  1. INTRO FAST2 is an extensive rewrite of FAST, which was a project I started to help automate and speed up the deployment of Arma 3 servers on Windows. The UI needed updating and the code was messy and inefficient. This new and hopefully improved version has more features and better stability than FAST. Thanks go out to all the guys who helped test this version before release with special mentions to Kju and JamieKG for their continuous bug reports and testing.   2. Hey everyone, we have released a first iteration of the Linux Dedicated Server as reported in SITREP #38. It's still a little bit experimental so we would very much appreciate your feedback and experience running it. Please report any bugs to our Feedback tracker (use the fields Platform, OS and OS Version to describe you distro as best as you can) while general feedback should go directly into this thread. There are some known issues so be aware of them when you run the server: Also note that java version 7 is required to run the server (even though it's disabled in-game) so you will have to set path to 'libjvm.so' correctly for your distro. Example usage on my debian: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-i386/jre/lib/i386/jamvm ./arma3server -netlog -config=Arma3_Server.cfg Enjoy!

  4. Intro After using Arma for a long time and having my own dedicated server, I always found very hard to keep my mods up to date. So I used Flax's tool (FAST) to make the whole thing work but there was some issues. The software tend to be quite slow sometimes, some menus are not working completely and the command output was a bit weird. I ended up building my own version of his tool, since it is not maintained anymore, by translating the entire code into something more recent, fixed the issues I found and reworked the code behind. Download You can find the latest release below : 64 bits Version 32 bits Version Extract the files somewhere on your computer and run FASTER.exe. I recommend creating a shortcut to avoid the hassle of having to find the program. I'll work on adding automatic updates so you don't have to do it yourself. Tophes Arma Dedicated Server Tool (TADST) v3.1.0 by Tophe of Östgöta Ops [oops] >>>DOWNLOAD FROM ARMAHOLIC<<< Link if Armaholic is overloaded: HERE =============================================== 1 MINUTE HOW-TO QUICK GUIDE TADST v3.1.0 The Armed Assault series allows an amazing array of settings to freely customize dedicated servers. This means you will have to edit quite a few config files to get it running the way you like. TADST is a tool that will greatly simplify this. All you need to do is to choose the settings you like. Then the application will create all necessary files according to your settings and start the server with the appropriate arguments. All necessary files will be created in a folder called 'TADST'. You can save different profiles to easily switch between server setups. In the folder TADST a new folder for each profile will be created. This folder contains all files associated to the profile. INSTALLATION ============= Copy the file 'TADST.exe' to your Arma game folder. * Note that it's important that the file is in the game root folder i.e. C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3 * If you are upgrading from an earlier version of TADST you should delete your old TADST folder so the program can create new settings files. You also need to have .NET installed. QUICK START ============= Set up your firewall. To run a dedicated server you must make sure you have set port forwarding correctly in your firewall/router. Normally you need the ports 2302-2305 to be open. Click the port info button to get info on your selected ports. Set Server Name and Server File TADST is set to start the server with default settings so the only two things you need to set to get a server up and running is Server Name and Server File. If you double click the text fields, TADST will try and set appropriate values.   8. Just today me and another two friends were trying to play the Apex campaing, I hosted the server and checked the UPnP box, and we could play normally, we completed the first mission no problems. After a while Steam servers went into maintenance (you know, Tuesday's maintenance), so they lost connection. I hosted the game again and one of my friends was able to join, but the other one wasn't, it's just him. When he joins, there are messages saying "connecting", then "connected" and finally it disconnects with no error. We tried restarting Steam, our PCs, changing profiles, joining while playing the mission, we also tried other game modes. I tried port forwarding and opened the following ports: 2302 2303 2304 2305 27000 27050 3478 4379 4380 2344 2345 8766 Found all of those around internet, some are from steam and others from battleye, all of them were correctly opened and I checked it using a software, also my friends can now join without using UPnP so it clearly works. I also made a ping to his IP and the packets are successfully received. After all of this, he still can't join. Have any ideas? I really want to play the campaing and other modes co-op. Note: I don't have any mods loaded, neither does him
  9. we've been banging our heads against this for days now. we're trying to host a server. everything works and as far as i can see there are no errors. but the moment someone tries to join. this happen :
  10. So after I reinstalled windows 10 my microphone hasn't been working in this one specific server. It worked before reinstalling Windows. I tested with another Arma profile and it didn't help. To my surprise I tried a couple of other servers and it worked on all of them. My working microphone is set to default in windows, it works in steam, I tried running steam and Arma in administrator mode, creating new Arma profiles, reinstalling Arma, checking microphone drivers, restarting PC. Before you ask, no I have not been banned from talking on the server, I checked 😂. My voice shows as transmitting but no sound is coming out. Specs : I5-7600k@4.6ghz, Windows 10, Nvidia GTX 1060, Asus prime z270-a. Headset is steelseries arctis 3
  11. Hello, So I love arma 3 and I wanted to reinstall it and get into it again but oh well it doesnt work anymore what I get is a game that launch correctly but that can't join any servers. I click on join and then , no sign of life, only the tanoa map and waves sound. It gets kinda annoying and now I dont know what to do. When I play solo it works the game loads and I am in. But whenever I try to join a server I get stuck on tanoa map. And sometimes when I try to host a server the game crashes with a black screen and tells me : 0xC0000005 - ACCESS_VIOLATION I don't understand why. And I really want to play a3 My Config I7 4790k Gtx 980ti Ram 8gb Asus Rog maximus Hero VII If anyone could help me I would be really happy ! I have 2 crash reports :

Frequent mini Operations and training. A unit discord to chat and plan. A Teamspeak for the operations or just to chill on. A website. And you don't need to bring much : A headset.   13. Hey guys, as i bought the Creator DLC, i first edited the new Wefelingen map in the EDEN Editor for a little nice base for my ZEUS missions. When i had it finished, i uploaded it to my Nitrado Server via FileZilla. As i joined in the lobby, the lobby started "flashing" with errors in the bottom left corner. I already put the "-mod:gm" in the modification field. And i tried it again with no assets or other buildings. I simply have the spawn and the roles on the map. I tried it with the winter map and the normal map. As i cant edit the files i dont know how to fix it. The only mods i have loaded are: - Achilles - CBA_A3 I hope you can help me 🙂
  14. Hi all, I picked up the game this week on steam and already played some funny hours. But I am experiencing an worse Ping every day. I started at 35 ms on Launch Day(Steam), and now I am at barely 100 ms. And as you may know, the Ping is an important thing in FPS's.......... So I wanted to ask, if it just me, or if other People are experiencing the same. -ThunderZz

    Improved game hosting

    Hi Lately I've been playing some Arma 3 and when hosting a game notices an issue. I start hosting and everything seams ok on my end my friends can start joining my server vie steam invite but can not join. Apparently I can't host games due to what I understand is a Strict NAT. I tried solving this issue but at least here in Poland one needs to pay extra their internet provider or use Hamachi. So my question is do I understand this matter correctly and is there another perhaps better solution than Hamachi? How is it that other games get around this? Apparently I can host other games such as stellaris, hearts of iron 4, ghost recon wildlands, monster hunter world and some more. Where can I suggest such a feature?

Hello, so i have a Problem joining my Server if verifySignatures is set to 2. i get an error joining my Mission saying session lost, if i Change it to verifySignatures = 0; i can join without any Problem but the Problem is People can join with mods and hacks is there any way to fix this Problem ?   21. Hey guys, I m trying to automate some things on my linux server. In this case I try to autoupdate bikeys and mods but my method is not as good as I wish to. I know howto download a mod (vcomai) via steamcmd like this: /steamcmd.sh +login steamname mysecretpasswd +workshop_download_item 107410 721359761 +quit but this command downloads the whole mod every time and this is annoying if I want to update 2 times a day. So my first question is if there is a way to just check if the mod is updated and then download it? Like as I do while updating the server with those "validate" option. I tried /steamcmd.sh +login steamname mysecretpasswd +workshop_download_item 107410 721359761 validate +quit but that seems just to download the whole mod. The second thing is that I m looking for a way to download the bikey only for some mods. This is thought for updating bikeys of mods which are used client side only and which I want to allow on my server like some sound mods and particle mods. Is there a way to do this? Any help is very appreciated. Cheers EDIT: okay, first question was nonsense as steam seems to remember which version is already downloaded. But the second thing remains. I dont want to download all allowed (on my server) client side mods to my server just to get the new bikeys. Is there a way to get that key files only? I guess its not :-(
  22. Server Transfer System v1.0.3 The Server Transfer System (STS for short) is an addon that allows for the transferring of players from one server to another. STS is based off the code KillZone_Kid shared with his final post here. Expanding on KillZone_Kid's work, STS hides the transfer behind an overlay, making a nearly-flawless transition from one server to another. The transfer overlay will eventually allow customization, but currently is simply a black screen with "Please Wait" up top. This addon does not handle the saving, storing, nor transferring of character data. That will need to be handled by the end user. To transfer a client, the server must remoteExec STS_fnc_Transfer. Hello, I wonder if is there a way of getting out of a waitUntil loop in the case when a script is remoteExec on the server in the init.sqf with player passed as argument and when the player disconnect from the server? I have this line of code working perfectly for the Server Host: openMap true; MapClicked = false; onMapSingleClick "HHH setPos [_pos select 0,_pos select 1, 0] ;(group transportHeli) move _pos; MapClicked = true; onMapSingleClick ''; true;"; Where HHH is the name of a Helipad placed on the Eden Editor. That previous line does not work in MP of course since when a client calls the script the helicopter with crew (also placed via Editor) nor the Helipad move to the onMapSingleClick location. I've tried the following remoteExec code: onMapSingleClick "[HHH,[_pos select 0,_pos select 1, 0]] remoteExec ["setPos", HHH]; [(group transportHeli),[_pos]] remoteExec ["move", (group transportHeli)]; MapClicked = true; onMapSingleClick ''; true;"; But I get this error: Error SETPOS: TYPE ANY , EXPECTED OBJECT. If I remove: "[HHH,[_pos select 0,_pos select 1, 0]] remoteExec ["setPos", HHH]; And just leave: [(group transportHeli),[_pos]] remoteExec ["move", (group transportHeli)]; Then the error is: Error MOVE: TYPE ANY , EXPECTED OBJECT. But I double checked and the location of both the SetPos and Move commands on the remoteExec are in the correct location and should be working... BIS BUG? Any ideas on how I can solve this issue and/or any other method to get the client to move the server placed helicopter on command? Thanks in advanced.
