rübe 127 Posted August 3, 2010 if DLC would cost 10€, I could pay 20€ just to get it on DVD. Well, if you send that 20€ cash and a nice holiday card to BIS, maybe some employee will be kind enough and burn you a dvd with the DLC and send it back to you. Maybe. :rolleyes2:

[GLT] Legislator 66 Posted August 3, 2010 @Damu: Is there any chance we will be able to buy the DLC from places like Amazon shortly after releases? I'm asking because I don't have a sprocket or a steam account.
Amuro 10 Posted August 4, 2010 Is the Steam version of BAF going to be compatible with the sprocket/retail version of OA?
Damu 10 Posted August 4, 2010 @Damu:Is there any chance we will be able to buy the DLC from places like Amazon shortly after releases? I'm asking because I don't have a sprocket or a steam account. It's a question to marketing department. I think the final selling websites are still in negotiation. Is the Steam version of BAF going to be compatible with the sprocket/retail version of OA? Technically it should be, but unfortunatelly I'm not Steam expert. It should be even possible to install non-Steam DLC to Steam OA. Please, consider these installation issues as unverified. We didn't test them yet. Right now we are focused on the testing game itself.
TechnoTerrorist303 10 Posted August 4, 2010 Technically it should be, but unfortunatelly I'm not Steam expert. According to the steam page it isn't. "Requires the base game ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead on Steam in order to play."

Damu 10 Posted August 4, 2010 Dont miss the this time, please. It's just annoying, just like the bushes that make your character jump... Sorry, no changes in engine and no patches for Takistan and Zargabad (maps, models) included in BAF. But there is OA patch prepared, which should be published before BAF. Hope never dies. Dwarden 1125 Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) According to the steam page it isn't."Requires the base game ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead on Steam in order to play." only for STEAM version ... that's how order / sales system on STEAM works ... so atm. the situation is that You need own ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead on STEAM before You can get the DLC this may change and if so we (i) will inform You about Edited August 4, 2010 by Dwarden
trooper117 10 Posted August 4, 2010 Hope something gets sorted and clarified for the masses that have bought the disc retail version.. otherwise its going to get very confusing..
dm 9 Posted August 4, 2010 Hope something gets sorted and clarified for the masses that have bought the disc retail version.. otherwise its going to get very confusing.. Not really? If you have the steam version, you buy the DLC from steam. If you have any other version, you buy the DLC from sproket (or any of the as-yet un-announced digital retailers) Whats so confusing about that?

galzohar 31 Posted August 4, 2010 This...I'm confused as to how this can be confusing... Because it's not a "click here get DLC" button. :)
trooper117 10 Posted August 4, 2010 So, Sprocket is now confirmed as 'the' version for retail disc version buyers.. Now I'm not so confused.. glad one of our experts has cleared that up.

Damu 10 Posted August 5, 2010 Any word if any official new patch will be released with this pack? Probably not in one pack. The patch is not bound to A2BAF addon, but to A2OA. Btw, new intel has been just released... http://www.arma2.com/latest-news/arma-2-homepage-updated-with-a-fresh-intel_en.html Would you like to learn more about the Takistan? http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-baf-takistan/index_en.html Would you like to meet an A2BAF soldier? http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-baf-characters/sgt-brian-frost_en.html

rübe 127 Posted August 5, 2010 Nice to see that info about Takistan is up now though :) Indeed, this is much appreciated. A strong background history for countries and factions in the armauniverse is always a great help, inspiration and immersion boost - escpecially for the uninspired mission designer. :D
