PacX 10 Posted June 20, 2010 What price range will this game be in Belgium? There's a thread for that.
Azamato 0 Posted June 20, 2010 There's a thread for that. Wouldn't it just be easy to say the price in stead of that whole sentence?
dukeuk76 10 Posted June 20, 2010 From those new videos (ignoring the very poor upload conversion and FPS lag/interlacing and tearing) ...Positive: 1) Clock system (thank god for that!) 2) I noticed when rolling prone it actually triggered earth scrape sounds (thank god for that!) 3) Looks lovely and the buildings really have depth to them visually. 4) Not in the last bit surprised about anims and heli drops, always thought that would be as normal. 5) Radio speech is robotic as always, and yet less pronounced in its phrases and the AI response radio calls were nice too, oh and clock system. just to mention that again :) 6) Not this video related but dynamic town creation, and all the other spoken about addition I welcome all. Negative: 1) Some voice acting is a funny as usual "RIGHT, DOONT WWOORY IS' GONNA BE A PIECE O' CCCAAAKKKE!" .. (slomo rambo style) :) 2) Playing this type of campaign mission never interests me unless im commander really so i will use the campaign to check the visuals but not much else. 3) Hand signals still have that "Incredible Hulk Arm" effect. 4) No surprise but I cant wait to install a sound mod, clunkety clunk :) One things for sure I still cant wait to get this and install, have all the toys, mod it to death and rape the editor and skip the entire campaign as I have done on every other Arma so far :) You may think this is all negative to a point but I know what it offers, and what I want from it, so all is good and pre-order from game is commencing. BTW with all its engine updates and clock system etc, Im guessing we will be able to pull into it A2 content to get advantage? I say this as I would right off the bat port over everything just so I had the clock system and radio voice updates. Top post, mate!

tsb247 0 Posted June 20, 2010 While I agree it would be a nice feature, I highly doubt that's going to happen. integrating both maps into one would create a hugely performance intensive map, and loading screens would be stupid. Yeah, I thought that performance would be an issue in that respect. That's why I didn't get my hopes up. It would be awesome though, and maybe some clever modder will make it happen someday. SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted June 20, 2010 Do you mean the squad leader? pretty sure he ran through a gap... Nope, look prior to that time, there is no gap at the point he side straddles it, the question is, is it AI?
thr0tt 12 Posted June 20, 2010 Listenning to the new videos and watching of course the speech I assume uses the same phrases from ArmA/II ? Why, when calling for a medic you would sound bored ? There appears to be no urgency apart from a few certain phrases which just stick out. Would have been good for some doubled up recordings for in action and stand down type scenarios, I mean, if I was injured in the field of combat I would be shouting a little more urgently for a medic or backup etc. I guess we are not in it for the speech though so it will pass. Shame...it...never...changes...and....the...whole...audio....speech...thing...never...improves...
myshaak 0 Posted June 20, 2010 Nope, look prior to that time, there is no gap at the point he side straddles it, the question is, is it AI? I did look and I saw that the wall is not very long - when the leader gets up he needs cca 5-6 meters to get around that wall (3:49).
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted June 20, 2010 Cancel,,in full screen he apparently is just bumped by the player, and follows behind him.
PacX 10 Posted June 20, 2010 Nope, look prior to that time, there is no gap at the point he side straddles it, the question is, is it AI? Look at 3:50, he runs around the end of the fence... :j:
cossack8559 10 Posted June 20, 2010 Yeah he does run around the wall... by the bush there is an opening... also even if there was a wall there i am pretty sure he would just walk through it :)
NeMeSiS 11 Posted June 21, 2010 Whats the point of discussing this? Im pretty sure its the same as in ArmA2; they will run through low fences in aware mode instead of climbing over and wont cross them at all in combat mode, unless its a part of a fence where the player can crawl under, but instead of crawling they will walk through it instead. Fox '09 14 Posted June 21, 2010 I'm sure if you were as cool as the USMC in ArmA 2 you could walk through fences too
^Th0mas^ 10 Posted June 21, 2010 Dumb question, but does OA have improved AI over vanilla ArmA II ?
maddogx 13 Posted June 21, 2010 Dumb question, but does OA have improved AI over vanilla ArmA II ? According to the devs, the AI in OA is the same as in the latest Arma2 betas. (See FAQ) This really just means that they aren't making the AI any different for OA, which makes sense when you think about it. They will most likely keep improving the AI, just like they have been doing recently, so both A2 and OA will benefit from that. :)
^Th0mas^ 10 Posted June 21, 2010 Does that mean that OA will be released as 1.06? And they will release 1.06 for vanilla ArmA II right after or before? :j:
maddogx 13 Posted June 21, 2010 Does that mean that OA will be released as 1.06? And they will release 1.06 for vanilla ArmA II right after or before? :j: No one knows for sure, but it certainly looks like it. I'm assuming that there will be a patch right after release of OA that works for both versions, updating the game to the state of the latest beta. (With those nice threading and RAM enhancements. :))
SnR 1 Posted June 21, 2010 Armed Assault was at its best at the end of its life, Arma II has found a similar fate near its end. Lets hope the last 3 years will pay off in Arrowhead
maddogx 13 Posted June 21, 2010 Armed Assault was at its best at the end of its life, Arma II has found a similar fate near its end. Lets hope the last 3 years will pay off in Arrowhead  I would hardly say Arma2 is "near its end", just because an expansion is being released. ArmA 1 was still supported with patches over two years after QG came out.
eik 0 Posted June 21, 2010 (edited) Dumb question, but does OA have improved AI over vanilla ArmA II ? According to the A2 OA review by the french magazine Canard PC N°215, note 8/10, the AI has again some weird bugs. Edited June 21, 2010 by Eik
