ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead discussion thread

Also, I don't see why BIS won't release the MLOD's. It just makes it easier for you talented mod makers to provide the community with awesome addons.

i got two words for you: Downloadable Content.

if you want to push your own DLC, the first step is always to limit the editing options of your community; for references see Infinity Ward/MW2, Rebellion/AvP and DICE/BFBC2.

Or it might be simply because every prick out there could just convert them to .3ds and sell them online.

Thing is though, we don't need all the MLODs just enough for reference of each unit (heli, fixed-wing, cars, infantry, weapons etc). This fixation (not aimed at you Enad) some people have with wanting ALL the MLODs is strange, most addon makers will happily make stuff from scratch rather than copy and paste bits to make a new addon, yes it has its place but demanding all the MLODs is unreasonable I think.

I would love it if they released a single mlod of each class. That would make things like deflatable tires so much easier.

It's been that way since Arma1 so that is not likely, more chance that they want to avoid this again. http://www.armedassault.info/index.php?game=0&cat=news&id=491

Although I don't understand why they would want to make things more clear..if someone is going to do something without permission they are likely to do it anyway. Also there are things like this, http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/534027 look familiar?

Yeah but like Darkhorse said...1 for each class would really help people out.

Yes, the british WILL be in Arrowhead on release, the fact that they have been mentioned multiple AAN reports should assure you of that.

I still don't know. That is the main reseaon I dislike ANN. They try too hard at turning user made content into the ArmA world. So now you don't know what is officialy BIS content and which isn't.

I see they're still using that map where Takistan is on Chernarus' Western border. Really? Bohemia with Ukrainian villages is in Central Asia?

Uh, wasn't it officially stated that british forces are NOT going to be in Arrowhead?

Maybe its one of those maps from the southern hemisphere where north is down and south is up.

Well, the area that you play in is only a small bit of chernarus, down over by novigrad would probably be a bit more sandy.

When you start to care about something like that, it might be time to step back abit :p

Chernarus may be geographically modelled after part of Bohemia, but politically it was meant to resemble Georgia on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus. And for that to make sense you have to imagine a reversed mirror image of the Chernarus map, so that the Green Sea represents the Black Sea.

Takistan is meant to geographically resemble Afghanistan but apparently with a Saddam Hussein-style dictatorship in place. Of course, neither Afghanistan or Iraq are really close to the Caucasus--so at that point BI's alternate world map starts to become even further removed from real world geography.

Chernarus, like Georgia, is a Western country with Christian religious influences. Just to Georgia's eastern border is Azerbaijan, an Eastern country with Islamic religious influences. Similar to how Takistan borders Chernarus in the ArmAverse. Chernarus borders Russia, and so does Georgia. Now, this would mean that on BIS' map, north would be down, south would be up, east would be left, and west would be right.

Perhaps this "ArmAverse" is something similar to the world of the older Ace Combat video games?

It was officially stated on youtube by the official BI account that british forces would not be included.
