    Hey Sabre, I really loved these mods back in the day! In my opinion the USMC in particular are still some of the best re-textures of Marpat on the 2035 NATO units. No other mod comes close in my opinion, I have fond memories at looking at both these mods on Youtube during the A3 alpha/beta ( I didn't have the game at the time) and being so amazed. And finally being able to get my hands on the mod around the games launch, I mean you can see my passion in my earlier comment from 2014 if you scroll up a few comments (granted I was 15 myself at the time so it comes across a little needy)😄 Obviously since then you have moved onto other projects and have no interest in updating this which is fair enough but recently, I have been making a mod myself which is super basic in the grand scheme of things. (it was just a simple config re-write of changing the gear on NATO units to what I prefer as well as adding some new re-textured helmets but worked rather well and I gained a lot of experience about doing it.) And so, like the person above me I was wondering if I'd be able to update the US army and USMC units and release it to the workshop of course giving you full credit for the textures etc and just bringing it to todays standards, correct Arma values, available in Zeus etc. Now while writing this comment, I did view the steam workshop to see if anyone had already done this and see if I was just being stupid; and I did find this mod which had just been made the other month which I am super happy about but there are a lot of issues with it such as error messages and no armour values on vests, non zeus compatibility etc. I am no way saying I can do a complete better job, there may be several issues I run into that slow me down but I'd definitely like to give it a go. But instead of having two duplicate mods, I could work on the US army stuff as I hadn't seen a new mod for that and if I get it to work well I could maybe work with the other person to get the config working for the USMC perhaps. Or I could work on a totally separate one altogether with both factions which is what I originally hoped for but as long as you give me permission of course.     NATO UNIT OVERHAUL

    What is this mod? This mod Improves the way the default NATO soldiers look in the game by replacing them with gear already existing in the game, as well as some slighlty retextured helmets. I aimed for them to look like how they were in the alpha, beta and release candidate of the game. I mainly did this by making the Enhanced combat helmet the norm compared to the combat helmet as I personally think they look alot better and suit the 2035 setting alot more. I also restricted the use of the Carrier special rig and GL Rig to certain roles as I think they were over used and I personally dont like them as I think they're "too chubby". I also retextured the ECH and LCH slightly by adding a US flag so they look like they did in the Pre-alpha version of Arma 3. Why download this mod? Small file size - 17.7 mb! Better looking units that work on any mission. New retextured helmets to incorporate US flag while not compromising the normal ones so you can still use them for other missions. This is my first mod I've ever made, so while its only small and simple, any feedback would be greatly appreciated!     Hotfix 1.21: -Fixed the name of the mod ingame to be "NATO UNIT OVERHAUL" instead of "NATO REPLACEMENT PRIVATE BUILD" -Added correct description of the mod when its viewed in the menu.

    Update 1.2 It's a decently big one too: -Added 6 'new' ECH's. Each standard normal variant of the ECH will now be accessible with a US flag on the side. The flag will either appear in tan, olive or khaki depending on the variant of the helmet (E.g. Sand helmet will have tan coloured flag, snakeskin will have olive and tropic will have khaki etc.) -Added 6 'new' LCH's. Each standard normal variant of the LCH will now also be accessible with a US flag on the side. The same flag appearances from the ECH apply to the LCH as well. -Now altogether there are 8 variants each of ECH and LCH and one new regular combat helmet, including the completely custom one implemented last update from the Arma 3 pre-alpha. -Pacific Units are now done. However custom units such as Rifleman(Holo) and Soldier(Injured) are not implemented, haven't tested if this even works on tropic forces but all the base pacific units have been overhauled to wear more appropriate gear. -Gear has been shifted around on multiple units to showcase the different helmets but the majority will still wear thee standard "ECH (US)" -A lot more units have been altered, previously only majority of them had but now units such as 'assistant autorifleman' and 'GMG gunner' for example have also now been altered and will wear helmets with flags on them. Now pretty much every unit who previously wore a normal helmet of some kind will have a helmet with a flag on it so the soldiers are more consistent with one another. -The mod logo's have now been implemented therefore it'll be easier to see what is custom on the editor menu's and in the arsenal, it is represented by the NATO star with a slight blue tinge. -The mods picture and information is also accessible from the main menu. -The mod has now also been properly signed for multiplayer 🙂 That's pretty much concludes it. I'll be working on the woodland units as soon as I can, currently its not editable, and I'm not sure when they will become available but hopefully soon, thanks for playing my mod!     Update 1.1: Cool screenshot of new Helmet :) And another awesome screenshot :) Sorry this took so long, Uni work to get through and then I just moved it to the back of my mind while I worked on other things. -Added 3 completely new Tan textured helmets from the pre-alpha of the game. (2 with US flag patch) (Thanks Night515) -Several gear items have been swapped around on different units, some which showcase the new helmets! (SL, Ammo bearer etc) -Fixed the Autorifleman to now have a bipod (Thanks JV) -"Rifleman(SMG)" is now known as "Breacher" (Thanks sgtfuzzle17) -Started to work on the pacific units, managed to get the config working but I have only done the rifleman as of yet. Not sure when I will complete this. -Other minor changes which I can't really remember 🙂

    I was wondering do you have a record of all of the older releases of the mod available to download? I kinda wanna play an older version of Aegis because I preferred some of the older default NATO gear 😄

  8. https://gyazo.com/27e4f556f11939bc7afbabde05b9e5e1 I'm fairly new to modding and I'm trying to create a replacement pack for the current NATO which changes their equipment to gear already existing in the game. I'm trying to make them look more like they were in the Alpha/Beta and first release of the game. But some of my mod config isn't working and I'm not sure why? My rifleman class works fine but when trying to create the grenadier class, I'm having some issues, the uniform, vest and helmet I want (which is identical to the rifleman just for testing purposes) isn't appearing and instead is just left with the vanilla gear, but I know some of the config is working somewhat because it has the addon image next to it in the editor and the backpack I placed on him works. Any help towards tidying my config up (as most of it is a copy and paste of sample configs which I've edited) and making it work would be massively appreciated.

    Love how you have made NATO not look like shit as they do in vanilla and used ECH alot more, and made it so they dont wear those disgusting chubby vests! why get rid of the tropic camo for woodland tho?

    I really hope this mod isn't dead. but PLEASE PLEASE Sabre can you add these units to Zeus I would be more then appreciative And these units are my favourite infantry mods and probably my favourite two mods in all of ArmA 3 I hope you continue to make awesome mods because it seems like you have been dead recently but if you are reading this keep up your amazing work you have a gifted talent :D thanks, Tom :D

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

    Hey, can someone please make Sabre's awesome units (USMC and US ARMY) work in Zeus these are by far my favourite units in all of the ArmA mods their is out there! So I would be more then appreciative if someone could put these units into Zeus, I'm asking you this because it seems like Sabre's mods are dead at the moment, so sabre if you are reading this please continue to work on your mods they are by far the best infantry mods (in my opinion) and if you could put them into Zeus that would be even better. Yes I do but it doesn't make sense I played survive when the old units were in their instead of the new ones so they didn't look like they do now :( and in win NATO command brings in more troops so shouldn't they be different from the ones on stratis? ---------- Post added at 16:31 ---------- Previous post was at 16:30 ---------- OK but on win NATO sends more troops in that still look terrible!
  19. Hey, even though the thing I'm talking about today happened quite a while ago it still annoys me very much! Around when adapt came out the NATO forces helmets and carrier rigs changed the ECH (NATO default helmet) changed to what's now known as the SF helmet and the carrier rig got changed so by default the standard NATO rifleman got changed from some awesome looking dude to some ugly looking unit Please, please,please Bohemia change this back and I find it very unrealistic with everyone wandering around with different helmets they have the ECH, ECH Light and SF helmet then lots of camos for each one I wish the helmets and carrier rigs went back to how they were in the beta or alpha were there were awesome looking ECH's and greater Carrier Rigs!   22. I'm just saying I prefer the old versions of the units the ones like from alpha up to like episode 2 adapt with the SF helmets as the normal ECH
