I was able to identify the voices of several campaign characters (Adams, Kerry, Armstrong), but I can't identify Miller's voice. Are there any voiced lines for his character at all outside of the cutscenes, on gameplay? Along the lines of “Say again, over”, or “Bearing XYZ”? And if there are, which one is it from the British accents featured in the game? Thanks in advance for the answer.

Custom radio chatter using AI generated voices
vladsz posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hello everyone, I've been thinking about implementing some sort of AI radio chatter based on AI generated voices (for my future maps). I'm fairly new to ARMA scripting but so far I've found it pretty interesting. My plan is to convert some text to voice via any of the numerous voice AI generators available, and then to use it with the Conversations system/framework to give indications or to notify the player about some scripted events, for example. I prefer this alternative to recording my own voice since I'm not the most expressive human being 🙂 and my microphone is not the best. So far I've found an easy YouTube tutorial for creating a basic conversation between AIs, but only for natural voice (with no radio effect). My only issue is that I have no idea how to implement the radio chatter effect. I haven't yet found an AI voice generator which also applies specific effects to the generated voice. Does arma provide any tool for applying this effect or do I have to manually edit the natural voice, in Audacity for example? Also, is it mandatory to have an actor in order to "emit" a voice/radio chat? -

Arma 3 VoiceAttack profile (with role designation feature)
woofer808 posted a topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
UPDATE: About keyboard languages Due to the way VoiceAttack handles key codes for different keyboard layouts, some commands might not work as expected depending on what keyboard layout you are actually using. The profile was made with a Swedish keyboard layout and currently there is only the additional US English one. Squad commanding was broken for US and UK English users. I am still actively working on a system to fix this, but it turned out to be a bit complicated. For now your best bet is to contact me if you need another keyboard layout language pronto. --- This is an Arma 3 profile for VoiceAttack that I made for myself. There is a video if you don't like reading. https://youtu.be/r55_AaHHue4 It features a pretty cool feature that I like to play with called 'role designation'. It is a system for assigning military roles to units under your command so that they can be called using that instead of a unit number. The system works by first assigning and then calling - something like this for example: - [unit two], [assign AT] - [AT], [Open fire] It lets you forget about the squad bar. Main features: - Vanilla commands - Role designation - Efficient mode - Feedback mode - Immersive mode (i had to call it something) - Profile speed - Help by voice Download the profile and bundled sounds here https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B11iTl-bsyI6WU5kb0tmdFZKSVk There is a manual with all available commands https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dwBpdta-XL9BcMSzhzR3QOQBIG5loJDBvLQtnWDY510 Link to VoiceAttack forum post http://voiceattack.com/smf/index.php?topic=508.0- 48 replies

Very basic editing question about generic voice chat
leot85 posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hi guys, iv just started playing with the mission editor, and i am noticing that say if i am the leader of a squad and i issue a basic command to the squad to just move west 100 meters, there wont be the generic "all move west 100 meters" voice and radio command followed by the "copy" back from the squad. Or say we are a tank crew and i issue a command to disembark, there wont be the generic "all disembark" voice and radio chat. Am i missing something here i never remember having to set anything up for simple things like this? i know its going to be something stupid simple but i cant find any solutions so far. -
Anybody out there knows about an arabic voices mod? Anybody making one? At least is there anybody interested in making one? Any arabic speaker (whatever dialect you speak) willing to record some voices?

Is there some sort of guide online to adding custom dialogue into missions? I've looked around with no success. I have all the sound files I need, I just don't know how to add them in.

Create faction with custom faces/voices/facewear
Tova posted a topic in ARMA 3 - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hello ! I'm trying to create a faction using a config.cpp, I am able to give them the gear I want, but I am struggling to make units with a the right subset of faces/voices/facewear. For example, I'd like to have units featuring only : African faces, chinese voices and sunglasses only. I strongly believe that to achieve this I have to edit indentityTypes in the CfgVehicles : identityTypes[] = {"LanguageENGB_F","Head_NATO","G_NATO_default"}; But I couldn't find any description of the content of the fields, nor a list of the Languages and Heads "pools" I can use in identityTypes. Would somebody mind sharing some information ?- 1 reply

Im Curious if there is a voice chat or will be some sort of voice chat in the final game or preview since its a pretty quiet game i think adding a voice chat will be pretty cool since you be able to communicate with the person attacking you or you're attacking. Thoughts?

This is designed to work where you have 'enableSentences False' either on server or mission, adding dynamic sounds to units (on death, reload, low ammo, friendly fire, being sniped, nearby teammate is killed, killing an enemy, being shot-wounded etc.) for German, US and Russian factions (POL units sharing US sounds for now). It is similar to my other VO mod, this one uses Day Of infamy and Rising Storm sound samples for factions, well done native Russian and German voice-overs. Still needs lot of work, some sounds are not at equal level, some sound too loud some are silent in firefight etc. nonetheless, I've tested this properly and it is working fine. NOTE: I've only tested with IFA3_LITE so I don't know its compatibility with other mods. Download/subscribe: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1361160962

Voice chat - i can hear others, but cannot speak myself
WurschtBanane posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Simple issue, which i didnt have before: My microphone works fine, it lets me speak in applications like TeamSpeak3 or Discord. But when i try to use it for VON, other people cannot hear me. I can still hear them, though. I know that i have to switch through channels, that is not the issue here. I had this problem since 1 week at least, but a few days ago i was still able to use the direct communications channel, but now even that one does not work. When i try to test voice in steam, it appearantly does not recognize my microphone input, so that might be part of the issue.- 1 reply

I am making an arma 3 mission. But I need people to voice my characters. You don't need any experience all you need is a voice and a decent mic. If you do, PM me and we will talk. The mission is during the Vietnam War and using UNSUNG.

I'm currently making a campaign and I require some professional voice actors for future missions. I'm looking for at least one voice actor that can do a greek accent and one voice actor that can speak Iranian or Arabian. Regards Ice Light

I've checked the wiki and did a brief search on Google on how to control a player's microphone or VON volume settings via scripting commands, similar to fadeSound/fadeRadio/fadeSpeech, etc. but haven't found what will actually change the volume a player receives or transmits voice-over-net in multiplayer. I'm assuming the command doesn't exist and would require some kind of intricate scripting or addon to actually work, but I'm hopefully I am wrong. Anyone know methods on how to do this? [EDIT] At the moment, I'm using the enableChannel command locally, but I'd rather have the individual's voice lowered and still able to receive on same channel, if possible. ALSO, is it possible to remoteExec or remoteExecCall a createVehicle command? The question is related.

Would You like to see Mumble's LINK - 'open plugin' implemented into ARMA 2?
Dwarden posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Simple question and simple answer. If you ask: Why when game also use VON? Then answer is: Imagine it as 'addition' or 'expansion' to VON and NOT as replacement! Fully optionable. Mumble's Link can be used by any other application including TeamSpeak 3 etc. What exactly would this mean is not implementing whole Mumble but only linking to Mumble via Link plugin : http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Link * this will allow positional placement of voice according to ingame world coordinates etc. Why Mumble ? it's opensource and technology wise outperforms other solutions on market HomePage : http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ Mumble's future plans : http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Upcoming Mumble's Access control list & Group system : http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ACL_and_Groups Mumble's URL support : http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Mumble_URL Mumble's userbase statistic : http://www.sjuengling.de/mus/ * note this is only from users who 'allow' statistic tracking- 132 replies
