    Yer - I'd go with CTRG having Black MXs, conventional forces having SA80A3 due to budget issues (as might be expected from a global financial downturn alluded to in the Armaverse storyline). That way you avoid everyone looking like SF and it also means there's a difference between Brits and Americans in terms of some of the kit. If you went down the MX route for the Brits, I'd give the Brits the Black ARCO, since it looks a bit like the ELCAN LDS, whereas the RCO looks more like the ACOG. You could say the RCO. I like the way BIS went with the whole NATO being more integrated, but in practice I imagine it would be more haphazard (especially our side of the pond :P ), hence bugging you about the Mk 7 helmets previously @Night515.

    I imagine this is Day Z footage - seeing as that's their immediate focus. But potentially given how popular Chernarus is Bohemia might return to the Green Sea region in future.
  6. As tank commander, turn the laser designator on and point it to some ground/tree and use T to select the laser target, move laser onto the tanks, then use Ctrl+LMB to command fire. Tank commanding does require some work, as with the rest of Arma 3, but I imagine we'll have to wait until Arma 4.

    Tanks - Damage improvements

    While I'm really liking the improvements overall (especially the camo nets!), it's a shame not to have any damage of the optics or sensors from small arms simulated as it is with helicopters and planes. This is a good leveller in gameplay terms as it would mean infantry have a chance to take on tanks, and tankers would have to be more careful in how they attack. As it is, unless you've got multiple AT units (not talking about against other tanks), tanks are pretty invulnerable, when it reality you can brick a tank just as you can a helicopter. All I'm asking for is consistency really.

    I think we're basically saying the same thing. I totally agree on the merits side of thing - it's just I think BIS/ modders will have to try and get a sense of what will sell from the community and I think that's where the polls come in. BIS could poll the community (advertising on steam and armaholic etc.) and have specific themes (ie. air, marine, naval, civilian, mission pack) around what assets the community might like. BIS and prospective DLC modders would then have something to go on. I'd be particularly interested if that included additions to the engine/ base game - like slingloading or radar have done. To be fair we could do with some more civilian assets (*cough* women *cough*) to give mission makers more options. I don't care for Life stuff either but BIS will undoubtedly want to tap into that market in some form.

    I imagine this can only be achieved by a complete overhaul of the game - ie. making an entirely new one - ie. Arma4. I'm ok with this as that's what you'd expect from a company. I'm curious about the 3PDLC route. I think if it works like the official DLC we'll see good uptake. Perhaps BIS could collaborate with the community (polls, discussion threads) about the most wanted features/ units and then modders could have something to work from? Something like a strategic roadmap for content in the Armaverse. My worry otherwise is we'll just see very niche mods that won't sell or integrate the community. Also - what are BIS's plan for backwards compatibility in Arma4? Will mods like CUP have to completely overhaul configs etc. yet again? It seems a shame to constantly be losing all these hours of work that modders put in and making more work to keep content working.

    Coupe questions and offers for JETS DLC

    All of this could just be resolved if it was just optional - it's redundant given BIS aircraft now all have HUD target boxes anyway (you could just turn it on for addons that don't have it). Maybe in Tanks DLC they'll address it when looking at targeting with ground vehicles and AT launchers. Also - larger maps would be great given all the radar and targeting improvements. Having a carrier so close to a warzone feels wierd.
