Dwarden 1125 Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) let me quote myself, the dlls of allocators are missing from RC i discovered that \dll\ folder is not present in the RC at all so it's using "Windows" allocator all the time ... oops it got missing while packaging the RC ;) p.s. check if you dont have beta listed in Extensions (UI) so please in Your game UI goto Extension > select ARMA 2 OA beta and choose Disable and restart game :) ---------- Post added at 04:29 ---------- Previous post was at 04:27 ---------- When the patch has become final i suppose steam will automatically start downloading it for me? this is RC = release candidate, so that's not yet on STEAM when the final version is ready it will be published on STEAM Edited December 3, 2011 by Dwarden
bazza_1964 10 Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) Seems to work fine with a Steam install. Although if you use something like six updater, make sure you run it once through Steam first to re-build the registry.EDIT ----> It did not touch my Arma2 install though - I am still at 1.10.80665 - is that correct? The release notes say 1.11. I'm in the same boat: Combined Ops on Steam, OA at 1.60, but A2 at 1.10....I could use Armarize to launch it I suppose, as I have Beta 1.11 installed...hmm... edit: I forgot to "unblock" the original .rar file! It's updating now....bravo by the way! edit: Still isn't updating A2....hmmmm...running in WinXP sp2 comp mode... baz Edited December 3, 2011 by bazza_1964

ffur2007slx2_5 11 Posted December 3, 2011 Awesome job BIS! But I think it'll be better if the BAF campaign can be removed from CO's campaign list for those who haven't bought Reinforcement or DLCs because the game will shut off if you miss click the title. wiggum2 31 Posted December 3, 2011 Hi ! What if the final will be differed in some way, will i be able to update the RC to the final or do i have to reinstall the whole game to get the final patch working ?
dimitri_harkov 10 Posted December 3, 2011 Two recent beta-patch changes are missing from the 1.60 RC changelog: [86851] Fixed: Vehicles attached on ships attached to objects sometimes destroyed (http://dev-heaven.net/issues/26668) [86839] Fixed: Cannot manipulate doors after game was aborted with doors in transit. (http://dev-heaven.net/issues/26702) Just an oversight in the changelog or have the fixes not been included in the RC for any reason? In any case: big thanks to BIS for the continued support :) Cheers, D.
sgt_savage 586 Posted December 3, 2011 Something wrong here, my performance has dipped when turning round or flying in Heli I'm stuttering severely the PC is trying to catch up, didn't happen with patch 1.59, Anyone else having this issue?
xmongx 0 Posted December 3, 2011 Did you try defrag after applying patch?, thats the usual suspect for me. Look into using contig to defrag only the arma2 folder, works wonders.

It is updating and installing very large data. ARMA 2 OA ARMA 2 OA: Updating version 1.59 to version 1.60... Error found in file expansion\addons\languagemissions_e.pbo (c0a54b30!=2dad4060) ArmA 2: Updating version 1.10 to version 1.11... ArmA 2 patch 1.11 has been applied successfully. Neopas 10 Posted December 3, 2011 Hello and thanks for the great support. Patching process was successful but I get worse performance and more texture popping now when I run the OA benchmark.Fragmentation should not be an issue since the game is installed on an Intel drive.I am downloading latest beta now ,to get the dll folder and test the different allocators, to see if it helps. RPT file is giving me dozens of lines of: Cannot load sound 'ca\dubbingradio_e\radio\male04tk\default\weapons\cannonlow.ogg' Cannot load sound 'ca\dubbingradio_e\radio\male04tk\default\weapons\machinegun.ogg' (Looks like I am missing the voice of the Takistan Army T-72 commander telling the gunner to switch weapons .) This means I have to reinstall the game and patch again? Win XP32sp3,285.58 WHQL driver. A2 Retail,A2OA+DLC Sprocket. Any help appreciated.

xeno 234 Posted December 3, 2011 RPT file is giving me dozens of lines of: Cannot load sound 'ca\dubbingradio_e\radio\male04tk\default\weapons\cannonlow.ogg' Cannot load sound 'ca\dubbingradio_e\radio\male04tk\default\weapons\machinegun.ogg' Right, many of them in the RPT file, old problem, see http://dev-heaven.net/issues/11603 Another problem, the RC does not have the custom memory allocator dll folder included thus starting the RC with -malloc=whatever_allocator does always use the standard Windows allocator, http://dev-heaven.net/issues/26775 Xeno

xeno 234 Posted December 3, 2011 Yet another one... http://dev-heaven.net/issues/26779 The new visiblePosition scripting command is not known to the dedi server exe. Causing script errors if a script has the command and is executed on the dedi server (the command is only for clients but might be in a script which is used by both, client and server). Guess Who 10 Posted December 3, 2011 First: Thanx BIS for the providing the continued hard work and the best support ever. Second: Not to forget the countless community members contributing to it by testing all those betas as well as providing the tools like CIT/DevHeaven. They should not go unnoticed. Thanx guys. Third: The solution to copy the DLL-directory from the beta-folder to the ArmA root folder works. Fouth: The RC broke Norrin's Aerial Taxi script. It does work in principle, but the helo only moves at very slow speed, like 20 or 30 km/h. Seems like a regression from the last beta. I'll report this issue over at norrin's thread in the scripting forum as well. Might have to do with the doMove command not working as expected.
