Evillyzz 0 Posted August 11, 2015 Hey, in case you didn't notice my answer in our CUP forum on how to set it up, here is the LINK And btw, thank you all for your kind words! Thanks again but I am very new to modding servers so I really don't know where to find that stuff at.
MrSanchez 243 Posted August 11, 2015 Directed at Alwarren because I think its his site - Will you be keeping this up to date? http://friedenhq.org/tmp/CUP_Class%20List/classlist.html Or will you at least keep it even though its outdated? I am aware that the CUP wiki has a class list too...however the reason why I prefer the way you did it here is because everything is on a single page which allows for very rapid classname searching (by using only ctrl+f) whereas on the wiki it's sorted by page on weapon category which causes it to take more time & effort to find classnames, having to go back and forth through weapon types (still pretty fast though). Just wondering.
aliascartoons 182 Posted August 11, 2015 Yeah, Alwarren keeps that file up to date. However you can check out our forums if you want to find out in advance about files and mod updates: http://forums.cup-arma3.org/

Alwarren 2767 Posted August 11, 2015 Hi, I made a list of magazines mass values that I think need to be adjusted compared to vanilla Arma 3 equipment. I.E. CUP 556 Stanag takes more space in inventory then vanilla Stanag magazine. You may find this list useful at least to some extent. I listed all magazines AFAIK, some are fine though IMO. I also listed most of vanilla values (except for UGL ammo types that are all the same) for quick comparison. The problem with these values is that there are two very distinctive quantities (mass and volume) rolled into a single number. There's never going to be anything "right" or "wrong". For example, vanilla AT mines weight (according to one of the weight tracking addons) around 2 kg, while the real AT mines weight 16. That is actually more than fits the Carryall, because in reality you cannot compare volume and mass - a 1 kg lead cube will weight as much as a 1 kg styrofoam, but the sizes will be quite different. Still, how do you measure it? IMO most of the values for vanilla content are too low. You notice that with rockets/missiles, most specialist roles have so many of them that they don't even need an ammo bearer since they can carry four already. Having said this, the weights will probably be fluent over time. When encoding the USMC and FR factions, I noticed I had to adjust some of them down to make them fit the uniforms. Thank you for your list, I'll review the values and see what I can adjust. I really REALLY wish there had been two values (mass and volume) which would make this a much more realistic exercise. Chairborne 2594 Posted August 11, 2015 Have the guides to porting uniforms from A2 to A3 been posted yet? I would like to try and contribute. Well porting the uniform itself is "easy", there's just a handful of proxies to copypaste from the character template and minor config work, the problem is there is remodeling required depending on which uniform you work on. As you probably know most A2 uniforms had things like vests and holsters embedded in a single model along with helmets and uniforms, and those have to be split. If you really want to give it a try contact me on skype, there should be the address in my profile. tinter 186 Posted August 11, 2015 Are the new sounds gonna be final? I'm kind of disappointed in them, in my opinion they're really only improving by not being too loud, but other than that I would've preferred the old sounds, just a bit quieter. The new sounds are so deep that they sound flat, really no kick at all.

audiocustoms 375 Posted August 11, 2015 Are the new sounds gonna be final? I'm kind of disappointed in them, in my opinion they're really only improving by not being too loud, but other than that I would've preferred the old sounds, just a bit quieter. The new sounds are so deep that they sound flat, really no kick at all. I went through this discussion many, many times (A3 Audio Tweeking for dev branch) and it is not easy to me to not sound offencive and to be tottaly clear in what i want to say. Language barrier and stuff ;) But be sure, it is absolutely not my intention to treat someone condescendingly! Also i will refer to statements on our bugtracker so see this as a more "in general" note. So first of all, this is still WIP and yes the sounds are (mostly) pretty bass/lowend heavy so it might seem a bit "muffled". This definitly needs rework. But old sounds or even JSRS like mentioned on the bugtracker are totally unacceptable. The reason is very simple and also the reason why i worked the new sounds for month (and o/c the new tail sound configs). Most, if not all of those sounds are recordings from youtube or similar. Videos recorded with camcorders or helmetcams and those microphones record anything but reallife sound. This not enough, all of those sounds, and i mean ALL, are distorted / overdriven and generally in pretty bad quality shape. So everytime somebody telling me "hey, this is what it must sound like" and points me to a youtube video i burst out laughing b/c this is totally NOT what it is in RL. Like i already mentioned crappy camera microphones, internal sound processing in the camera, dataloss while uploading, more dataloss when converted to YT audioformat and again qualityloss when audioprocessed again. So please don't get me wrong, but only guys who actually shot those weapons before know how it sounds and feels. And i dought that even 2% of the whole community ever fired a single shot. To be honest, i never did. But what i know is, there are NO adequate references on the web except sound libraries recorded from professional sound engineers. This is why i've spend a lot of money to get my hands on that. So i can assure you that more than 80% of CUP Weapon sounds are based uppon the real weapons and their sounds recorded in the US by professionals. But nevertheless like i said, this is WIP and i will do my very best to provide you with sterling sounds and keeping it as real as possible. Thanks for your input!

Jona33 51 Posted August 11, 2015 Desperately needs HLC animations. If it had that the weapons would be excellent. Didn't Toadie make at least some of his source files available? Can't remember if that was only for demonstration purposes or if they could actually be used as part of CUP but his animations are so damn good. Aside from that, loving the weapon pack, I'll confess to missing some of the weirder weapons available in the older games (especially the Lee Enfield. :D) so having those back is nice. Also, a MASSIVE thank you for using that icon system in the virtual arsenal so we can see what mod the weapons belong to, I just threw this on top of my usual mods for testing (which includes RHS) so it's dead handy to have that.
