Arma 2:OA 1.60 Release Candidate

1- Yes, I do know that in "veteran" and "expert" difficulty you can't change the Auto Guide AT setting to ON.

2- What you're talking about (locking vehicles with engine off and bunkers) it's the same thing has while playing as an Apache gunner you aim at a target and press the right mouse button - this way you can lock targets such as vehicles have engine off or static weapons for example but this doesn't have anything to do with laser targets! You can order the Wildcat AI gunner to lock an infantry soldier BUT I'm 100% sure that you CANNOT lock and guide a CRV-7PG rocket into that same infantry soldier!

3- What I'm talking about is for example having two humans flying/crewing in a Wilcat helicopter and having a human gunner marking a laser spot/target and the human pilot locking and firing at the laser spot/target with the CRV-7PG rockets or for example locking a laser target marked by an infantry soldier (thru laser designator) - I tested this several times with the "veteran" and "expert" and "regular" with Auto Guide AT set to OFF difficulties in a DEDICATED SERVER and it doesn't work, PERIOD!

But if you use the Hellfire missile (in the Apache) with these difficulty settings ("veteran", "expert" or regular with Auto Guide AT set to OFF) you don't have ANY PROBLEMS at all locking at laser targets! OR if you play with Auto Guide AT set to ON than you don't have ANY PROBLEMS locking at laser targets just like happens with the Hellfire missile with ANY DIFFICULTY setting.

4- If you look at the ticket related to this problem (which BTW it wasn't even started by me!) you see that several people concur with this same problem and I really find VERY ODD that you don't see this very obvious issue - perhaps you don't fly with the Wilcat helicopter that much....

Because of this problem I and my friends play with Auto Guide AT set to ON and with an edited "regular" dificulty level set in our dedicated server.

No, the point is I don't use a human gunner... with A.I. it works pretty good.

so if I give an order to the pilot to move ia such a position? as I do to go faster?

Nop, you need to wait for the next RC for the fix to be included.

This is great news!! But does that mean that the remaining 30 bugs or so listed in the 1.60 beta will just be pushed back to the next release assuming that they can't be done in the next week or so?

Perhaps, reason being 1.6 has major MP fixes with lag and warp hence we want the patch out the door asap ;)

You can join PR servers with other people? I got kicked everytime i join a server with some people in...

Wow my personal MP experience with RC is the worst I ever had so far. I just hope this is due to the only one server playing warfare beeign a bit crappy set up and throttled down by 30+ players and the obviously inevitable high remote A.I. count. SP worlk very nice and with good performance so far.

Also ive noticed that when i select a unit by F# and 6 the menu has 'open door/close door' twice, when i selected 'close door' the unit ran to a house and stood by the window and closed a door? these options appear anywhere on the map (Chernarus)

Hello, i have problem.. In version 1.59 i have 75-30fps, in 1.60 i have from 70, to 0!!!! Only one AH64 in Takistan (in editor), and i cant play!!! Test it, and with soldier, in all emptys islansds... Test without mods, only A2;CO...

I play on XP Home 32bit sp3, 4GB RAM (use 3.2GB), VGA HD5770 (new drivers), Athlon II X4 635.

I reinstal game, first ArmA2+ArmA2;OA... First reinstal with 1.60, and... :( Second time, with 1.59, and with 1.59, work perfektly... But if instal 1.60, i cant play... And cant play if video setings in LOW!!! But ArmA2 with new 1.11 patch, without OA, work perfeckly!!!

Please, HELLP me...

P.S sorry for my terible englisch...

Defrag the HDD arma is on (except its an SSD).

great patch, just played a little bit online with it and cant believe how fluid it is now. had great fun with some long range firefights against non-lagging and very responsive AI.

havent been playing arma in a long time, with this patch iam having more fun than ever! the development of arma 3 is the best thing that ever happened to arma 2 :)

try this, work for me.

check please your .arma2oaprofile file

there is class modlauncherlist part

most likely there some mods listed there

as now the in-game mod/extension manager was improved these are loaded on game start w/o -mod=

so just clean them from profile file and try start again

Delete other mods or "beta" in your classlist and try again.

ex. my classlist:

Wait what?!? No wonder mods were loading after I removed them all from the target line. So does this load all the mods in my Arma2 folder at once or how exactly does this work? Surely we don't have to load all mods stored there or alter this list evertime :confused:

Imagine a person bought a new computer today and installs:

1. Arma 2 as a stand-alone game. Will 1.60 be the only patch he needs?

2. Operation Arrowhead as a stand-alone game. Will 1.60 be the only patch he needs?

3. Operation Arrowhead and Reinforcements. Will 1.60 be the only patch he needs?

4. Combined Operations. Will 1.60 be the only patch he needs?

There will be a 1.11 full patch for arma2 vanilla alone. and 1.60 is surely for arma2 oa\co\rft

Do this patch unlocked BAF? I ask because after installation in lower left corner i have sign with this DLC and there is no "Buy" button in addition list. In other way, when i try to launch campaign delivered with BAF i have error "bad structure" and game jumps to desktop.

I have shutter problem after installation of patch. You suggest defrag and copy of dll dir.

But i cant find this directory in my Arma2 folder. Can you give me exact path?

There are couple voices of dissapoitment with this patch. I am dissapointed little bit too.

There are plenty of bugs fixed - this is great, but in matter of better handling of the interface (map, equipment, AI interaction with env. via command menu etc.) nothing happened. I hope you will do something with this in th last stage (before a3) of game improvement.

You can't find the dll folder because it is missing from the RC. Just install one of the latest betas and copy the dll folder from there.

A2 does not support TI maps...

I should be clearer, i'm saying the reduce of the default all white heatmap of A2 units to become grey instead.

That should be in there; at least I don't see any reason for them to have reverted this fix. Presumably some fixes simply didn't make it onto the changelog.

In 2D editor,I saw 'cycle' Waypoint draws line to unit automatically.

What does it stand for?

Just a little bit of feedback re: online play.

I've not been a big fan of online for some time due to the creaky lurching feeling when moving and enemy units warping all over the place. Imagine my surprise when I booted this up onto a German server to play Domination and it was as smooth as silk. No warping and my characters movement was fluid. Also, when I died and watched one of the other players bombing about in AH-64, there was virtually no desync.

The only time there was some slight juddering was when I was watching a chopper fly at speed over the mountains, and as the terrain rapidly rose and fell, there was some slight judder. Nothing to worry about really though.

Looks like interpolations doing it's job :)

Thanks for your continued work on Arma 2. I'm super-excited for 1.60 and look forwatrd to lots of online mayhem.
