    Arma 3 Units - Feedback thread

    Welcome to the new Feedback thread for Arma 3 Units. Here we would like to collect all your feedback, suggestions, and ideas.     NATO UNIT OVERHAUL

    What is this mod? This mod Improves the way the default NATO soldiers look in the game by replacing them with gear already existing in the game, as well as some slighlty retextured helmets. I aimed for them to look like how they were in the alpha, beta and release candidate of the game. I mainly did this by making the Enhanced combat helmet the norm compared to the combat helmet as I personally think they look alot better and suit the 2035 setting alot more. I also restricted the use of the Carrier special rig and GL Rig to certain roles as I think they were over used and I personally dont like them as I think they're "too chubby". I also retextured the ECH and LCH slightly by adding a US flag so they look like they did in the Pre-alpha version of Arma 3. Why download this mod? Small file size - 2.1mb! Better looking units that work on any mission. New retextured helmets to incorporate US flag while not compromising the normal ones so you can still use them for other missions. This is my first mod I've ever made, so while its only small and simple, any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Altis Special Police Unit v1.48 by FoxFort Description: At the end of civil war in Altis, the Jerusalem Cease Fire of 2030 mandated the creation of an armed defence force to secure the sovereign territory of The Republic of Altis and Stratis, with that act Altis Armed Forces was born. But it was limited to have less then 1000 soldiers. In recent years, the on-going counter-insurgency operations in North-Western Altis resulted with worn down AAF military strength and with WW3 on the doorstep, the need to deal with insurgency and to increase overall security was a top priority. With active embargo on increasing the military strength. Altis government decided to form a Special Police Unit. The newly formed SPU consists only from current serving Altis police officers, who volunteered to server in area of counter-insurgency operation with hope of bringing order to chaos. New needed equipment for SPU was imported into country and the new 100+ strong SPU was formed. Wearing distinctive blue uniforms, SPU saw their first action in defence of Oreokastro. The Lowlands Warrior team has decided to start releasing Alpha stage mods in order to get more feedback on the content and maybe encourage more modders to join the team History Back in the early 2000's LLW started as a mod for the original Rainbow Six series, creating a large arsenal of NL Army/Marines weapons. Shortly afterwards they started creating content for Operations:Flashpoint (aka Arma: Cold War Assault) They released a large pack with terrains, vehicles, aircraft, weapons and units which what THE only dutch armed forces mod around at the time.   16. I am trying to get to the bottom of why not all assets from some mods are made available for a zeus curator when initiated through an in-game script. Note that this is not related to needing to adjust the module to read "all addons including unofficial ones" in the editor. I have a script which creates a curator module and assigns it to the designated player (usually me), and is supposed to add all addons to it. This works fine with almost everything; all vanilla factions are added without fault and almost all downloaded mods. However, for a couple of faction mods, some assets are not being added even when some of them are. While it is usually quite consistent which fail to add, it is not always completely. At first I assumed it was a case of some assets in the mod having scopeCurator set such that this was intended, but even having been into the configs and successfully changed it, it still fails most the time. It also wouldn't explain why on some occasions these assets do get added. I am not getting any error messages other than: This confuses me because I read on a biki page that addons can be added "on the fly" for a curator, and it works despite this error message for most addons. Even though units appear in Eden editor under custom faction name, they do not appear based on custom CfgVehicleClasses; instead it seems they inherit classes from units they are based on; 2. I have read that this problem was related to custom faction classname in the past and if I wanted it to appear in Zeus, i had to use vanilla classname as NATO, for example. But it appears that mods like RHS works just fine in Zeus with custom faction classnames, so i don't understand where the problem is.

So thanks to Commy on Arma 3 Discord, we have finally been able to fix the issue whereby Zeus would not show some of our units, objects or buildings Here's how to ensure your items show up in Zeus 1. make sure each item has scope = 2; scopecurator =2; 2. make sure in the cfgpatches class, units[] has a full set of working classes listed with no mistakes/ scope 0 objects, or incorrect classnames - see example 3. if vehicle has scopeCurator = 2 & is present in cfgPatches but crew is scope = 1; or scopeCurator = 0 or not present in cfgPatches or crew = ""; or the crew pbo is not preloaded, then the whole vehicle is not visible in zeus. 4. make sure your cfgpatches class name is in preloadaddons list[] in cfgaddons. The downside to preloading all of your addons, is that it uses a lot of RAM. So choose the best set of mods that you really need for Zeus. Beware in more complex mod packs, you might have multiple instances of cfgaddons throughout your config family. In this case, if you accidentally duplicate a class of cfgpatches in your list[] array, the entire list in that instance of cfgaddons will fail to load in Zeus. For this reason I recommend having only one cfgaddons class in your mod, with a full list of your correct cfgpatches classnames in the list, OR only have one cfgpatches entry in your list and have one cfgaddons class containing that list in each of your pbo /addons. So distributed or centralised, but don't mix the two approaches.   23. I have stumbled across an issue with the mission I am working on for my server, it works really well once tested on my client and in the editor. However, once I upload it for testing on the dedicated server, the mission goes wild. It makes units fall down through the ground after you spawn in and vehicles makes flips, they explode and start burning all across the map. Units and vehicles are affected, not static objects such as sandbags. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this issue? It really confuse me, because to my knowledge, there is nothing obvious that should be causing this issue. The units across the map keeps flipping up and down beneath the ground like this. None of my other missions behave in this way, I assume it is mission related?
