ohh... but there is... it's in 61062 :p

and the performance seems doesnt change, meaning for me, it is very playable and smooth with everything on high, VD at 3500m. using the Chernogorsk Benchmark mission, I got 24average fps and 33-34 highest fps

Testing the latest 61062 (+SOW/VOPSOUND)

With Benny Warfare on Sbrodj. Using dedicated server (running 6102 beta) there still seems to be that elastic tank bug which is basically a tank going forwards and then all of a sudden moved back to starting position. This bug was also in Arma 1. Happy to stand corrected if its something to do with ded server settings etc (using config recommended by Benny). All the BETAS are great :). Friend also noted that the AI gunners in AZ choppers are bit slow to react at times.

I've noticed a strange bug with the latest beta (the one with BattleEye). On dedicated server I opened fire on enemy (vis confirm) and for each killed enemy (again, confirmed by me and co-soldiers) I recieved a -1 kill :o anyone else? I'll try to reproduce it.

This one is a bit tricky.

There is perhaps one thing that might help preformance issues, but I'm not sure it can technically be done. Is there some way of disabling water or the animation and graphical effects

of water under the map (i.e. under what is land/solid surface)?

Please improve and make further AI developments - especially if AI are using aircrafts.

Place yourself as gunner of an Mi-24 and SU-25/SU-39 and see how the AI fly and attack targets. After that place yourself as observer and watch how AI pilots are flying, using altitude, speed, using guided missiles and unguided rockets. Even on UltraAI they will be shot down quickly or simply crashing against objects. At least default AI should be a threat if they are using combat planes and helicopters. Stop those suicidal attacks!

61062 is working great for me, just need to fix the gray freeze screen upon exit (just happen sometimes)

I just rolled back to 60000 to see how much progress has been made, and I have to say the ai has improved massively.

However i got much better performance in 60000, and now in the latest beta im struggling for fps again.

Performance in few recent betas is generally rather bad. I have never had so choppy experience before. I hope it will be tuned till 1.05 is out.

Why have the downloads speeds dropped so much recently? I've tried to dl the latest patch 3 times at speeds of 12kb/s and then got Timed Out :(

Also, BI forums have seemed slow past couple of days.

Same here but since late yesterday(CET) the forums + download speed has been fine :)

About sounds from guns and explosions:

When you turn you back to gun/explosion sources they can barely be heard and sometimes they are mute!

Also explosion sounds dosn't fade out properly but suddently become mute when at certain distance.

When you turn you back to gun/explosion sources they can barely be heard and sometimes they are mute!

Also explosion sounds dosn't fade out properly but suddently become mute when at certain distance.

That sounds like your windows sound settings are messed up, I haven't had any such issues, except once with Arma1 when I had incorrectly set up surround sound speakers. Maybe check that out?

If you have surround sound with Matrix mode as an option... turn it off :eek: i find that in most games with matrix mode turned on sounds behind me are mute :eek: with it turned off i can hear sounds from all directions...

I just plugged out my surround and tried with stereo headphones and the result was the same.

When i play a sound using the "say" command i can hear it loud and clear when turning my back on it and it fades away when i move away.

I can't figure out how it can be a setting my end that makes explosions not properly fade away but just stop when reaching a certain distance.

You were right, i bow to the master :p

I disabled the onbard realtek sound card and installed my Audigy 2 card from my old box and now everything works fine :)

I'm automatically mirroring betas to http://mirror.quex.org/arma/beta/

You're welcome to download from there if you find it faster. BIS' server seems to have returned to its usual speed for me though, almost 200 KB/sec. But you never know when they'll get hammered again, I suppose. It polls the beta patch page every 15 minutes so should be reasonably up to date.
