Free version with lower quality textures and sounds. SP missions and campaigns are not available. Do note that it is NO LONGER MP compatible to the converted FULL version at all! Read the full statement on discontinued support for the IFA conversion (IFA3 FULL). . # What is different to previous releases Reduced to a single modfolder for simple install and use. Available on Steam workshop for simple install and automated updating. Bumped textures from 128x128 to decent looking 512x512 resolution (2048x2048 in FULL version). Native TFAR and ACRE support for radios available. Largely restructured mod for smaller updates. Improved sounds for some assets (more to come). Winter reskins of most assets. Desert reskins of many assets. # Why is it called Preview version This version contains still some issues we are aware of or some we are not aware of. :) However we want to provide people finally with an easy-to-use, hassle free, up-to-date and decent quality LITE version to be able to enjoy WW2 in Arma 3. . In addition we mainly more feedback on the scripted features - especially in MP environment. Known issues: Visual artifacts with some old backpacks. Sound volume off for a few remaining vehicles and infantry weapons. Effects to be improved (ie tank firing FX). PhysX for car and tanks to be improved further. We will support and continue to improve the new Arma 3 LITE version: Further polish (less bugs and better performance). Add the remaining new A3 technology not yet available. We also want to achieve as good compatibility as feasible with other mods - most importantly the other WW2 mods. To achieve this we are replacing the scripted systems (artillery, towing, etc) with native A3 engine functionality as much as possible. Switch to Old's Real Armor Mod system (and redo a few the remaining missing scripted functionality) Standalone release of the terrains - maybe even the terrain objects separate as well for terrain designers to make use of.   2. UPDATE FOV has been reverted to vanilla standard (.25) upon common request. A seperate download for a patch for hard FOV (.5) will be available if requested. INTRODUCTION There're plenty of WW2 mods in the community (IFA3, FOW, Massi WW2 units etc). Many of them are quite well-made, however, they're rarely meant to be compatible with each other. An JS2 from IFA3 can never defeat a Cromwell from FOW mod, for example, since 2 mods use different standard of damage, armor and hitpoints for their tanks. The same goes for rifles, grenades, AT weapons, LBEs, helmets. This has made WW2 game-playing in Arma3 quite confusing for players (one K98 is much powerful than another, and they sound differently), and every community WW2 mission-maker who ambitiously wishes to use a vast content of community WW2 mods has to face the fact of in-compatibility, and has to solve the problem on his own. This calls for a set of integrated, inter- compatible community mods, where JS2 can defeat Cromwell, and all small arms use the same / compatible magazines and sound the same. I've been working alone for weeks to achieve this goal, and now it's nearly complete. There's nothing glory like new models or new planes or what, but dirty work of config files, wikipedia, re-calculation, scripts and testing. MAIN FEATURES 1.Complete overhaul of ammo config for IFA3, FOW, Massi WW2 units and IFA3 Liberation. Tanks can now shoot each other! With nice penetration and Beyond-armour effect! 2.Many minor adjustments to fix / improve / correct. Example: a.Using IFA3's M2 flamethrower no longer removes your grenade. One of a number of bug fixes for the above source mods. b.Detailed, vanilla-styled text description for all smallarms & magazines. And penetration info, if it's an AT weapon. c.Data of weapons, ammo and magazines of all mods have been re-calculated to follow vanilla weight-mass, energy-hit, penetration-caliber standard. Wanna see a fight between modern and WW2 soldiers? Now they're on the same stage! d.IFA3's built-in Alarm9k's Smarter Tanks script has been optimized to have minor performance impact in huge tank battles! AI tank crew have been trained to better use APCR rounds & autocannons as well! 3.Cross mod integration. Example: a.Magazine compatibilities. FOW guns are good with IFA3 magazines. b.Weapons, magazines & ammo of the same type share the same stats. initSpeed, mass, hit, caliber and advanced ballistic data. c.All smallarms of the same type now share the same firing sound. Each unified weapon sound is hand-picked from best quality contents of all mods. and enhanced by JSRS! d.All WW2 mods now share a same pool of combined high quaility icons, sounds and animations. 4.A customized version of ACE3. a.An improved advanced medical system. No more magical PAK! To treat a patient, restore his blood pressure and heart rate. b.Improved magazine repacking system with Cross type repacking supported. c.Working penetration-protection system for helmets and vests. Authentic bullet-proof vests and helmets! d.All WW2 smallarms are ACE Advanced Ballistic ready. Re-live your life as a WW2 sniper. e.And grenades got their ACE Fragmentation data! Not bad being a WW2 grenadier too! f.AI soldiers will shoots less straight if they're suffering from ACE pain & bloodloss. No more ironman! Shoot their legs and they'll fall down! 5.Personal addition (ideas while doing data searching). Example: a.FOW Japanese Army are now equipped with mod added Type 94 Smoke Candle, replacing their M83 Smoke Grenade. b.Clip-based (instead of magazine-based) reloading for bolt-action rifles like K98 and Lee-Enfield. SVT-40 and G43 support clip reloading too. Reload your SVT with Style! c.Improved IFA3 M2 Flamethrower. The effect is really cool (see below). Or hot. d.M1A1 bazooka is now armed with new M10 Smoke Rocket with Working WP smoke. Now your enemies will think twice before bunching in a building. e.Shoot rifle grenades with correct ammo (blanks or wooden)! Or face the consequence. (well, they will only fall off because of the penetration, and will not explode) 6.Enhanced community mods for WW2 environment. a.Crash your enemy and Gib them with tank tracks! (Powered by BloodLust mod) b.Climb walls as you like, but stay away from ones with barbed wires, they're extremely dangerous! Slight "twitch" when someone or something fires nearby CamShake when shooting Body fall sounds and screams when a unit is hit Tweaked gun sway, & recoil guns are more solid, stable and smooth to shoot allowing you to concentrate more on your tactics and strategy Explosion dust, debris, lingering dust, and smoke Removed the peripheral dot HUD elements Removed the reload icon that shows with an empty magazine Disabled idle animations AI will copy your stance option 26 new faces with 5 faces from the Arma3 campaign Interaction between the player and objects ingame have increased so player is able to interact faster, also the icons have changed to reflect it The controls have been grouped based on their type so any control dealing with changing weapon use is grouped under that subject, goes for driving, flying, movement, aiming and many others Suppression effects Ragdolls will fall heavier and stiffer Bodies respond more to force from bullets and explosions - and will go flying during explosions rather than just fall to the ground. Unfoldable Map Blood, bleeding, blood splashes, gibs, and vaporization Knock on tanks - adds an ACE interaction allowing you to knock on the tank, alerting the crew. Knock a person unconscious Punch, kick, rifle butt, and apply take downs on your enemy Double weapon - allows you to carry two primary or secondary weapons, or a rifle and a submachine gun for example. More realistic fatigue enhanced editor features bullet casings for all infantry weapons (tweakable in userconfig included) Increase the amount a player can carry Ai can get wounded and become unconscious with animations and sounds Ais team mate will try to help by dragging injured guy and heal him, React to being hit, Injured Ai will die if not get help in 2 minutes, Ais talk with radio or yelling while firing tweak, and change values in the userconfig add new features from the included optional addons folder included is a demo mission which acts like a template - (see gameplay vid for details) and many more! ========================== Known bugs and Issues ========================== - Injured AI addon From the author "Just note that sometimes the script may show an error as _dragger variable not defined, that means the script didn't find any ais near the injured unit. Its ok, the script working normal most time.   4. So the deal is you guys can suggest missions or game modes you would want to play with Iron Front in Arma 3. The suggestions will continuously be added to a poll in here for people to vote on to express what they want to see most. Based on received permissions, most votes, and feasibility we will port then things one by one. :) Notes: Please provide a link to the release thread (to avoid confusion and make it easier to track the right one down). Preferably it should be A3 missions, as porting from A1/A2/OA can be quite complex and a lot of effort. Preferably it should be easy to port to new terrains. No dependencies to other mods (except for other community made terrains are OK) Not a plain mission just with WW2 equipment instead - strongly preferred are generic or dynamic systems.
  5. Hi guys, So, I'm a little confused now. What should I run to get the best available WW2 experience in ArmA 3? There are a ton of mods and micro-mods that add WW2 units, maps and what not, but what is the winners combo? How do Iron Front for ArmA 3 LITE (IFA3 LITE) relate to IFA3 Liberation ? How does Faces of War relate to the two? Or any of the others? What do you run if you want to have a compatible mod set that works with a good amount of WW2 missions without need to re-setup the dedicated server every time you change the mission? It was so easy with OFP when you only needed FDFmod 1.3 and 1.4 B-) Thanks, appreciate the time you spent answering my silly questions.

This is designed to work where you have 'enableSentences False' either on server or mission, adding dynamic sounds to units (on death, reload, low ammo, friendly fire, being sniped, nearby teammate is killed, killing an enemy, being shot-wounded etc.) for German, US and Russian factions (POL units sharing US sounds for now). It is similar to my other VO mod, this one uses Day Of infamy and Rising Storm sound samples for factions, well done native Russian and German voice-overs. Still needs lot of work, some sounds are not at equal level, some sound too loud some are silent in firefight etc. nonetheless, I've tested this properly and it is working fine. Hey i have opened a new IFA3 server because i noticed that there is not allot of servers on the list for the IFA3 Iron Front mod this server is completely public is just we have issues with the server crashing at random times and i would love to get this problem fixed so everyone can play and enjoy this great mod and expand the Iront Front Community.   24. Hey guys i have recently purchased a Arma 3 50 slot Server with the Iron Front IFA3 mod and i have noticed that the server is crashing at random times and dont know the issue. And would like someone with experience to put their hand in with the problem I have noticed people that currently have a server do not have that problem i dont know if i am using the wrong type of addons or what if someone could help me with this or take a look at the problem that would be great its frustrating having 20+ players playing and then it randomly crashes while in the middle of game.
