  1. It is time to make this Project "official", Global-Mobilization (GM) is a a joint venture of the former "GAF" Team (Maverick and Myself) and MBG (Mondkalb). The goal is to deliver a highly detailed environment for cold war combat in central Europe. This includes Aerial Vehicles, Characters, Ground Vehicles, Objects, Weapons and Terrains. GM is by no means intended to be a German Army Addon only, but will focus on the various nations that would have been involved in a 1980s conflict in central Europe. Due to its location in the center of Europe and the "would have been" front line of such a conflict, Germany, both east and west will form the Core of GM. 3. Cold War: Global Escalation Mod Series This thread is for my Cold War mod project, which aims to capture the feeling of the conflict while only using assets that are already existing. The mod is based on the late 80s and early 90s period and features a number of factions who are relevant for the time: the Soviet Union, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, the People's Republic of China, the United States, West Germany. These factions are broken into multiple mods, with the Eastern Bloc one currently being the released one. NATO nations will be included soon, as will certain smaller and overlooked nations from the period such as Rhodesia or Cuba, and even North Korea. The mod is meant to be based in history but is not historically accurate in the sense that all of the equipment is exactly right. The equipment is as accurate as it can be with the available assets, and when compared to historical photographs, is still reasonably close to real life. This is especially true if you are using these units as OPFOR enemies, which you'll see in full detail less. Additionally, infantry is the main focus of the mod. The dependencies are listed on the Steam download page. Eastern Bloc Factions On Steam Screenshots
  4. Hey guys. Today I'm happy to announce to development of Conflict '85. A re-imagining and recreation of Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis. Conflict '85 was born out the CUP project as I created Russian and FIA units in the style of OFP units. From there the ideas grew and grew. Re-imaging: There's a lot of military hardware from 1985 that would fit sweetly into the OFP timeline. I aim to bring a unique yet fitting armory of vehicles and weapons into the fold. We'll get into a few examples later. Recreation OFP is a game adored by those who played here, those who yearn for that era one more time. There were vehicles and weapons in OFP that perhaps shouldn't have been used. (I'm looking at you OT-65) yet why the hell not have them back in A3. While a lot of vehicles don't exist right now. Hopefully as time goes on, it may be possible to bring back those missing vehicles. Screenies. M1 Abrams FIA captured T-72. Painted with the classic green stripe indicator. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/505902374494994338/08E6AE6C33FA9B14DC8FA08F533ABA7CC4BCCC06/ RU T-72 M151 Jeep M113A1 and M577. 5. The Wrecking Crew The Wrecking Crew is a realism group that prides itself in its dedication to realistic and enjoyable game play, without the rigid aspects like permanent ranks and having to shout "Yes, sir" at a 14 year old. While we play mostly as British Forces to make coherent training possible, we have a whole host of players who come from all over the world, some as far out as Malaysia and South Africa. You select the role you'd like each week for our editor-driven operations, as long as you are competent and prove yourself by passing the required training sessions for that role, with some not requiring any. This allows you to vary from leading a platoon one week to driving a tank the next. The freedom to experience so many different types of game play without hindrance on the co-operation & enjoyability is something you will struggle to find in most other ArmA groups. Public Server If you would like to experience first hand what it's like to play with TWC, come join us on our public server. It runs different dynamic game modes made entirely in-house with a more relaxed game play than in our operations, but it will still give you a good insight in the community and play style. You don't need to sign up to participate on our public server, just the mods and to connect to our TeamSpeak server. We've created an easy to follow guide on how to get connected here. About our Operations Alongside a public server that runs 24/7, the biggest event our group hosts are weekly 'Operations' with between 20 to 40 people. As well as the occasional 'Joint Operation' with other groups which have encompassed up to 70 people total. Our operations span over a century of warfare, with a monthly rotation of World War 2, Cold War, Turn of the Millennium and Modern Operations. This means that in one month you can liberate a French town from Nazi occupation, halt a Soviet mechanised assault in the plains of Northern Germany, brawl with Iraqi armour in the deserts of Kuwait and patrol through the hills of Afghanistan, searching for insurgents. In these operations any recruit or member can play any role as long as he has received the corresponding training. In our operations we strive for maximum realism. We find real-life solutions for problems that we may face in game, while omitting more tedious parts of military duty like saluting, hour-long marches and range etiquette. We aim for the most immersive experience possible by having minimal HUD, first person only, a single life and using ACRE 2 for communications. Our operations take place on Saturday at 18:30 (UK time) and can last up to four hours or more. Interested in trying it out? If you're interested in participating in public, or signing up to try out our operations, you can check out our website for more information: http://www.thewreckingcrew.eu/. Alternatively, you can contact us on Discord, or pop directly onto TeamSpeak where any member will be willing to help you join with no hassle.

  7. SP The Bridge at Davle

SP The Bridge at Davle This is a Cold War combined arms mission based on the 'Soviet Assault (Large)' scenario featured in the 'Cold War Gone Hot: World War III 1986' book of the Force on Force wargame series. During 1987's spring season, the Soviets launch a massive assault across the Inner German Border. Elements of the US Army's 2nd Battalion, 64th Armor and 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry occupy a German village and nearby high ground awaiting the enemy assault across the bridge. The Soviet forces consist of the lead tank company of the advanced guard battalion of the 120th Guards MRR, 39th Guards Motorized Division. This scenario is based on an actual training mission fought by these US Army units NE of Schweinfurt, Germany during January 1987. Can you succeed? This initial release focuses on the uniforms, equipment and weaponry of the infantry. A small note This period of British military history involves multiple conflicts which to modern eyes and sensibilities have ethically questionable elements. For the sake of the wider community and perception of this work I would suggest a tactful approach to creating and distributing missions involving these conflicts - Northern Ireland and Aden in particular, but all warfare has ugly moments. The scars of these conflicts are still felt by some, and I do not intend to court that kind of controversy. If you take issue with this statement or any content put out by the community using this mod, feel free to contact here or via Discord. This would not have been possible without the mentoring and support of Mondkalb and the rest of the Arma Cold Warriors Discord channel. They are too numerous to name here, but the happy responses, healthy critique and empathy in frustration are what stopped me from giving up on this months ago. The Arma 3 community as a whole has contributed to a huge knowledge base that I leaned heavily upon to get this mod in to the world. The Volunteer Commando Battalion is a group that kept me interested in playing Arma for years past its original run (back to the earliest days of OFP), and I would wholeheartedly recommend checking them out if you want to play with this mod in tactical realism scenarios. 12. Hi all! Just some forewarning, I am a complete beginner level modeler (in my opinion) and also know zero about texturing, coding, etc. Me, being me, decided I really wanted to get the ol' Chieftain into ArmA 3, and since I enjoy Blender, whipped up a chassis model. Here it is: I know, I'm completely unqualified to take on this task, but I've really wanted to get into vehicle mods for ArmA 3 and figured I might as well try getting one of my favorite vehicle's in, with some help of course. That in mind, I've come here to hopefully get some advice from folk's who know their stuff, or are just willing to toss in their two cents. 1. I'm completely uncomfortable trying to make the turret, as it has a certain shape that I find very difficult to replicate, and I don't want to put something on this tank that I don't feel is authentic and respectful to the real vehicle, any advice on how to tackle this piece is appreciated. 2. I've never managed to successfully make a respectable texture for the vehicle's I've made, and was wondering if anybody could offer me some aid/advice on how I should go about whipping up some proper, decent quality textures, especially camo-type textures like so: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/22/73/1a/22731a4726741d178a36c884679c524f--carri-armati-model-tanks.jpg Keep in mind I don't have access to Photoshop, but I have installed Gimp. 3. I've got a plugin on Blender (ArmA Toolbox is the name) which allows me to convert my model from Blender to ObjectBuilder with LOD's and such attached, but I'm unsure how to go about creating those LOD's in either program since I'm a dummy, if someone could enlighten my dysfunctional brain, that'd be wonderful. 4. I've tried finding information on the specifics of getting a tank into ArmA 3, config and ObjBuilder wise, but I can't find much at all beside's the WIKI, which I have difficult grasping, am I just dumb or is this stuff not well documented? I think I've mentioned everything I was worried about but just for clarity's sake, I'd like to mention that I am eager to get into the whole process, as I've always wanted to create vehicles and weapons for my favorite game, but lacked the courage to ask the people who actually know how to do it. So yeah, that about wraps it up, thanks for taking the time out of your day to check and read this far, I really do appreciate it. Hopefully I put this in the correct area, if not I apologize and please move it, thanks!
  13. 345th Soviet Uniforms Mod Thank you for checking out this page. I'm from the 345th SGVAR Arma Unit. We have made some equipment for our latest campaign, and we would like to share it with everyone, due to the unexpectedly high quality. It is a bunch of 1970/80's Soviet equipment. We are a VDV unit at the core but we will also add equipment from other branches soon! We're super hyped to see various mod teams working on more Cold War content. Features: This mod contains uniforms, vests, backpacks and headgear to recreate the Soviet Armed Forces of the 1970s and 1980s Cold War Period. All uniforms/gear are compatible with Red Hammer Studios style uniforms and gear. This mod currently contains VDV and VMF equipment, but other branches are on the way. It also includes “roleplay” uniform variations that we use within the 345th SGVAR Arma 3 Unit. If you would like a slimmed down version of this pack that does not include rank shoulder boards, I suggest you download the Soviet Armed Forces mod, which will soon be updated! Future Plans & Bugfixes: We plan to include full sets of Motor Rifle (MSV), and Tank/Artillery equipment – including unique uniforms with rank variations, and unique service-appropriate gear with class variations. The mod is currently progressing rapidly, so expect regular updates. Please report any bugs you encounter here in the thread. Mod Contains: Full Set of M69 Field Uniforms (VDV), with ranks Ryadovoy to Major. Full set of M69 Barracks Uniforms (VDV), with ranks Ryadovoy to Major. Full set of M69 Uniforms (VMF), with ranks Ryadovoy to Major. 14. [ 345th Guards Airlanding Regiment ] - Company Sized Unit (35+ Attendance) - No Mandatory Attendance - Realistic Battles/Equipment - In House Mod-Team - Meritocratic Leadership --Event Times-- Saturday Campaign Event: 7PM UK | 8PM EU | 2PM EST Sunday Extra Event: 7PM UK | 8PM EU | 2PM EST Wednesday Extra Event: 7PM UK | 8PM EU | 2PM EST Privyet Tovarishch! The 345th is a comfortably casual realism unit, our goal is to make high quality, OPFOR orientated realism game play that is accessible to people who don’t want to deal with the stress and drama of more rigid milsim or realism units. We play our missions in the spirit of authenticity, with corresponding real-life equipment, tactics, and settings. We embrace the practical organisation and tactics of real life militaries – but reject “Yes Sir, No Sir” roleplay of some Arma communities. We have no mandatory attendance; as long as you're still interested you won't be removed from the unit, making us a good choice for serious Arma gameplay with unpredictable real life commitments. We play a Mechanised Airlanding Company (35+ player attendance for the main event) of 1970-1990s Soviet/Russian VDV Paratroopers Our approach is realistically low-tech and period appropriate; meaning only very limited use of optics, night vision, and radios. We believe this provides the best gameplay experience, with a greater focus on tactics, cohesion and camaraderie. We're blessed with an in-house mod team that creates great content for our missions; ensuring we can enjoy Cold War Arma to the fullest. In the near future, we may play a modern 2017 Syria campaign to shake things up a bit. Our main weekly event is a custom-made, Zeus-operated campaign. Each mission is linked together and the campaign evolves based on what happens each week. Each campaign lasts around 3-6 months, with around 12-24 missions in each. We're currently running a 1970s Altis Campaign, with some custom-made gear. We also run more varied, casual events throughout the week playing as anything from WW2 to Vietnam or even Modern. Mission Making/Zeusing is available to all - the high number of willing mission creators has been a huge factor in the dramatic growth of our unit over this past year. --Media-- Mechanised Warfare Chechnya Checkpoint Bunker to Bunker Vietnam Chill --Joining 345-- Our joining process is simple. You tell us you're interested, and we'll set you up with the mods (we use an extremely simple method!) - and then you come along and play as a guest. If you enjoy it, welcome aboard! You don’t need any experience and you won’t be forced into hours-long training - you’ll learn on the go as a Conscript during the events. We’re looking for 16+ EU/NA players who are reasonably mature. We're always looking for leaders and crewmen; we have a very limited number of leadership positions, but we fill them based on merit and interest, not time spent in the unit. If you're looking for a leadership role, make sure to volunteer for Team Leader positions when they are available; they're even open to Conscripts for Wednesday/Sunday events. 17. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint single mission "AMBUSH", using CUP USMC units. This one should resonate with some of us old school OFP players. I remember playing this demo mission from a demo disc attached to a PCGAMER mag back in the day, and I lost my mind at how amazing it was. The mission was a tough rock to crack. Very hard to get the AI to cooperate and for the mission to flow as it used too back in OFP. But finally, I've got it working to a playable standard. It's still hard though, you need to pull your weight in the squad and accept the fact the AI can be unpredictable. You'll probably need to revert to a save once or twice. So please enjoy this mission because I put a lot of work, time and effort into making it and getting it just right. Link to Steam Workshop ------- Ambush - OFP Remake
  18. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint single mission "Commander", using CUP USMC units. Lead a squad of grunts on a mission to defeat the enemy forces in the area. You'll have a lot of armored units at your disposal. I've also made it CO-OP for you to enjoy with a mate or two. Link to Steam Workshop ------- Commander - OFP Remake
  19. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint single mission "Rat Hole", using CUP Russian Federation units. Take your KA-52 and use it to smash the enemy’s base! I've replaced the V-80/KA-50 single seat helo to the KA-52 twin seat, mostly because this mission is almost impossible to play without a gunner to help you, and it just wasn't enjoyable. I've also made it CO-OP so you can play with a gunner. Link to Steam Workshop ------- Rat Hole - OFP Remake
  20. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint single mission "War Cry", using CUP US ARMY units. A large-scale combined arms operation. Liberate the town of Mirov in central Nogova, currently held by renegade Russian troops. I've also made it CO-OP so you can play with some friends. Link to Steam Workshop ------- War Cry - OFP Remake
  21. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint campaign mission #34 "Incursion", using CUP USMC units. Sneak into General Guba's compound and locate the documents containing the locations of the SCUD launchers on Kolgujev. Have fun Link to Steam Workshop ------- Incursion - OFP Remake
  22. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint campaign mission #15 "Tank Rally", using CUP USMC units. Give the Ruski's a run for their Rubles in your M1A1, and help support the infantry at Chapoi as part of Yankee Platoon. Enjoy Link to Steam Workshop ------- Tank Rally - OFP Remake
  23. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint campaign mission #13 "Pathfinder", using CUP USMC units. As a machine gunner, assault the village of Saint Marie and Chapoi. Take out the self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) systems (ZSU-23-4 "Shilka") so that air support can be brought in to deal with heavy armor guarding the towns. This mission was one of my favorites. It can be tough, but well worth it once you get to finish it successfully. You may have to try it a few times, your squad may make it to the end or you might end up being on your own. It plays out very much the same as the original OFP mission did which i'm very happy with. Enjoy Link to Steam Workshop ------- Pathfinder - OFP Remake e
  24. A remake of the Operation Flashpoint campaign mission #32 "Counterstrike", using CUP USMC units. Assault the Ruski controlled territory of Kolgujev with your fellow Marines after the air assault. Enjoy :) Link to Steam Workshop ------- Counterstikre - OFP Remake
  25. I have a question concerning the details of a scenario I'm in the process of working. I'd like to simulate being part of the 11th ACR at the height of the Cold War in the 80's, roughly around the time of Able Archer 83. My problem is I can't find with exact detail the precise components of an Armored Cavalry Troop, which is roughly the same as an Armored Company. I'm aware that 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment was broken up into Squadrons, with each having an HQ Troop, 4 Armor Troops, and an Anti-Tank Troop. I know that the Armor Troops had 4 M1 Abrams each, however I'm unaware of the composition of the HQ and AT Troops. It is these I'd like to represent with some detail, which I've been unable to find. I'm aware it's a somewhat lengthy and kind of out there request, but if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!
