    • The weapon sounds!
    • The vehicle sounds!
    • Environmental sounds!
    • Explosions, Soniccracks, Bullethits, the sound of danger!
    • The script features like the "distance sounds"!
    • Everything combined! The whole Mod itself is important.

I am running latest the beta version. and this is my shortcut:

"C:\Program Files\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe" -cpuCount=8 -nosplash -mod=@rMod;@CBA_CO;@JSRS

I have manually overwritten the exe file with the one from BETA folder

EDIT: Nevermind, it's a CBA issue and not related to JSRS.

I think that you're not running the latest beta because your shortcut should read:

C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@rMod;@CBA_CO;@JSRS

Hi LJ, just wanna ask you a question. Did you intentionally remove the footstep sounds whenever you are carrying a wounded soldier(first aid modules)? All I can hear is the soldier panting heavily and no sound of the footsteps. I was thinking that you decided to remove them since it's unnecessary? Or am I wrong? Just a question though. :)

Yea i have/had this same problem now and with 1.4.3..

Those are ACE sounds ... when your carrying draging or doing things via ACE interaction your using the ACE_SM.

since you are required to remove it to use jsrs .. you no longer get those sounds because they are not a part of jsrs.

you need the following out of ace_sm:

ace_sm_c_sound_men

ace_sm_c_sound_world

ace_sm_main

ace_sm_s_men

ace_sm_s_world

Couldn't hear the RPG-OG7 round fire sound when a friend in coop fired it from right next to me.

Oh, I am not using ACE_SM btw. What I mean about the First Aid Modules, are the BIS ones. I tried it with and without ACE Mod and I get the same result. Just heavy panting and no sound of footsteps when carrying. Oh well, not much of a big deal for me.

I want to use this mod SO bad, I click the Link to download and nothing happens. My Page just loads forever no download, I tried new browsers, Restarting, Everything. There arent anymore Mirror's so I cant download it... HELP!

Allright. I'm new here so I'll keep it brief.

To start off Jarhead. Fantastic mod buddy.

I use it for both dayz, wasteland, and normal Aram2: OA/CO.

The sound's effects and such are amazing, and I'm really enjoying it. It seriously puts you on edge whenever someone fires at you. But I do have some suggestions for a couple of things.

And I'll put them into a list, as I'm sure there's others who's found out the same.

1. Motorbike sounds: The motorbike sounds would have been really good, but there's something off with them.

-When you start it up, it sound's really good. But when you start dying the engine sound really drops down, and when you accelerate with the motorbike it sound's like it's two or three diffrent layers of sound on it, one "normal"-sound, one lower grequency sound and one middle frequency sound. Making it sound like some electrie/diesel hybrid thing.

-You might want to take a drive on a dirtbike and check it out, to see if you understand what I mean about it.

*It doesn't bother me much, as I don't use the bike often but it's stil some feedback.

2. Explosions - The sound is very weak for an explosion in my opinion. It's hard to put a finger on it, but it need's more beef and bacon to put it like that. As it is now, the sound from the original explosions are actually better, regardless of how close or far away you are. And I've tried all the explosions, all aircraft, vehicle, nades and launchers. Most even sound the same.

-A fix here would be to beef up the bass note of the sound, and maybe even use the original if you had to, unless you found a better option.

3. A lot of the carbines. M4 and such, sound's the exact same.

*But there is a BUT here. I love the carbine sounds to bits, they are really good. But the ones that need's more beef are the MK models. Mk16/17 etc. They don't sound as frightening, and I personally like the original sounds from these better. It's really off putting to hear someone fire shots at you with the original ones. But now they sound like an M4, and seem less terrifying, regardless of the fact that they still kill like an overdose of heroine on a wet saturday night.

-A fix here would be to beef up the MK sounds a notch, not to much, but to make them distinct

4. The SUV sounds - Do I hear a harley davidson engine when you use the turbo on it? Sound's like a Fatboy when you rev the engine with that turbo. Maybe you could find the sound from another V8 for it?

Some examples: Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe, maybe even the Ford Raptor 150(If you used the Raptor sound I would love you more than my daily nicotine intake(which says a lot btw))

Other than that, I'll keep coming back with feedback, and don't take any as criticism, as I love the mod itself.

anybody still getting the constant bullet hit sounds when somebody is injured? makes me dive for cover when im healing somebody...lol

Are you sure you aren't running any other sound mods? That "layered" effect bugged me once, then I realized that I had forgotten to disable ACE_SM. The only point on which I agree at all is that the motorbike could stand to be quite a bit louder. Other than that, I don't hear what you are describing.

Explosions sound great and varied - perhaps you are missing the LF content that Hollywood would have us believe exists.

The carbines, particularly the M4 and Mk16 sound very different - the M4 has a mid-range "bark" while the Mk16 has a more percussive note.

The SUV sounds like one would expect - butter-smooth at normal revs with a bit of a growl when you put the pedal down.

Are you aware that if by any chance, LJ would comply to your requests for changes, that would affect all the people who actually loves the current LJ's decisions? The Mk17 sounds impressive, it actually made me use the weapon again, because the original sounds were, ironically considering your post, too weak.

Indeed - checking on this guy's assertions made me realize that I really like the JSRS Mk16 sounds, and may use it more often now.

Some one on Armaholic wrote a comment in the latest beta patch about the latest OA Beta Patch is crashing JSRS to desktop.

This needs to be verified.

Simple solution, its all beta so dont use it. If I vouched here for Jarhead I think this is all done with official release tests, anything else is to be avoided, and up to them to private test on future full official release patches later. Or better still just report the issue to BI if its a beta related issue than a soundmod issue.

Couldn't hear a javelin launch when a friend in coop fired it from right next to me. Considering I had the same problem with the RPG, maybe there's a general problem with hearing AT launcher when they are fired next to the player.

LordJarhead are you still looking for a solution for having smoke grenades having both a 'pop' noise as well as the looping hissing? As I might be able to help with a script for that

Nah, I can deal with that the simple way and edit the soundfiles itself. No problem. Lately I have ZERO time to do anything and I cant really work on that. Also I thinking of buying the A3 Supporters Edition to check out the mod abilities on the alpha, but thats something for another time...

It's ironic I was talking with a friend yesterday and we were wondering when JSRS would be available with Arma 3 loll

We all know that we will miss your sounds in vanilla Arma 3.

I rather ask anonymous to hack it and break it like forever than uploading my work there to let it ripped and re-uploaded by others again, Hehehe. Also JSRS wont be that big to be able to break it. And even then it would rather break some peoples patience while downloading the mod for like 2 weeks^^

As far as I can say I will keep it this way with download links or maybe I will have an own website by then to have a "home" of JSRS. I dont know yet. And I dont know IF I going to work on A3's sounds or port the mod or something like this.... depends of how much I like the game...

Does anyone else have problems hearing another players gun fire....

I can hear full auto fire.. but semi auto is a no go...??

The only way to describe it is as if the semi auto fire sounds dont exist.. i hear the impact of the bullet.. and the click when they hit the end of the magazine.. but i cannot hear the actual fire of the bullet... Only in Full Automatic...

This is only a problem in Multiplayer.. I just cannot hear other players gunshot when they use Semi-Auto... I cannot hear the Stinger being Launched ... only th WOOSH of the missle in the air... And a couple other weapons do the same thing...

Ill work on narrowing it down but I tested it with ONLY ACE running and I get the issue .. I dont play arma with out ace .. just not the same but ill try with out ace and see if i still have a problem .. but I know it exists.. please don't discount it because i cannot Proove it .. If i have to ill post up some video..
