Ophelian - Mil Logistics will indeed use custom objectives to spawn reinforcements if they fall within the relevant criteria. Logistics is about to get a major overhaul for 0.7 though - that is, we're actually going to add a proper logistics setup rather than the interim module we have at the moment.

Phronk - funny but understandably not very immersive! Will add the carts and race martials to the unit blacklist.

One of my group's members attempted to escape from an enemy APC on one of the go-karts that was randomly spawned and it didn't go well, but it was hilarious!

Im trying to use CAF aggressors as enemies but ALIVE will only spawn CSAT as OPFOR. I was able to use MEC Rangers as BLUFOR. I even saw one enemy wearing the clothes of a middle eastern aggressor and the helmet and weapon of CSAT. That was a strange sight indeed. When I tried using the ME aggressor civilians ALIVE would spawn the ARMA 3 civilians and vehicles also.

Im using the class name "caf_ag_me" and , like I said, the Rangers are working just not the aggressors. I also got an error message which could be relevant- 'config.bin/CfgWeapons.U_CAF_AG_ME_ROBES_02d'.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those missions are just demos we knocked up for testing and were made before we released persistence, but all it would take is to add the database and player persistent modules. However, ALiVE is a mission making tool, so you can make whatever you want with it! Make sure you sync each OPCOM to all placement modules that you want it to know about - these provide the list of objectives for it to attack as well as placing units down, so if you don't sync them it won't know where the hostile objectives are. Four Ways demo mission is probably the best example of a full map, multi faction mission.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'make MSO' - ALiVE is made by the same team and based entirely on the same concepts. If you want a mostly static, whole map scenario check out the vid I posted a page or so back. That'll populate all the locations around the map for you.

I've been missing this as well. I really enjoyed MSO as it was great just to hop into a map and have enemy AI everywhere. I will check out your vid.

SouthernSmoke - those errors seem to indicate your Aggressors mod isn't installed properly. Try redownloading it.

The only noticeable thing that the patch affected was that the modules to spawn civilian vehicles now include Go-Karts, which as you can imagine, looks ridiculous in the Middle East and parked outside of people's houses in any map. I also heard that if you also use the CIV_F faction to spawn default Altis civilians, it now also spawns people suited up to race in Go-Karts (unconfirmed).

Hi,

i was try to get help in the Skype Group. But maybe i can catch more help, on this Forum. I try to setup my Server to Report to WarRoom but it does not connect. The Only referenc i got is the Log from the alive.log

It says, my IP is 173.245.53.62, but this IP are from CloudFlare. My Server are not associated with CloudFlare and my IP is 93.186.192.47. So why the Log says, my IP is 173.245.53.62?

I Use ALiVE 0.65 with the latest Arma2NET Plugin allready installed. DB Module is placed on my Mission. Hope some one can gave me a hint, what i need to do.

Another thing I'd like to report is that I noticed civilian vehicles (at least civilian trucks, I haven't checked the rest yet) spawn with multiple First Aid Kits in their inventory. Would it help optimize civilian vehicle spawning if you guys used "removeAllItemsCargoGlobal" for every civilian vehicle that is spawned? Or would it be extra stuff for the game to check and not really optimize anything at all effectively?

I know you guys ain't to blame but I kindly request you to block the "Karts" content from the spawn system. We use a heavily modded system and we need the spawn system to be as generic as possible but karts... I mean... ouch...

Is the CQB module meant to spawn civilians? I have a CQB module synced to two Military Placement modules and set to Dominant, but it seems that when there are many "civilians" in an area, the CQB module is spawning civilians, which results in an excess of civilians in many instances.

Phronk - that's ArmA3 standard. If we added that code it would probably break the upcoming logistics module.

Subunit - CQB is seeing Civ_F as the dominant faction in the area and therefore spawning more of them - it's actually intended that way so a 'cleared' or neutral town doesn't randomly start spawning military units again. Both Profiles and CQB have a cap to prevent excess amounts spawning in one place though, so shouldn't be a massive issue.

That makes sense, thanks friznit. I'll just lower the Civilian placement density to account for this.

subunit - you may be running into a hard cap on spawned AI. It's less noticeable if you approach AI normally (i.e. not teleporting) but it's there to prevent overloading the server by having thousands of profiles spawn at once. There's a user setting for it in the relevant modules.

I had some more time to play around with this, and I think I was misunderstanding what the field for the # of profiles to spawn is- I understood a "profile" to mean the entire unit/squad, but does the value actually refer to each individual soldier? So that a cap of 10 profiles means it will only spawn 10 AI? After setting the profile spawn cap to 50 in the AAF COIN mission, the disappearing profile behaviour went away. I added civilians tonight as well and we're having a great time with this, looking forward to the updated logistics module.

Profiles technically refers to a group, but some elements spawn a lot of individuals - 10 would indeed be very limiting. Glad you sorted it though. If I remember I'll add this as an editor tip in the wiki for future reference.

I've got a question about the war room.

We run our servers on hosted server with FTP access, which doesnt have a pathway for "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ALiVE." for the alive.cfg to be placed into.

I might be reading it wrong when it says "This all needs to be done on your dedicated server.

Can someone explain this to me?

im just trying to get in mission making again and alive. Here are some questions about it:

- civ module is now spawning a lot (%) of kards. looks like a kindergarden, can/will you do s.t. against that?

- civ module bomber is already possible? didnt find it.

- how to use trigger with alive stuff? e.g. when towns are capped my nato, civ should get enemy to csat and i want constant attacking of enemy until a area is cleared of AA units.

1. Did you mean Karts? That is an issue with the Karts being in the default ArmA 3 vehicle pool now and an update will be coming to fix that.

2. Do you mean suicide bombers? It takes a long time to piss off the civs enough to make that happen.

3. Are you trying to make it so that one faction attacks another? Or so that the enemy continuously attacks until their AA are destroyed?

2. So civilians need to be killed and then they will attack with suicide? Hmm tought of taking some soft of terrorist (%) in town with same clothes because "the good ones" dont attack civ's normally ;)

3. Nato cap town, civ in town should then be enemy to csat, csat should attack until { 90% of civ is dead (town lost for nato) OR attack until AA in their area is destroyed (storywise: save support end with no aa)}.

numrollen, there is a hostility setting, but civs need to get angry, takes quite a while, but is really spooky, once its kicking in ;) needs some tweaks though!

there are some script snippets on our wiki, that may help you building your conditions for the needed triggers! would be cool if you could share da mish with the community once finished!

They're probably polishing the release and correcting any issues the new ArmA III patch might have introduced to the add-on. The patch for ArmA III did come out on the 31st! That probably set them back, since BI usually releases patches a tad earlier than that.

Is build 0.6.8 gonna get released or are you guys skipping it? I see on your dev calendar it was due out on May 31st.

Yeah 0.6.8 is still in testing but looking good so far ;)

Yo comrade!

As you see we are 92% done, the problem is that the major goal of this release was to reduce the saving times and loading times when connected to the DB!

While we achieved an imrovement of about 500% on saving (it took 1 sec per record to safe, now its 0.05 seconds, i may have miscalculated it lol) the same needs to be done for loading, and thats not finished yet! So as long as ALiVE is working and there are no major issues (asides the karts), we will wait for 0.6.8 to include all our goals before deplyoing it! If there are major issues we will deploy sooner of course!

I beg you to have some more patience so we can finish up the loading part!
