  1. G'day ladies and gents Today I bring to you the WIP thread of the F/A-35E Thunder, which is a new and improved export version of the FC37 which is based on the F35C. I decided to start this restoration project as I've always loved the FC37 and F35 airframe in general and was always a little disappointed this aircraft never got updated and that people were missing out on its potential for Milsim or whatnot. I also thought I'd do this as the FC37 was an open source project and I have no idea on how to make models etc, only config stuff to a degree, so it wasn't a massive task for the mediocre modder I am :P Feel free to suggest ideas or additions I could possibly add to the aircraft, also if you have any FC37 skins laying around be sure to share them around as I could either add them to the mod itself or endorse an F/A-35E skin pack. Please try refrain from asking when this will be released, I'll most likely release it when everything has been added as I don't want to release a half assed mod that I'll have to update every 5mins, rather do it in one big shot, and adding all this shouldn't take long with the help I have. Patience is key.   3. G'day everyone Announcing a new project I'm slowly working on. I'm still fairly new to modelling so this may take a while, though the good thing is that I'm an avid World Of Tanks player and they have most of the tanks I want to make, thus its a great source of reference material for me to look at as they would have gotten their hands on their own reference material I most likely can't, not to mention I get to see their models first hand in game when I play which gives me ideas of what I can add or do etc. Still cant make cables/wire for shit though haha What its about? Project 1947 is mod that is based mainly on armoured combat, tank/armoured versus tank/armoured combat if you'd like, steel beasts going head to head. This mod will most likely not include any uniforms or hand held weapons as I currently don't posses the skill or excitement to make uniforms and hand held guns, not to mention that other mods like IFA3 and FoW fill that gap of infantry equipment. Overall, Project 1947 (working title) is about the possibility of if World War 2 was prolonged and did not end in 1945 and Germany successfully took Stalingrad or D-Day was not as big of a success as it was, for example. A bit like Wolfenstein, but without all the Nazi robots and spaceships, a more 'realistic' approach if you want to call it that. What would it include? Here is a list of factions I'd like to include into the mod. Most of the factions in their spaced groups would use similar vehicle, thus re-skins only really apply to some factions. However some factions will get their own unique kit at some point. Factions/Nations---- Nazi Germany Japan Italy (I have no clue what they'd use at this point of the war) Finland Soviet Union Communist China United States United Kingdom France Poland Nationalist China Australia I'll first be doing front line armoured vehicles such as heavy tanks, mediums and possibly lights. Depending on the reception I get I can always make APC and IFVs. Vehicles---- (Only a small list) [USA] M26E1 Pershing, M34, M30 and Easy 8 Sherman.. (To name a few) [German] E10, E25, E50, E75, E100.. (To name a few) [Soviet] IS3, T44A, T44B.. (To name a few) I'm also hoping to have a dynamic stowage system, so ultimately you're able to mix and match all kinds of stowage, even randomise it so no tank looks identical. What has been done so far? So far I'm doing all the German vehicles first, the E-series. The good thing about the E-series is that they share most if not all of their assets, from road wheels, exhausts systems, stowage, handles. For example, the E50 and E75 share the exact same hull, just different turret and number of road wheels. Since I've made the E50 hull and road wheels I've also technically made the E75 hull and road wheels. However this is what I've done so far. Germany E-50 E-75 Feedback/Suggestions Pretty sizeable project for someone like me, but I love making stuff so I don't mind. If you have any suggestions or feedback, go ahead. Cheers.

    I'd suggest chucking them into the recon part of your current Russian faction. I personally don't see the point in having a whole new faction just for Spetsnaz since they're just Russian SF. 1) Saves you from making another faction just for a small amount of units 2) Allows mission makers to use the one Russian faction which would include SF dudes, rather than have 2 factions. Also, an off topic suggestion. Q) Would it be possible to reskin all the vanilla NATO faction vehicles to the same tan colour as the Tanks DLC Rhino vehicle is? The inconsistency of the tan and the NATO grey doesnt look right and I reckon it would enhance your mod further. The reskinning of the CSAT to look Russian is awesome, so a texture touch up for NATO vehicles would make it stand out further.
  7. I know this is a 'cinematic' camera mod, however what are the chances of maybe having a version where we can still see all the HUD, crosshair, UI? etc etc. I love this mod but dont really have any cinematic use for it if that makes sense.

    Pretty much. Though tbh, there aren't that many mag varieties in Arma anyway, all the 5.56 stanags are the same, all the 6.5 mags (bar the 100 round version) all look the same, the Katiba mags only go into that weapon..

  11. Yea nah I'm still here. Been doing heaps of 3d modelling but also some IRL stuff. I kinda stopped for a while as I got sick of a lot of shit not working on the aircraft and not being able to find a way on how to fix it. Rest assured it is still slowly being worked on, tbh I'm not too sure how much is left before a release... I need to look at the to-do list.

    G'day Duda Brilliant mod! Absolutely love it! Though I have a query. When I link the commander module to another playerable player, said player is unable to issue any form of commands to any units. The units come up on the map, they can click on them and scroll through the options, but when clicked on, the order is not issued so nothing happens. I've had a look around and no idea why this would happen. Cheers
  13. Looks good however I doubt the flames would come out of the turret ring. I've heard most modern tanks have very strong rings to prevent stuff like this, plus from your video it looks as if the turret is just sitting on the hull and not connected (how else would the flames get out in such copious amounts) I'd suggest the usual roof hatches burn and barrel burn would be more acceptable than turret ring burn. Either way looks good though, I fuckin hate messing with particles.

    I've experienced that same issue, however it only has ever happened on the Mk18s and the Mk11 as old mate stated.

    Yes! This is great! As much as I love the AAF their camo doesnt really suit any other terrain apart from Altis or Stratis, thus they always look out of place! This would make the AAF a viable faction to play outside of the Greek Islands.

    But like I said at the bottom, all the other additions from the changelog have taken place and are visible. Why would I need RC to see half of the Dev Branch changes when I can see the other half without RC? Makes no sense to how the update works.

    @DnA @oukej I didnt know who to tag. Some feedback on the Dev Branch Change log, I've updated to the very latest and even double checked.. However a few issues I came across. Fixed: The Bobcat RCWS now correctly sports a 12.7mm HMG -The Bobcat still has the 6.5mm Fixed: HMG / GMG RCWS turrets now consistently use 200 / 96 ammo boxes -HMG Turrets still use 500 round boxes, while GMG is at the usual 96 Tweaked: Large vehicle magazines were split into smaller ones and their amount was adjusted -Still the same as before (pre update values) Tweaked: The magazine count on MRAPs and APCs has been doubled -Still the same as before (pre update values) Tweaked: The Marshall, Gorgon, Kamysh and Slammer coaxial guns have had their caliber changed to 7.62mm -They are all still using 6.5mm Tweaked: Slammer UP has its 120mm cannon back -Slammer UP has the 105mm, while the normal Slammer got the 120mm Tweaked: The shell count on tanks has been adjusted -Still exactly the same as before (pre update values) And that's all I found was inconsistent. I'm a tad confused though as some of the Dev Branch changes did come through, yet the above didn't.
  20. Just recently got half way through the MGS Showcase. Must say most fun I've had so far! The Radio comms, the immersion, the mission as a whole, the combined arms, just the overall feel. I felt very immersed the entire time I played. Wish more missions were like this!

    Should give the Grad to the weaker militia style factions, while the advanced MLS to the proper militarise. That way you can keep both but also slightly expands the arsenal of smaller factions. Also I'm fuckin keen for your retextures of the DLC vehicles! Keen to get a hold of a NATO Nyx!
  24. I can attest to this. Locking with the AT Nyx is very inconsistent, sometimes I can lock a stationary vehicle that is just out of sight, yet can't lock a big ass truck driving down an open road. Love the vehicle when it works, however very very inconsistent locking

    Love the vehicle ideas, would add much needed to vanilla! For the price of not too much work in comparison. Too bad people cant edit the A3 models otherwise I'm sure it would get done in no time by the community.
