I own a Rift + Touch and as much as I'd LOVE to have Arma3 in VR I don't think even my beast of a machine could handle it. One can dream however :)

The problem could be that if you were the pilot, it may BLAME you for the crash and demote you (give you a negative rating). This would mean that you can no longer lead the squad. This happens to me if I run over suicidal foot soldiers (however they do tend to shoot me once I get out of the car/tank etc) -

I run a standalone dedi server really for myself and my AI (although others are able to join) and it is on my local network. I've found that (running 192 AI at 35-40FPS in brutal battles, 64 bit BTW) that some vehicles don't travel as smoothly as they should ! They tend to stop/start as if there is something blocking their path. The FPS should be high enough for the server to handle that waypoint setting. I've also witnessed (as a driver) my tank jumping metres into the air as if it collided with something (even though it is nowhere close to a wall). My question is: how far can I crank up the nonguaranteed messages (the repeatable movement one) without dropping FPS? Or is my question 'how long is a piece of string'? -

Hey tvig. I've now got my standalone dedi working, and mission seems to be great. I did have a chap join the server, but it remained on the blackscreen for him (an init problem?) Will do more testing to see when others join if they get the same thing. On another issue, would it be possible to lower the tick counter down a fraction on the screen? It seems to interfere with the weapon information. I'm on a 16:9 monitor at 1920x1280. Playing with 192 AI is going really well, but it is BRUTAL (as war should be !) EDIT: One final thing. All AI are spawning in COMBAT mode which slows down their movement from one spot to another. Could they be put on aware instead ?- 303 replies

Has anyone tried the latest GitHub version on stratis? Everything was going very well (high FPS on client and server) and I logged out for something to eat. AI commander had been in control and obviously was still in control when I logged back in again. However I did notice quite a few AI team leaders clustered around a previously taken area, and not moving from there. I wonder was there a problem with new AI orders not getting through to them? Apart from that it is LETHAL. The AI use their upgrade money well and I have a large number of armed hunters dashing about. Interestingly however, I wasn't able to buy them from the light vehicle factory (only armed offroad). Will be doing much more testing on my standalone dedi, trying to optimise settings for best FPS for this AI heavy mission.

Well I'm running the latest version on the GitHub and getting 34-41 server FPS and 48-60 FPS on my client. Lots of action everywhere. No HC. Using the default AI setup, so LOT of AI commanders. No issues so far - pleased with the server FPS !

Not sure if anyone but BIS can help here, but I have another PC that I use as a dedi server. It does have a regular copy of basic Arma3 (no DLC) on it. On a seperate drive is the standalone dedi server program (from Steam). When I set the server to run a tanoa mission is fails (unable to read mission), however Altis or Stratis missions are fine! Any idea when this fails ? I thought a standalone dedi could run anything. -

Okies so I deleted the standalone server and arma3 on my dedi machine. I then reinstalled ONLY the standalone server and fired it up ... no problems at all running tanoa missions now. I assume that previously the SA server was getting confused with the basic Arma3 install. Anyhoo seems to be great now. 192 AI with 48 FPS :) -
Dear Devs, Posting here to get some visibility - otherwise it will get lost. Game modes (CTI and Warfare) that rely on AI respawning has been broken by 1.68. So this is a major problem - with no words from DEVs. Can we at least give the mission authors some chance at understand what has been borked in 1.68 please? I'm sure a LOT of people will chime in here. And please DON'T tell me to post it on the fecking tracker.

First post. Release candidate. Works PERFECTLY on my main machine (when I can dedi host it using Arma3server_64 from Tools, then play also on that machine as client). However my other machine (that only has basic Arma installed) also runs the Tools Arma3server_64 BUT cannot run Tanoa missions. Surely a STANDALONE dedi server can run everything ! -
Changing tcb_ais_impactEffects = true was perfect. I can engage the enemy know that I'll be at least able to see them IF I get hit. The new AIS has been completely rerwritten and works very very well. I recommend having a little look at how it is implemented.

Hmmm it is wierd as the mission runs perfectly on the arma3 dedi server (as part of normal Arma3 install). It is just on the standalone that there is a problem. I DID notice that when I look at the standalone dedi server, it does show a red circle on APEX, but all other DLC are fine. -

I think you can use the standalone dedi server exe that does NOT require any purchase. EDIT: Well I'm not having much luck with this mission so far. I keep getting Recruitment Failed flash up and nothing is spawning anywhere on dedi server. Also using the arsenal makes the UI disappear.

For all intents and purposes the new AIS is the final version minus documentation I believe. My ppeffect problem is getting hit, then using a FAK, but STILL having vision problems :(

Are you using psychobastard's new AIS that he's got in beta now ? The effect is too strong for me at the moment (considering how much I get hit :) )

Shops are now working fine. However when I got into combat and wounded my vision was affected and would not return to normal. Could you turn down or off the ppeffects please?
