Yeah, but in ArmA 2 they would generally run into the nearest building, I hope they do it in this one. Will be cool also since all the buildings are open.

I know they already have conversations with the ALICE Module, but I want them to have Life like conversations, not just standing, facing each other like statues. I want them to look like they are talking to each other..

Yeah, But, I have faith in BIS, but if they fail to produce one up to these grand expectations, there is always the modding community.

You guys forget that Takistan is mainly Desert (yea, with trees and stuff), so it tends to be a rather hot place. I think most surfaces will be shining brighter than surfaces, so FLIR in daylight should be nonsense.

But maybe it is possible, hence the leaked Apache videos, where the gunner shoots some journalists.

Late response as i'm catching up on this thread. If you are talking about the Router's reporters incident, the chopper was not using FLIR in that video.

I am rather disappointed by the Answers from BI about OA. I admire their honesty, despite that probably 75% or more are "no" answers....

For me OA stays at what i was expecting "at very least" since the beginning - only a expansion pack to the original game, focused on additions of units and maps and some engine updates here and there where appropriate/fitting the story - Much like the famous expansion-pack "Resistance" was for OFP at that time.

Also a obvious goodie for cash-flow however is that it runs stand-alone....

No AI and most other crucial gameplay-related upgrades/improvements makes it very sad however, especially since it seems that it could have been the last Arma for a very long period of time......

Holy crap like 50 pages in one day.

Anyways i did not mean to be attacked, but it is true that i can destroy a T90 with a M240, and i was wondering if something as DUMB as that wouldnt happen in OA.

I am likewise very disappointed to hear that OA won't have AI using buildings (inside). At the same time, without changing the feel of how ARMA plays I'm not sure it really matters.......

Just because ARMA doesn't have the right "feel" (for lack of a better term) for CQC.....I don't know excatly what it is....but it certainly doesn't playout like RVS (in CQC) which is fine, in that RVS is likely the best CQC "realistic feel" FPS put out.......But ARAM also seems to lack even the CQC gameplay of OGR even...... I don't know if it is the interface or fluid-ness or exactly what....but ARAM just doesn't feel right when up close in a fight.... The speed or something is lacking.....

But damn...if ARAM could figure that out.....This game/sim would be amazing..

It is possible in editor, however extreme unlikely to ever occur in an actual game. The crew of the t90, be it AI or human, would destroy you several times over before the m240 would ever succeed to amount enough damage in the hit point system to ever actually destroy the tank. When ACE rolls around it'll be almost impossible with their system.

So in other words, you'd be more likely to be struck by lightning on a trampoline while wearing a blue shirt and red pants, while taking a piss during a tuesday morning.

dunno about screens but I do believe there was a video a month or two ago BIS released showing off the Armory in OA, and unless my mind is hazy, I think he showed off the gustav.

Hehe - only one M14 with aimpoint :D /maybe more variants in full ver dunno/

That M4A3 is Bushmaster M4A3 and why is it in OA? - The Bushmaster M4A3 is used by special forces units of the Czech Armed Forces. These rifles are usually seen with an M203 grenade launcher. :cool:

Yeah I hope the M14 has more variants than just an Aimpoint. That'd be sad to add such a neat gun then turn around and gimp it :eh:

I like what I see... but... anybody want to mail me a super-computer, because it looks like I am going to need it. :(

Although I should just really give up trying to run the game at 1920x1200.

So does FLIR not work in the day in OA or what was that whole argument about?

If you playing ArmA2 with res 1920x1200 , OA will go smoother

FLIR works in daylight or night - works every time

Why? In MP you can easy remove FLIR hand weapons and only FLIR will be on vehicles

Whats wrong whit ya all, first you wanna modern stuff and when you get it now you say it will fuck up game... As said before war never balanced and as arma trying to simulate it, it shouldn't be too.

Other thing, FLIR will be mostly used on vehicles (tanks, choppers, UAV) and some snipers, maybe SCAR too and AK-47 but there are tons of weapons w/o it and well it's mission maker decision how he will balance it, he can leave all FLIR sighted weapons completely out.

I would like to see day1 how all storming in MP to get FLIR stuff haha... I imagine apache gunner is also very popular place to go hhehe fun fun fun :)

I love that people still seem to think Arma is like any other game without much option :)

:icon_ohmygod: That's just laughable, people have been whining for months "OMG there's no FLIR in this game, i'll jump out of the window or stop breathing if they don't include it in the next release", and now there are complains about FLIR being included.

I'm so glad not being a game dev.

As the old saying goes, you can't please everyone. No matter what BIS does, there will always someone whining about it. Best to just try and ignore them. ;)
