Hello, I got this problem with SIX updater now.

This happens with the Six Updater - GUI.

Hi, please close the updater program, clean your virtual store of any Six-Updater (and arma, while you're at it) related files.

Then restart the GUI and it should be fine.

Reference info on Virtual store: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/6806

If you still have issues after that, please uninstall the Six-Updater (during uninstallation answer 'yes' to remove configuration files).

Then install the latest version from the Files section

Why does the Air Force SOAR faction periodically disappear in the unit editor? You can still use the little birds with the mission creator wizard.

I'm sorry but I've been looking around in circles for the past hour on where I can DL the ACE 2 DL but I keep getting thrown in circles without any 'Download' anywhere. Just circles and circles of info on it. I even clicked the 'How to Download/Install ACE' and it takes me to a 550 error. Any help?

1. Install the Six Updater (if not already done LINK)
2. Start the 'Six Updater - GUI', this will open a web interface after a few seconds. If not browse to http://127.0.0.1:16333/main

3. Click on 'Main'.

4. Ensure that the 'A.C.E. Mod (Vanilla)' preset is selected. (Click inside the preset field, and select it)

5. Click 'Execute'.

To use gear like masks, earplugs etc you do need to add your player name to the user config file as documented in the FAQ. Then, after adding goggles etc, you will see menu actions to put on masks or use earplugs.

I haven't' done this yet, but do the earplugs muffle everything, or just the tinnitus effect? If it just removes the tinnitus effect I will exuberant as I can just wear them all the time. If it muffles everything, then darn.

Also, I have like 20 pages to catch up on in this thread, but how is the latest ACE build working with the new official beta patch?

Wow, and it kills the Tinnitus effect? Cool! Can I ask (how can I hatch those things in pre-existing games (after I've modded my name properly in the cfg file)? I'm running a scan right now and can't load up the game (have to wait another stinkin' hour)

Found a gear bug.

If you pick a rucksack and put stuff in it then place it in a car.

THEN go pick up a new (DIFFERENT) rucksack and see what happens.

You get alot of SAME stuff without the need of picking it from

crates...It get copied from first ruck..

First i thought it was a missionproblem BE.WF059 but it happens

in editor aswell.

Yeah unfortunately the whole ruck system seems to be a total mess, and only really works if you pick up a ruck once, never drop it and never die :(

Wow I've never noticed this, I'll have to check it out. I wonder if it's happened before. I've done this before, albeit a while back, but never remember this happening. Sometimes I will get the contents displayed twice in the ruck section of the gear menu but it goes away quickly and doesn't effect total weight. Good spot though, now we just need a bug ticket at DH.

Load it up

Dump the molle

Grab some AT

Now you are a pack mule with a radio!

In defense of tcp, current ruck system guy - the abilility for gear to remain across rucks was intentional. Otherwise, if temporarily stowed your ruck during some action like getting a launcher you'd lose everything in that ruck.

Certainly some further checks to clear the contents list if you close the gear menu and a volume check if you swap packs would help. Calling the system a total mess is bit much though.

Please read the manual. There is no duplication. Rucks cannot be considered unique by the game engine. Ruck contents can only be stored in two locations in script, the player object and the addAction created by the Drop Ruck button. There is no other way to drop a ruck, putting it in a car does nothing, you will just not have access to it until you pick up another ruck (any ruck).

When you pick up a ruck with too low of a capacity to carry all the contents still tied to your player. You will have to drop some of them until you are within capacity or suffer a heavy weight penalty.

I shouldn't have to explain this because if you had problems, you should have first turned to the documentation. If you had a legitimate concern, you would not post on this thread, but would have made a ticket on the issue tracker. The ruck system will stay exactly as shitty as it currently is unless you create detailed bug reports and give me a valid path for troubleshooting. Sorry, but as far as I can tell, everything I do with rucks works perfectly.

EE, I don't know what you mean by clear the contents list, but a volume check when you swap packs is already in place.

What I meant in the clear list is...

When the close action for the gear display is invoked, check for a ruck and if the player no longer has one then clear the ruck mags and weapons lists. It'd need some extra checking for the dump-ruck scenario though.

So if i need MORE gear with me i pack gear in Car and have the car acting

like a crate..

If i need to walk a distance i pack ruck with gear from the car...

Will it ever be possible or is there a way to fix this..

I think i read on OA info that rucks will be fixed.

It would be nice to have a "Assauly Ruck" with nades, smokes, ammo and other "assault" gear. And a

"Medic Ruck" with tons of medsupplys and maybe a "Misc Ruck" with stuff you might need.

Using a vehicle as a rolling depot is the way to go. Even a quad can carry a surprising amount of goodies for an AT team.

Preloaded rucks are not really possible - you can give a soldier a ruck and then load stuff into that ruck, nothing more.

Then comes the question of what the load-outs should be. I can promise that my little clan of specops players would pick a vastly different set of items compared to most folks on a Domination mission. So IMAO, ACE should not be in the business of deciding that kind of detail. Either the mission maker or player should be doing that.

What I would like instead is a new config file. It would contain just a couple of things.

1. My player name and face type, moved away from the often-changing clientside config.

2. Weapons and mags that are my stock load-out.

3. Optional list of gear currently in the ruck.

If you want to be slightly more sophisticated, make items 2+3 repeatable to support multiple configs. Then you can have your medic package, assault package, etc. Add a action to "Select loadout #1" and there you are.
