Tankbuster 1746 Posted August 24, 2012 Just wanted to give an update about performance and the ACR DLC. Helps if you delete your user configuration file as it will clear up any problems you may be having. I know it worked for me. Just wanted to throw that out there. But won't that mean redoing all my keybinds?
Guess Who 10 Posted August 24, 2012 But won't that mean redoing all my keybinds? Keybinds would be in your profile not in the config ...
Kommiekat 11 Posted August 24, 2012 Hi, I have a Mission making question: If I patch the ACR_LITE version to my CO 1.62, create a mission and DO NOT place ANY units nor OBJECTS from ACR, I mean NOTHING from it, will other players still be able to open and play my missions or will they have to download ACR_LITE? I have the Lite ready to patch, but I'm hesitating at the moment.

Helps if you delete your user configuration file as it will clear up any problems you may be having. I know it worked for me. Just wanted to throw that out there. Didn't work for me, or at least not completely. If I use the executable in the game root to run the game, it does work, but if I use the excellent Spirited Machine launcher, it doesn't. Redphoenix 1540 Posted August 24, 2012 Is there a steam release date yet?
metalcraze 290 Posted August 24, 2012 My bet is it will come to Steam when it will stop being a beta version it is now.
okdante 0 Posted August 24, 2012 The Czech dubbing is ...terrible. Again, over and over again. Whereas in good ol' OFP, aka Arma Cold War Assault, it sounded cute and amateurish - after all BI was a sort of a local family studio ;) and the terrible voice acting was a little flaw in the lights of so many new features brought into PC gaming, in ARMA2 dlc it is unforgivable. It seems, it sounds like nothing has changed since those times. It sounds like the voice acting is done as a side job by a programmer :D Not that I don't know people good as performers and programmers, but I doubt it is the case of every one of them. Please, don't underestimate the importance of hearing. BI finally realized that with sounds. Now, voice acting should not fall behind and should not stink of studio and paper. Unnatural voice kills the immersion.
PELHAM 10 Posted August 27, 2012 Just wanted to give an update about performance and the ACR DLC. Helps if you delete your user configuration file as it will clear up any problems you may be having. I know it worked for me. Just wanted to throw that out there. Thanks for the hint - this cleared up many performance issues that are nothing to do with the ACR DLC - it's the 1.62 patch conflicting with the settings in your old playername.arma2OAprofile file located in: documents/ArmA 2 Other Profiles/playername Exit the game, delete the above profile and restart, game will create a new profile with the correct format - graphics card stops misbehaving and game is back to how it was under 1.60! zatoichi 10 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) I can't get past the second mission, Patrol, the convoy escort is bugged. Tried it +10 times now, different difficulties, starting campaign from scratch. Nothing works. I get the convoy safely to the marker... nothing happens. http://i.minus.com/ickhLwWwvvWK0.jpg (117 kB) Edited August 28, 2012 by Zatoichi 'Campaign' cheat ftw
Nikoteen 24 Posted August 28, 2012 Yes, that and a lot of other things are broken. Speaking of it, any news of a patch ?!
twisted 128 Posted August 28, 2012 I'm not too happy with the quality of this DLC, too. I've been really expecting to see a nice new smaller woodland map, but got the clipped stuff from Chernarus, retextured... with couple of new trees. But then again, I've paid more for a lunch (chicken with rice) yesterday at Chinese Restaurant ;) exactly right - a beer and chinese chicken fried rice box cost me $24 recently. ACR left a way better taste in my mouth - but i certainly would like to at least see full size cherno map. i tried porting a mission from cherno to the new map and i was surprised by how much smaller it is and what lovely areas arent there. i like the weapons, they pretty nice. skulldragon 1 Posted August 28, 2012 i like the weapons, they pretty nice. Yeah, for me the weapons are the highlight of the DLC. I'm especially fond of the UK59. I was originally disappointed with the maps, but I've come to like Bystrica as has seen quite a few changes from that area of Chernarus. I've got nothing against Bukovina, but apart from the trees and a small construction site-like area, it seems identical to the Vybor airport area. The vehicles are pretty cool too, but the Pandur seems to not carry too much ammo, and I'd prefer a .50 cal Dingo over the 7.62mm (though having both would be better, ofc). I guess I've been fortunate and avoided bugs (apart from the Kusan thing), but I've found the missions so far (only 3 admittedly) to be very enjoyable. OMAC 254 Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) The one-two punch of Wind Storm and Dum Spiro Spero is BIS mission making at its best. Absolutely top notch, kick-ass, and unforgettable. The entire campaign, while not perfect (yet), is classic BIS and makes ACR a must-buy (especially for the price). Just my 2 cents. And don't forget about the Chernarus Summerpack mod: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=10094&highlight=SUMMER%2BCHERNARUS ------------------------------------------------------------------ Mountain infantry combat training, Bystrica: zP34mVwg924 ZCY5hL-oW3Y 2R8r8eBOVhI q92QMl0VbMk New: Spetsnaz patrol sqqk2rDCOkc Two more exercises against Spetsnaz in Bystrica: 3sM8Ce15cAk Edited September 6, 2012 by OMAC

The weapons are a joy to play with. Nice change of pace after using M4s for so long.
GRS 10 Posted September 1, 2012 Kinda wish that I.. you know... could play it... I like to keep series all in method of purchase and unfortunately I only have ArmA2 on disc and again plus OA and DLC's on steam. Still looking forward to it anyways.
Dawks 10 Posted September 2, 2012 Know what? There's 120 pages in this thread. 1191 comments. I read through and I find comments on trees ... ... mebbe it's just me, but I have to just shrug and install. I don't really like doing that.
GRS 10 Posted September 5, 2012 I'm really starting to lose interest in this. I doubt it's BIS's fault but it's been weeks now.
luthor 1 Posted September 6, 2012 I was wondering if this DLC or the others for this matter, do they normally be on sale?
MavericK96 0 Posted September 6, 2012 I'm really starting to lose interest in this. I doubt it's BIS's fault but it's been weeks now. Same here. I think I'll end up waiting till the next patch to fix all the issues with it before I end up buying (hopefully it'll be on Steam by then, too).
kylania 568 Posted September 6, 2012 It's $12, some beers cost more than that. Pony up and enjoy the awesome units, guns and Target Locator already. :)

GRS 10 Posted September 7, 2012 Because I want to keep all of the games/DLC organized by one method of purchase.
reconteam 19 Posted September 7, 2012 I don't have anything against Sprocket but I agree with GRS. Sometimes even with Steam ArmA II, OA, and the modules have occasional trouble acting together under CO.
