CameronMcDonald 146 Posted December 27, 2007 G'day Jonny, please check your PM regarding your work. Oh, and btw - I saw all the models have incorrectly defined mouths - there's one point in the middle where the lips are joined together. Can anyone else confirm this? Otherwise, wonderful addon. xr6turbo 0 Posted December 27, 2007 those units just look great!i have a problem when i put them in the editor where they drop there weapons and gear ? im running it along with xam1.4 ... anyone else having this problem ? i assume that its a problem of xam 1.4 since i never had any problems on standart arma 1.08 and 09 Disabled all mods yet there still dropping there weapons
jdhaines 0 Posted December 27, 2007 Great job Johnny. We (31stMEU) are actually talking about switching to your marpats. Mine were more to fill a void while there wasn't anything else out. I don't have the time to learn to model, nor to do "correct" textures as far as multiple maps and rvmat files and such. Mine were done with endless hours of tweaking and checking. There really isn't any need to constantly redo work that is already released and up to par. Once again, great work. We're going for realism, and I think yours may be the current best in a hopefully long line of increasingly realistic Marine addons. Semper Fi
Mille 0 Posted December 27, 2007 very beautiful the addon only 2 units are missing already the helicopter pilota and the armoured crewmen.

the_shadow 0 Posted December 27, 2007 yeah... but instead of SF there should be Force Recon... (that should be the closest thing to SF the marines have right?)

DaSquade 0 Posted December 28, 2007 Quote[/b] ]nametapes Somehow i originally found it sad BIS didn't added that to stock units. Jonny would you consider adding it? Jenny did this on her marines she made for VBS1 (afaik they were released for OFP aswell?). The principle was very easy and simple. Add a face (where ever name pathes are..be it sholder, helmet, front of armorvest) and map it with the top-left part of the face texture. That way anyone can use his custom face aslong he integrates a nametag in that region of the texture. If more info needed, check with Jenny or me. Downside, AI won't have it and will have a 'bad' unnamed nametag (part of the headhair texture). But this can be fixed by releasing a custom addon where you add virtual nametags to all stock faces. Just a suggestion.
dren 0 Posted December 30, 2007 And that would be lovely!
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted December 30, 2007 Sounds intriguing. Might consider it for my blokes as well. God knows having everyone called "Filmore" ain't so good. :P
Yeb 0 Posted December 30, 2007 I found out a conflict with Q1184's jamming weapons mod with your m4s. When M4 get jammed, they disappear, you first get this message, then your gun gets removed. Outstanding work and top-notch units anyway .
wipman 1 Posted December 30, 2007 Hi, i'll preffer to have the Force Recon units to fill the army special foces role than have the name tapes on the grunts; some Force Recon units with the cap and the allice suspenders armed with SD weapons and close/mid range weapons. And a Force Recon team equiped with the MTV and the CWR BDU's underneath like this: Force Recon in Liberia: And booth Force Recon and grunt fire teams with they're role clearly specifyed (assault, AT team, sniper team etc) i found it much more usefull and pimp than have a name tape in the unit's BDU that preys "C. Wipman" that you'll only could read at 3m of the unit when in game. Let's C ya
PTV-Jobo 820 Posted December 31, 2007 I'm actually quite fond of the name tape idea, personally. sounds interesting especially in a unit atmosphere. Of course it's up to the creator, as I'm not going to paste 10 pages of "I want's" though heaven only knows I could bring up ideas that he could do great with his talents. Overall, I'll just sit back and let him create what he wants to create.
kmossco 9 Posted December 31, 2007 I too like the name tape idea One more step for a perfect addon, which is already my favourite ever released.

ERC-Blackwater 0 Posted January 1, 2008 Yeah Johnny's officially "Thee" man. Brilliant work. I won't play any mission that doesn't include these Marines.
Jahve 0 Posted January 2, 2008 US Marines don't really wear much patches and insignia at all. Hell, they don't even wear a US Flag on their MCCUU's. Their not allowed to
PTV-Jobo 820 Posted January 2, 2008 Any reason why? Just curious and wouldn't mind learning something new, heh.
