  3. What is United Frontline Operations? United Frontline Operations is a group for those who value not only the realism but the fun and the thrill that ArmA 3 has to offer. UFO consists of like-minded individuals centered around playing Arma in a serious manner. As a whole, we enjoy tactical realism in our gameplay and try to make things as serious and “down to earth” as possible. That being said, we don’t take things to the point where the fun is diminished (ranks, for example, are one thing that we do not enjoy). --- Requirements * We ask that members remain active in UFO and to interact with others the UFO community to help form stronger relationships between all players. * All members must recognize when to be serious. * Members must be able to effectively listen, interpret, and execute orders given to them in-game. * There is no official age requirement, however, if you are not mature around other community members and during gameplay sessions, you may be asked to leave the group. * English and a functioning microphone is required to be a part of UFO. * A short, simple familiarization training is required for new members to help train them in proper communication and to assure that all members can effectively accomplish their tasks on the battlefield. * While we primarily composed of members in North America and operate on EST time zones, we are open to everyone, regardless of geographical location. --- Rules 1. Listen to and follow instructions given by superiors. 2. Be a team-player, both in and out of the game. 3. Don't beg for roles or responsibilities. 4. The original Squadron was a training squadron in World War I and a bomber squadron in World War II. The Squadron has since fictionally been reformed under No. 82 Wing as an Air Combat Squadron. We are a roleplay/milsim unit that does not aim to fully simulate the real RAAF tactics and techniques, but provide a semi-serious milsim-type environment with tactics that make sense and function with ArmA 3. Obviously, our main objective is to create a fun clan with a friendly community. No. 7 Squadron currently operates mostly on public servers and does not use any mods. Zeus will be our main game-mode. No. 7 Squadron currently has no set training or operation times, as a fresh clan. Training will typically be carried out in civilian aircraft. Recruits will move up to military aircraft after the most vital parts of their training. We will alternate between Rotary-wing and Fixed-wing Aircraft Missions, and sometimes have a mix.     The 1st Cavalry Wants you! The 1st Cavalry is looking to bring in new members. We are split into two groups that's 1st Cavalry and the 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force). It originally did not have a set purpose or goal other than to enjoy the sessions we just so happened to play. However after about a year the attitude of GOL began to change to a more casual co-op focused style clan and then eventually to a serious tactical co-op clan. Since then GOL has been constantly improving itself over the years and when Armed Assault came around in 2006 the clan was far different from its original OFP days. GOL fell in love with the superb mod for Armed Assault, Advanced Combat Environment. This increased the realism of the game tenfold while making the game much more challenging. In the summer of 2009 BIS launched their third instalment of the game called ArmA II. The game has brought new challenges to the clan with a huge surge of new recruits and members. Therefore we have had to change the way to operate the clan in and out of game. ArmA2's time period allowed us to keep working on new ideas and new systems to allow the clan to operate more and more effectively. Complete with our ups and downs this clan has grown into something which was never expected back when the clan was first founded and has really impressed the masses with its very long and established history. I'm building a multiplayer mission using ALiVE, ACE, and some other mods, which is intended to be a big 3 way factional battle, with BLU_F and OPF_F to be playable while leaving IND_F unplayable as the initial occupying force to be conquered. So far so good, still tweaking some of the objective modules and taors for balance, but I already have the support and logistics all functioning well thanks to lots of reading and studying of wikis. I can call in artillery and airstrikes just fine, and so on. I must admit, however, that I'm not a very good scripter and I often have to look up how others have done things in order to figure out something. My understanding of it, in regards to everything from syntax to eventhandlers is very very limited, so thanks in advance to this great, very knowledgeable community. So here's my question: I currently have players spawn in solo, ungrouped to any AI, but I want the player to have the option, with a radio command, to spawn a group of their choosing (one of the presets from the cfgGroups list I suppose), and have it join them under their command. As a second feature, when the unit the character is playing dies I would like the player to have the ability to respawn in the group, taking control of one of the other AI in his squad, which I generally already know how to set up IF the units are already set to be "playable" (respawn = 4; in description.ext), but have no idea how to set up if we spawn them ingame as initially unplayable AI. I have no idea how to do this. I have tried other options, such as just linking an unplayable group to the player in the editor, or even making all the units in the group playable for selection, but I ran into various issues, such as not being able to command the group if I selected a unit other than the leader to play from the lobby (obviously) or just having too many units spawning all over waiting for another player to join in order to command them all, or if I want to play ungrouped I'd have all these hangers on. All these issues I felt severely limited my options and I was getting rather frustrated. I finally decided, that for what I want to do, giving an initially solo player the chance to choose a group to command or none at all would be a fun option for the player and lead to a great range of diverse outcomes for how they want to experience the mission. Please bear with me and my lack of knowledge in this, and any help that leads to a solution is greatly appreciated.

  13. Foxhound specializes in combined arms and small unit tactics, but we don't take ourselves too seriously and we get it done while having fun. We have a private server online 24/7 that is currently configured to run the Antistasi mission, but we run different maps, game modes, and are looking forward to PvP. We are active and there is always something going on, whether it's a coordinated operation or just a couple of shady guys working on perfecting the Irish car bomb. We have integrated Task Force Radio into our TeamSpeak 3 server and have our own workshop collection of mods in Steam, listed as FXHD in the Collections section.   14. As the title says, Is there a mod out there which allow remote control of a squad member? Like in the normal "menu" where you order the AI, i would like an option to remote control them if i want to without zeus. If there isn't a mod out there. Is it hard to make one? Cheers.
  15. The 9th JSOC is a milsim community that will tackle any operation, large or small with special tactics and teamwork. We have a private server that we play on with a few great mods installed. We have an immense ranking system that is based off the army.     Zeus and squad reformation

    I have looked and cannot find, but if i am on a server and have units under my direct control and leave and rejoin the session i do not know how to make those AI units back into my squad in direct control. this should be a drag and drop thing but its NOT. i should be able to select units and drag them into my squad very quickly and simply. if i am doing something wrong please tell me, otherwise it should be a simple drag and drop in zeus.

We've been an active group for over two years now and we're looking at doing something for the community, something for groups similar to ourselves Our mission devs have created a number of team based PvP scenarios that we know you're going to enjoy. The plan as we see it is to gather a certain number of groups who want to test their metal in the field to participate in the first annual Viking PvP Tournament. The basic format will be as follows; squads will be pitched in knock out rounds until we have two squads left (final). They will fight it out on the battlefield for first place. We will host the event server and teamspeak server, so all you need to do is show up and play. The missions are 8v8 objective based PvP missions but of course if you can only field 7 men on the day then we'll make sure to match you with a squad of the same numbers. This is something we'll all discuss on the day before we kick off the event. We will also be streaming the event but you are of course free to stream it to your followers too. 7th of January 12:00 GMT noon start time See you there!   21. 23rd TRU is looking for a few more players for weekly special ops missions. We focus on challenging, teamwork oriented missions while taking out the boring parts that make up a true mil sim. Spots are limited but we will be hosting small recruiting missions this week in order to give players an opportunity to join us.
  22. Who are we? Black Tails is an European, casual milsim Arma unit. We have been playing together since early Arma 2 days. Are you interested in a casual and friendly community? We're recruiting! What do we do? We play PvE and PvP, casual milsim missions on Sundays at 20:00 GMT+1. Anybody can select any available role that they want, as long as they fulfil their role and don't go running off on their own. We occasionally also run training missions for those who want to learn more about Arma. Do you use mods? Yes. We mainly use mods like ACE3, ALIVE and TFAR, for added immersion. We also use weapon, unit and map mods when needed. But we keep the number of mods and file sizes to a very reasonable level. What do we expect? The only real requirements we have is that members are nice to each other, act in a mature way and are team players. We don't have a minimum age or skill requirement. Summary: Two teams fight for control of pre-defined sectors using limited assets — the team with a majority of sectors held bleeds the others tickets, with the match ending when one team reaches 0 tickets. The intent of this missions is balanced and fun infantry combat. Armed vehicles have limited respawns and longer respawn timers than their soft-skinned counterparts, and the better equipt classes have fewer available slots than standard riflemen. My friend who worked on this mission and I are hoping this resembles gameplay you'd get from games like Project Reality or Battlefield's Conquest game-mode — except in ARMA. Feature list: Respawns available at your base and on your Squad Leader's rally point (Destroyed on Squad Leader's death) Lightweight niceties like earplugs, squad name markers, health display (all toggleable, F1-F5 keys) Custom bleeding values using RHS ammo class names (So larger calibers can cause higher tiers of bleeding) Custom medical - very slow health regeneration that can be somewhat sped up by sitting down. This is to avoid players deciding to respawn (losing their team a ticket) if they're too badly injured to continue. Pre-defined classes with unique roles, while not being unfair — you won't get a rubbish PDW simply for going medic. RPG assistants also carry a disposable 1-shot launcher along with the ammo for their reloadable counterpart carried by the primary AT role. There are also two types of standard rifleman. Opfor have the choice of an AK74m or AK-103 rifleman, while Bluefor have the choice of an M4 or M16. Magnified optics are reserved for Designated Marksmen and Special Forces. Limited vehicle selection. While there is some asymmetry with vehicle loadouts, this is hopefully both balanced and flavoursome. Only the largest version (Athira) includes high-tier modern vehicles. This is primarily an infantry mission and we did not want thermals or high-power vehicle weapons / GMG's to be common. REQUIRED MODS: RHS: AFRF RHS: USF DOWNLOAD (current version: 1.01) : Steam Workshop: 32vs32: Pyrgos Kore Athira* 16vs16: Terminal * The Athira version is an experimental mission with one very large capture zone, plus high-tier vehicles and gear (Tanks, jets, high-end helicopters, plus a crate at base with static ATGM, GMG, and MG backpacks). Servers: N/A Future plans: If anyone actually plays this and likes it we might expand this mission with new areas (perhaps also on upcoming maps like Tanoa or Taunus), add extra features (BIS revive was tested but disabled in this release due to a bug with spawning), make prettier FOBs (The current bases are quite lazy but I wasn't going to waste time on immaculate item placement at such an early stage), add side missions or other random events. If you have feedback this is the place for it; there may still be some rough edges here and there, so if you notice a problem or have comments on balance/ticket values, let us know and we'll take that into consideration for the next iteration. The new 1.60 respawn screen also now appears to allow class limits, so we'll take a look at using that rather than the arma 3 lobby for role selection (so you can change your kit on respawn w/ a preview of its gear).

Hi everybody its been now 4 days i'm looking searching the net for a response but i can't find nothing that works, so this why i came here asking some help, as i'm sure its very simple to resolve, but i'm not a dev. i'm learning. i have a script that respawn on squad leader but the check to see if squad leader is alive doesn't work for some reason. if team leader is dead, players are able to respawn on his dead body, if the team leader is gone from the server, players can respawn on their own dead bodies. if team leader dies he can also respawn on his own dead body ! here is the code what is wrong ? player addEventHandler ["Respawn",if (leader player != player) && {alive (leader player)}) then _groupLead = leader player; player setPos ([_groupLead, 2, -(direction _groupLead)] call BIS_fnc_relPos); } else { systemChat "Group leader was not alive, you have respawned at base."; };
  25. How often does squad.xml refresh/load? I have a squad.xml file that randomly chooses an image every time it's loaded, and I'm wondering how often I'll be able to see the change ingame.
