Contact Expansion Asset Feedback

Recommended Posts

C'mon folks, this is a feedback thread not a wishlist.....wishes are nice but i highly doubt we will get anything more than what has been officially presented. Let's not forget all the assets that are part of the Contact DLC are centered around the SP Campaign.

Technically it is feedback, just feedback on things that should be easy additions and would help the Contact assets mesh in with the vanilla game a bit better.

I'm sorry, it's not feedback, not even technically, the last page was mainly suggestions and wishlists. In any case there is a already a dedicated thread for such things.

Well, that's your opinion, but I'm not going to argue about it. Thanks for the link though; I didn't know about that thread.

I would agree with EO, this thread is for feedback not suggestions. Please use the dedicated thread as indicated.

Nope...

I mean the name of ammo types for several AK-12/RPK-12 drums, e.g.:

"7.62毫米75发AK-12弹匣";

"7.62毫米75发AKM弹匣"; and

"7.62毫米75发AKM曳光弹弹匣".

I understand those "弹匣" may be directly translated from "mag(azine)", but there is a difference between Chinese and English terms on these mags:

* In English, a "Drum" is a kind of “Magazine”;

* In Chinese,  "弹鼓"(=Drum) is EXCLUSIVE with "弹匣"(=Magazine).

     $ Only the drum-like, spring-loaded magazines are called "弹鼓". (e.g., the 75-Round RPK drum)

     $ Drum-like belt-loaded magazines are called "弹链鼓". (e.g., the 100-Round RPD drum)

     $ Only the box-shaped, spring-loaded magazines are called "弹匣". (e.g., the 30-Round AK mag)

     $ Box-shaped, belt-loaded magazines are called "弹链盒". (e.g., the 100-Round PKM box)

     & Plate-shaped, spring-loaded magazines are called "弹盘". (e.g., the 47-Round DPM pan)

So it is wrong to call those 75-Round mags as "弹匣". I recommend "弹鼓" instead.

Also please note we have now newly created a dedicated localization/translation feedback at:

Valid feedback, however as per design we call these as "mags" (not "drums"), even in English, so the translation is actually correct.

Love the CBRN gear. Looks great and makes me want to create something new with it. Just have to figure out what. Hmm.

Looter (Rifle) and Looter (Shotgun) units are coming with AAF uniforms by default, which they definitely shouldn't have.

And yes, I agree with Lexx, the CBRN gear is stunning.

It's really small but NATO combat fatigues (first noticed this with the woodland ones added in the recent update, which is totally awesome, by the way; GREAT update!) clip through the shoulders of Carrier Special Rigs. The other factions' fatigues don't have this problem.

Known Issue: new drone / turret backpacks don't work (the vehicles are not yet available)

Known Issue: various new faction loadouts are still undergoing tweaks / fixes

Known Issue: 2 Looters have 'unknown uniforms'

Known Issue: CBRN Specialists don't automatically show the correct hose / filter by script

Seems it's not visible so I'm reposting it here too 😉

My bad, skipped that one in the known issues list.

Wasn't there supposed to be a small Forest Ranger faction? I remember reading something like that.

It bugs me a bit that the Modular Carrier Rig is a stripped-down bare rig, while the "Lite" version has stuff all over it. Seems backwards.

Also, it would be really great if we could have "no flag" versions of the woodland NATO kit. The uniforms and plate carriers would be super useful for European NATO militaries, but you can't use them for that because they've got US flags all over them.

Edit: the new Kitbag (Green) is just a duplicate of the vanilla Kitbag (Green). Please consider making it a different colour, firstly so it's not completely redundant and secondly so it can match the bag on the back of the Spetznaz vest.

Tweaked: Reduced mass for the sawed-off Kozlice variant and adjusted several parameters to properly show stats in Virtual Arsenal (General Discussion - Dev-Branch)

It's not tweaked.

I really hope that Spetsnaz get more than just a chest rig. Because, as is, they just get one shotted  basically. It would be fine if AI knew how to spec ops pretty well but as is, they will just be gunned down waaaay easier than CSAT soldiers because of their lack of protection. Maybe just remix of existing gears perhaps? One shotted spec ops is not really a threat as enemy AI just like how CTRG isn't much of a threat due to their low armor.

The Spetsnaz Granit suits have the same armour values as CSAT fatigues. So they should have an equivalent level of protection to any CSAT unit wearing an LBV harness, and only slightly less protection than Viper units.

It would be nice to have a green version of the Raven vest or something, though.

edit: though the existing Tactical Vest (Olive) works quite nicely with the Granit suits

Loving the new gear so far! I'll post some feedback in a big list soon.

For now... ❤️

Yeah, it is why I don't think it makes sense to put Spetsnaz on the same level as some CSAT non-specialist units really. Tbh, I wished more for Viper level protection for them as Vipers are tougher and resilient to fight against and they wear something that looks similar to what Russians are developing irl. I love the looks of current uniforms. Just being greedy here really. But, now, I can complete the alien nerd farmer loadout with tinfoil hat I suppose. Lol

Rendered at 200%...the new gear is making me feel all fuzzy inside, especially the Russian Spetsnaz gear.....In my house we're calling this the Phantom Pain DLC. :icon_biggrin:

New gear looks super duper cool, I do have to mention that Gorkas are looking way too simple and underwhelming. Upper body needs to be "simple" in order to avoid clipping through body armors, but you can work with legs then.

Perhaps combine legs from CSAT outfit with current upper body of Gorka?

Or at least could you please at add knee pads to current Gorka models?

It's like Christmas all over again! Plenty of fun and really good looking stuff.

I notice a lot of glitching mainly.

> new helmets stripes are glitching with bandanas more then old helmets

ex: Advanced Modular Helmet stripe compared to old Combat Helmet stripe with bandana facewear

(In real world: Bandanas are very popular in Polish uniforms. Please have a second look at new helmet stripes working with bandanas.)

> new LDF uniform glitching with bandana on one side

> all new mask glitching with CBRN suits on sides

> a pace of uniform going through a flag, LDF uniforms

This is visible only in idle animation in Arsenal:

7hEt44a.jpg

> Respirator bells looks like need some more work, looks very off when there is no any vest dressed

> different brown color in LDF camouflage - comparing vest to helmets  to uniform;

> old Modular helmet + new CBRN suit + new mask - not much work needed to have those work together;

 or maybe just old Combat Helmet please! Would be nice to have some of those not glitching.

> Looter Clothes (T-Shirt, Olive) the one with those green-kind-of-DIY-camo -> can we have full Looter uniform like that?

Jacket and trousers please - this looks awesome!

aozq2PQ.jpg

This is probably the most effective camouflage in Arma3 !

> Woodland uniform boot soles are more glossy than others, color looks little to bright

comparing to CTRG Stealth Uniform boots

> ED1E backpack. It look like upside down... Definitely not looking like something pleasant to carry in that current configuration.

BTW:

HcYmNG8.jpg

I love you guys for those Polish references!

Thank you for rushing this dev-branch update! Uniforms looks awesome!

I can't wait to see how you're going to "ravage" those - and the CBRN stuff! bave.png
