exentenzed 2 Posted July 16, 2013 I found one thing about the new APC's that was a bit amusing, if you drive underwater the engine will as exepected eventually turn red. However, if you submerge the vehicle and then turn off the engine, you can stay there for an extended period of time. (oxygen is still a factor though.). and when you start moving again you should have enough time to make it back onto land, atleast i did everytime i tried. :) It's a nice touch that the engine is not destroyed when its actually off. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

They are based on real world vehicles. If they were "real" vehicles, they'd have their real names. And for example the Comanche wouldn't exist anymore (since it was canned) and the Red helo (forgot the name) wouldn't exist either because it doesn't exist at all and is not based on any real world vehicle. Belarusian, eh? Pretty neat Vehicle, and a nice choice. Now its stats just need to be tweaked. Do we have any Idea how large it is, compared to the Namer (That one seems to be modelled way too small at the moment, and I am beginning to find the dimensions of some other vehicles to be off too, unless I am hallucinating.)? Perhaps having AI using MG's swap to a suppress logic at a certain distance and keeping the rate of fire up would be nice. Then again firing an MG at armor at long range is a bit dumb to begin with. Yes, but even the red helo is a version of two separate heli's who had a baby. And even if it wasn't based on anything real it is still affected by the laws of physics and would contain believable and realistic weapons systems. They do not have the real names due to some licensing issues but are still true to the real vehicle they are based. BIS is not a big enough company to push around and win court battles against weapons and vehicle manufactures like dice does so they names are different it they are still the same vehicle. And even if it wasn't based on anything real it is still affected by the laws of physics and would contain believable and realistic weapons systems.They do not have the real names due to some licensing issues but are still true to the real vehicle they are based. BIS is not a big enough company to push around and win court battles against weapons and vehicle manufactures like dice does so they names are different it they are still the same vehicle. ravenholme 50 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) Well, the way I see it, the Namer (Sorry, Panther) has armament equivalent to the Marid, and also is actually an upgun of the real thing's armament (Which could carry the HMG or the GMG, not both at the same time) - this compensates for the Marshall having heavier armament than the Marid. The Marid's poor armament is compensated by the Kamysh having pretty heavy armament but relatively low survivability. So, in reality, the two forces are still symmetric in the name of "balancing", but not in an immediately obvious way. I can deal with this. I'd prefer more realistic asymmetry, but I'll survive. However, there is an issue, the Kamysh can't lock on with it's Titan AA box launcher (In fact, I suspect its misnamed, as it locks onto ground vehicles just fine), which makes it essentially useless, so that needs to be fixed (Though I've still gunned down helicopters with it's main cannon) However, I love them as additions, just as they are, but I would love to see more variants of the Namer/Panther, as a quick glance at the wiki shows it can be fitted with all kinds of weapon systems, including as a mortar carrier amongst others. Another thing, somewhere in the dev branches, the Titan MPRL ceased to be an MP rocket launcher, as only certain launchers accept the AA missiles, and others only the AT missiles, and I don't think I've found one that takes the AP missiles anymore.
