Im trying to create a new .fx file to suit ArmA2 better. The one in my toolbox needed alot of extra work.

Silhouette is important... for things like the binoculars, you aren't going to have a thousand of them in the first LOD in any imaginable scene, so I think that Pcount is the way to go.

I lately worked on the Stargate Units and here's a try with the snow models and changed textures.

a small update from the Swedish Forces Pack.. we will soon release one of our vehicles featuring effects like animated windshield wipers (that turns on when you drive in rain).

but we are also bringing some russians into the mod.. our primary focus is to make swedish gear but also make some 1981 style stuff, basicly retextures of the stuff in arma2 but also some extra material for the russians to be used in missions and so on.

we see what happens but this might also become what we need for the "soviet-afghan" mod we planned before but that never came into existence.

So while some think the swedes love to play against the russians and shoot at them, the SFP mod team actually loves to play as russians.. beautiful stuff they got..

at the moment im working on one of my favorite science fiction monsters the bad ass hell knight from doom3.

i still have some problems with the arms and hands but for now it works fine ingame...hope someone will add him to an zombie addon or something else later, if not he will be in my next SW mod release also

It is deployed straight ahead of the vehicle, similar to a lance, and it is designed to detonate IEDs before the vehicle enters the kill radius. I think it does this through radio frequency or something. It's called the Rhino IED detection system IIRC.

Whats the purpose of the black flag shaped thing in the front?

As far as I know, it's a RHINO IED Pre-detonation Device.

edit: ah damn, Darkhorse was first, and more descriptive than me :p
