  2. Took this new build for a quick spin last nite -impressive, definitely has its own feel for a new type of AI experience. The AI vaulting over things just brings so much life to them - i added those combat somersault animations and it can play out pretty bada$$

    Doors

    I know that by the year 2035, door framing will have been perfected as predicted by the Mayans -but these doors don't make a peep. Was wondering if sounds are planned to be added and if so, hopefully AI will react to them. Also, doors should all push inward for as it is now -they are ill willed metal beasts that push you outta there way! Ideally, incremental door opening would be best.

    Wouldnt mind supporting DLC if they once in a while gave us something new like oh i dont know... some new combat animations? Seriously we've had the same robot moves forever now and they have their own Mocap studio yet all we ever get in that regard are cutscene animations -what good are those once that scene is done except for machinma? Id buy every single DLC if they started upgrading those aspects which to me are at the very core of the game

Came out of the same engine at some point they changed but still very similar -i owned it ($500) and bought it just to try their much ballyhooed "Xaitment" ai pathfinding (a middleware solution company) that TOTALLY sucked! Literally zero improvement over old pathfinding and probably worse This newest version looks slick but is no longer for the General pop

Hey Leopard curious if you seen the new VBS AI in which all cover positions are dynamically calculated- time to petition for cross platform eh ..:p Also was wondering what your opinion on vanilla AI's habit of constantly standing up and spinning in different directions while in combat rather than staying orientated on known threats. I see that youve disabled some arma anima's - is this part of your overall gameplan?
  9. Pretty sure thats a common warcry in Arabic. Really supposed to be used before you kill anything like an animal to eat or even a mosquito as it is one of Gods creation. As long as the friendly Arabs are saying "ASalaamu Alakum (peace be unto you) I dont see anything wrong with that. Alhough Arab villagers being dubbed with "Buggah off ya Wankahs!!" could be pretty good too..

    Man news on any future plans for this game seems deader than the sea scrolls. I have no play time with enfusion engine - does it have any noticeable animation progress over armas?

  12. Any chance you could have the Crew pop out have them reach under the tank with some sort of Deadlift animation have them growl nationalistic chants really loudly and have them heave the tank Right-Side-Up?

    Im the resident hater but despite that its still a must have entry for anyone even remotely into cross armed military sims/fps. That said - i still hate them.

    @Machiya: sorry bro wasnt trying to give you a hard time - maybe a good idea to leave the mod name displayed while that particular mod is running. I dont think you have to be biased to comment on some strengths and weaknesses of each mod as they play out in real time. Theres one major flaw in AI design which so far no mod has managed to fix -that being orientation/animations. Almost all of my kills against AI even if they have better position on me is because for no real apparent reason -they tend to just stand up and randomly swing away with scope help up high and rotate to go move somewhere else to go repeat the procedure of kneel/go prone re-orient back on threat. Ive watched hundreds of hours of iraq/afghan type infantry footage and this just never happens. Why if you have a known enemy shooting at you from one specific direction, would anyone stand up and rotate away (with scope up) UNLESS they were gonna perhaps sprint to known cover but they would never pull sights up while maneuvering. It is at this precise moment that a player can just dominate AI - i shot 9 at once recently all because of this most unnecessary movement. These types of kills are highly unsatisfying as your only winning a firefight due to poor ai design. Whats even stranger is that Arma ai does have the very nice ability to strafe walk, walk backwards while staying oriented to threat but they are unable to lay down suppressive fire while moving -something i see alot of in real footage. My hope if there is ever an Armaa 4 is that this sort of crucial animation/movement flaw is fixed. That a finely tuned animation system that involves every aspect of these types of transition moves and how they would effect accuracy (on the move) be highly specific and highly calibrated. The recently released Bannerlord has done an outstanding job in precisely how even the slightest movement adjustment -stance being left leg or right leg forward would effect the power/precision of a sword swing on the physics level. Arma military simulator deserves this level of fine attention.
