I looked up how to delete addon dependency for a scenario I made, and I messed with the sqm, not much, I just changed the first two lines or so by copy and pasting from a scenario that didn't require those addons to this one. Both were the same map, stratis. But now it won't even open the scenario editor, even when I log in using those mods again!! I think there may be issue with it saying I'm only using one or two apex pieces, when I'm using all apex and even parts of the DLCs. But no mods. And i'm trying to get rid of anything that makes it mod dependent. raP j version 5 EditorData – addons A3_Characters_F_Exp AddonsMetaData Š that line right there^ is the new line. Everything else is old edit: some of the initial characters did not carry over, so the lines your're looking at above are not accurately portraying what the sqm file says.   4. I think music and other sounds add a lot of ambiance to certain types of missions and increase immersion. Right now I'm trying to make a mission based on the Second Battle of Fallujah and I want players using a 5t logistics truck to be able to listen to music from that era such as death metal or hip hop while driving down the highway. Using Say3D is the only way I know how to make this happen, but as everyone knows you're essentially deaf to any Say3D audio while inside of a vehicle. As it's set up currently there's a radio object that's attached to the dashboard using attachTo and the sound plays from the radio and not the truck. The truck has addactions on it that you can only use when inside the cab. These let you select "Death Metal", "Rap" and "Shut Off Radio" although the latter doesn't work right now because I can't figure it out (Tried setdamage 1 on the radio and it wouldn't shut off). I thought that placing the radio inside the truck and playing audio from that instead of playing it from the truck itself would fix the issue as this solution worked for me when developing a Vietnam mission a few years ago that needed helicopter music and it also worked in Arma 2 for a Cold War mission set in Germany, but this time it made no difference. The sound can clearly be heard outside of the truck, but once inside the cab its below a whisper even at x45 volume. Any assistance with resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated by both me and thousands of others googling the same thing along with the virtual troops in desperate need of a morale boost.     stupid mod dependencies

    I was playing around with ace and went on my wip mission and ace wasn't working very well so I disabled it after.   7. I had Ace 3 installed on Arma 3 when using the Eden Editor. I then decided to remove it, meaning I could no longer open my mission, so I looked up how to remove Ace 3 from my mission. A post on a forum suggested that I should remove any lines on my 'mission.sqm' file with the word 'ace3', so I did without backing up the file, and now when I try to open my saved mission an error pops up 'line 0: '.rap': ' ' encountered instead of '=''. Help would be much appreciated, thank you.

    .rap is the start of a binarized(rapified) file. You can use Arma 3 Tools CfgConvert. Or just load it in Eden. Under I think Attributes->General you can remove the check in the "save binarized" checkbox.

    Thanks for the reply! Well, the sqm file starts with the .raP string, its on the first line. I didn't binarize the file, I'm not eve sure what that means :) Can I somehow "unbinarize" it?

    You sent a binarized file. So, no way to help you with it. You broke your mission.sqm attenting to delete extra lines for non-used addons. error seems to occur where .rap exists. do you have this string somewhere in your file?

So if I make a mission with - for example - the ASR AI mod, something gets written to the mission .sqm file that then requires that addon to be present, even when that addon has no objects in the mission? (Same for the ACE mod.) Why oh why oh why. So if I disable the ASR AI mod I cannot use or edit the mission. That's it. All I can do is make the exact same mission again, but without that mod active. Even though it has no objects in the mission. Manually editing the reference out seems to just screw up the mission in a different way. ".rap encountered instead of =". Tell me it isn't so.

  19. I tried to read as much as I can to get the WLTanoa working but not having much luck. I copied all the content from the pbo file into the steam/missions folder but when i open ARMA 3 and choose Scenerios I get an error: File Missions/WLT/mission.sqm, line 0:raP': '(0)' encountered instead of '=' Do I still need to look into installing the sneak peak preview version since APEX is already live?

    When creating a trigger in the editor each machine in the game( server, clients) when loading the map will create their own copy of this trigger so each will run the code when the condition is met. Just rap the code in a isServer check so only the severs trigger spawns the crate.
  21. In rough terms when talking about configs, config.bin is what arma will make your config.cpp into at run time. Pre-creating the bin allows for faster loading times and I consider it good practice if you release stuff publicly and takes no time at all compared to all the other things you do. If you use Eliteness it takes about 5 seconds to raP-ify your config, including the select-where-to-save-your-file-dialog :) But let's stay on topic and happily await Rioukens' return :)

  25. Well. I don't think you're "an ugly baguette". It's just the idea that I personnaly find dumb. And yes you are free to do wathever you want. For the solution, I think you can get the state of the game with a server sided extension. Don't forget to Rap the mission then it's more difficult to edit.
