Warlords Defense Placement Issues with IFA3 Assets
ARMTRULES posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
So I've been trying to make a warlords scenario using IFA3 assets and I keep running into an issue where whenever I attempt to place a defensive static defense weapon it will spawn inside the player character, push him for half a second, and then disappear with the announcer stating "Action Canceled." There is no error message when this occurs. I've tried the offset in the description but it hasn't helped at all. I'm having a hard time figuring out what is going on. I was wondering if anyone else was having a similar issue and if they have found a fix for this. I'm all out of ideas.- 4 replies

ABOUT [RATS.ins] jujurat presents Orglandes, a 4km terrain that seeks to provide a playable, atmospheric, and engaging take on French countryside in WW2. Orglandes is a small town that was fought around during the allied assault on the way to Cherbourg. This terrain attempts to recreate Orglandes, and the areas around it in the approximate time period using references from old satellite images from the 1950s, and of course some fictional liberties taken to make the map playable for Arma. FEATURES 4km terrain that recreates northernish french countryside. Extensive bocage/foliage detail. Mostly accurate building placement (authentic as it can get with limited assets). Rolling hills, farms, and wheat fields. Footpaths that maneuver around the map and allow the player to explore multiple areas. Livonia lighting and foliage. (With some configuration edits to work well for this map too!) Fighting positions and ruins that accurately depict the events that unfolded in the areas around Orglandes. PLANNED FEATURES More trenches, defensive positions, etc. Custom soundscapes. Further detail on lackluster areas. Continued support and improvement based on community feedback. NOTES While I have released this map publically, it is still under development. Unlike most 'under development' maps on the workshop/release state, this one is very much playable and works fine without any issue. However, there are small (mostly cosmetic) issues that are going to be addressed and fixed with time. You may experience some trees on roads, roads not being aligned perfectly.. etc, all of which can be solved in your mission file, simply use the hide terrain objects module if you encounter any issues of this nature. Hello, I've been playing this SAS scenario using IFA3, then Pilgrimage ported to '44. There is this German sniper rifle, Kar98k ZF39, which is way harder to use that its British equivalent (whose name escapes me atm). Not only the K98 has much less magnification, which is probably authentic, but the worst thing is the automatic reload. While reloading the British one you keep looking through the scope and see where the bullets land, which is very helpful in this pre-laser era. With the German rifle, as soon as you've pulled the trigger and if it wasn't the last bullet in the clip, you automatically take your eye away from the scope to reload. So basically unless it's point-blank, you have idea where the bullets land and you are shooting blind. Is this normal? Is there a way to remedy to that? A manual reload would have been awesome.

You're part of "Sturmgruppe Stahl" with orders to secure strategic positions in a region south of Kiev. Support the attack with supplies and Stuka Airstrikes. Approx. 20-40 Min gameplay - depending on your skills. OPERATION BACKGROUND Germany has launched Operation Barbarossa. The troops have crossed the boarder of Ukraine. The strategic goal is to encircle and trap the enemy in Kiev. Capturing the roads to Kiev southeast of the capital will enable the mobile forces to perform a fast advance towards Kiev. AUTHORS NOTE I've worked around 200 hours for that mission including self developed scripts and user testing. I've tried to combine some historical accuracy with some gameplay and scripting ideas. So please bare in mind not everything is historical correct - it's still a game and should be entertaining. I hope you like it. LANGUAGE German and English FUTURE PLANS If you LIKE this mission please let me know. I plan to release a whole mini campaign "ROADS TO KIEV" in the future. UPDATE FOV has been reverted to vanilla standard (.25) upon common request. A seperate download for a patch for hard FOV (.5) will be available if requested. INTRODUCTION There're plenty of WW2 mods in the community (IFA3, FOW, Massi WW2 units etc). Many of them are quite well-made, however, they're rarely meant to be compatible with each other. An JS2 from IFA3 can never defeat a Cromwell from FOW mod, for example, since 2 mods use different standard of damage, armor and hitpoints for their tanks. The same goes for rifles, grenades, AT weapons, LBEs, helmets. This has made WW2 game-playing in Arma3 quite confusing for players (one K98 is much powerful than another, and they sound differently), and every community WW2 mission-maker who ambitiously wishes to use a vast content of community WW2 mods has to face the fact of in-compatibility, and has to solve the problem on his own. This calls for a set of integrated, inter- compatible community mods, where JS2 can defeat Cromwell, and all small arms use the same / compatible magazines and sound the same. I've been working alone for weeks to achieve this goal, and now it's nearly complete. There's nothing glory like new models or new planes or what, but dirty work of config files, wikipedia, re-calculation, scripts and testing. MAIN FEATURES 1.Complete overhaul of ammo config for IFA3, FOW, Massi WW2 units and IFA3 Liberation. Tanks can now shoot each other! With nice penetration and Beyond-armour effect! 2.Many minor adjustments to fix / improve / correct. Example: a.Using IFA3's M2 flamethrower no longer removes your grenade. One of a number of bug fixes for the above source mods. b.Detailed, vanilla-styled text description for all smallarms & magazines. Unfoldable Map Blood, bleeding, blood splashes, gibs, and vaporization Knock on tanks - adds an ACE interaction allowing you to knock on the tank, alerting the crew. Knock a person unconscious Punch, kick, rifle butt, and apply take downs on your enemy Double weapon - allows you to carry two primary or secondary weapons, or a rifle and a submachine gun for example. So the deal is you guys can suggest missions or game modes you would want to play with Iron Front in Arma 3. The suggestions will continuously be added to a poll in here for people to vote on to express what they want to see most. Based on received permissions, most votes, and feasibility we will port then things one by one. :) Notes: Please provide a link to the release thread (to avoid confusion and make it easier to track the right one down). Preferably it should be A3 missions, as porting from A1/A2/OA can be quite complex and a lot of effort. Preferably it should be easy to port to new terrains. No dependencies to other mods (except for other community made terrains are OK) Not a plain mission just with WW2 equipment instead - strongly preferred are generic or dynamic systems.

Hi guys, So, I'm a little confused now. What should I run to get the best available WW2 experience in ArmA 3? There are a ton of mods and micro-mods that add WW2 units, maps and what not, but what is the winners combo? How do Iron Front for ArmA 3 LITE (IFA3 LITE) relate to IFA3 Liberation ? How does Faces of War relate to the two? Or any of the others? What do you run if you want to have a compatible mod set that works with a good amount of WW2 missions without need to re-setup the dedicated server every time you change the mission? It was so easy with OFP when you only needed FDFmod 1.3 and 1.4 B-) Thanks, appreciate the time you spent answering my silly questions.

This is designed to work where you have 'enableSentences False' either on server or mission, adding dynamic sounds to units (on death, reload, low ammo, friendly fire, being sniped, nearby teammate is killed, killing an enemy, being shot-wounded etc.) for German, US and Russian factions (POL units sharing US sounds for now). It is similar to my other VO mod, this one uses Day Of infamy and Rising Storm sound samples for factions, well done native Russian and German voice-overs. Still needs lot of work, some sounds are not at equal level, some sound too loud some are silent in firefight etc. nonetheless, I've tested this properly and it is working fine. Hello, I'm trying to host a modded server, however everytime I try to run a modded mission on it I get an error: "19:55:04 Warning Message: No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgPatches.ww2_objects_t_structures_if_buildings_t'. 19:55:04 Warning Message: No entry '.units'." and it goes back to the Mission Select Screen. server rpt log: any help is welcome

Hi All, I am having troubles getting the paradropping to work with the C47. Does anyone have tips or suggestions? I have tried using the RHS paradrop and this works, however they use the D5 parachute which is the russian chute and not the static line ww2 chute.. Thanks :)
