I have a problem with the latest dedi server RC build (from Arma3tools). On this dedi machine I see a red circle on Apex and cannot therefore host a Tanoa mission (interestingly Jets is green on the dedi expansions - so something is up). Any help Dwarden ? -

Normal approaches are 3 degrees. Not measured what we actually have in Arma3. You've obviously watched my deck landings for the controlled crash !

Does the new Release Candidate (for testing) contain the latest improvements to server/client Dwarden? Going to be testing the RC anyway. -

At work presently, but just thought, would it be possible to have the default markers just your side (rather than having to go through the params each time mission is run)? Not wanting to open up the mission then re-pbo it. Final request (but possibly too complicated) is for an 'AI commander' to select the Capture or Defend task around you? Or what about this ... in Side chat 'We are advancing on XXX, require support' or 'large enemy push expected at XXX, require support'. Will be testing this again tonight but using MAXIMUM amount of troops and see what happens - will let you know if PC melts :) This is seriously one of the best missions I have played (and repeatedly play) in Arma3. WAR STORY ALERT ... not sure if this if DEV behaviour but I've not seen it before ..... I've got my team of 2 soldiers with me in a SlammerUP defending a capture point. Every other point around me is controlled by IND faction and they are throwing EVERYTHING at me. My gunner is mowing down all the troops that approach. Suddenly I look behind me and an AI engineer is placing the antivehicle mine behind my tank!! Little git! But just how awesome is that ?- 303 replies

SUCCESS ! This latest version works on my dedi (also on DEV version !) Now just need a non-debug version as I can see every unit :) EDIT just had an idea to REALLY spice things up a bit ... what about EVERY time you die, you rotate the team that you are on. That way you can REALLY show what benefit there is to you being on a particular team. Would also help with people choosing just one side ... makes it even ! Going to crank up the POWA now and see how many AI I can get fighting for Tanoa! Well done mate for getting us through this !- 303 replies

Just did yet another retest. Definately something up with the dedi server. It runs perfectly on a local host, but throws up a pile of errors on dedi. I hope that helps mate. EDIT: Just saw your post ... testing Tanoa now.- 303 replies

Just fired up my dedi ... connected to Katalaki bay. I can choose a soldier and choose the spawn with no problems ... but the AI are not moving on other objectives :( I'm on DEV version btw ... will change to stable and retest. Any ideas ?- 303 replies

Now there WAS an issue with AI not respawning with the previous release candidate. Luckily that error has been sorted now - however I haven't tried TC since. I'm running the DEV version currently to check on the jets, but will try TC tonight (if I get time) Thanks for continuing to develop this as it is a great showcase for infantry combat (with a little vehicular thrown in) Let me know if you need beta testing - happy to help.- 303 replies

Can we get a little tweak on smoke abruptly disappearing when you turn to face it? I know it is to do with scene complexity but IF they smoke is already there please let it be !

On DEV currently testing AIS. Mission starts up fine. I run to first injured unit and try to treat wounds - it tells me to stabilise. So I stabilise the guy (possible to allow outside view for this ?) Only 'treat soldier' or 'drag' on action menu (no revive). When I try to treat it continually says 'You must revive first'. I've been able to load injured into the Panther then unload them at evac point. Can only revive IF I order the AI to do it :( Broken because of DEV version ? EDIT: One other thing. On DEV version the carry animation looked very ODD with the wounded not being lifted properly (appeared to be beyond my head) just prior to him going onto my back.- 914 replies

Indeed it is the problem but this tends to be caused by inappropriate server setup or a mission that is too overloaded with scripts (or running in the wrong environment).

I think every soldier in every army will be doing all those things (although I WOULD laugh so hard at seeing real soldiers spinning around that I couldn't hit them!) I don't know many soldiers that WANT to get hit.

Surely there is one VERY easy solution. Noone is allowed to re-upload a mission/mod to Steam except the original author. Should any unofficial mods be seen on Steam they are immediately reported and taken down. This would satisfy everyone wouldn't it?

Is it possible to have it appearing on every person always, even when there is no zeus ? I'd like to know who is having a less than optimal time on my server and most missions don't have a zeus. -
This indeed sounds like a problem with the server. The server sounds overloaded (too many AI, or too many scripts running). Ping is only a very small part of it. If you own the server you can drastically change things for the better. Arma isn't like most games .. it will biatch slap you all over the place! However once you get her purring there isn't much she cannot do :)
