard but I could not find anything specifically addressing my problem. This is literally the only barrier I have right now and it is a significant one at that. I have my texture and heightmap loaded and attempted to create an attributes layer by scratch, but it only spawns a plain brown (desert) or blue (water) square. It doesn't correspond at all to the parameters of my original files. Thanks in advance,

Ronin Tactical Services started off as a training academy with 25 staff members teaching military, law enforcement, and private investors on ways of thinking and utilizing various tactics in the field. Some instructors accepted small contracts by the US government to train other national armies and law enforcement to combat insurgency and terrorism. They also accepting contracts which involved Ronin advisors to take part in level zero patrol operations with Indigenous Forces accompanied by various NATO troops. Some Ronin staffs were also coming home injured or KIA which left more positions to be filled. the organization was short-handed and overstretched. With a lot of changes made to the organization, Ronin Tactical Services expanded from 20 to 1,000 members in 3 months and counting. With defense contracts becoming more popular among other PMCs, the organization expanded into a Security Force while still keeping their academy open. Another branch was open for Security deployments. Ronin Tactical Services are hiring special operators and training staff members for their Special Combat Unit to conduct emergency extract, rescue, recon, escort, special direct action, and other 'SWAT-like' assignments. Whether you are new to Arma or an experienced player we are looking for all new members and are able to provide training and assistance for those who wish to learn.
