Huh? Most people can't tell developers from publishers, so I bet they won't know who the hell clive lindop is.

Sadly according to Maruk Mr. Lindop didn't join Codemasters till 2005...

@BIS

What about to suggest Eurogamer to make a little note that the original quaote form clive isn't true, with a short statement of you.

I hear he's the guy who invented the equivalent of AIDS.

Quite possibly, he is also responsible for creating cancer xmas_o.gif

biggrin_o.gif Thank you for that, it gave me a pretty good laugh.

most people forget the name of developers they see saying stuff in vids anyway. what is remembered is the gameplay footage. I already forgot the names of the guys from the Ego video already. All I remember is the never before seen scale. Which was never seen.

The only devs I do recall is Steve from Battlefront and some of the bi crew.

Oh and Frank Klepacki.

Pulverizer, you seem to suffer from a similar problem to Clive.

That's pretty dodgy that he did that, to say the least. (I edited my post because it was meant to be before Ohara's.)

Just to make it clear:

Also, I remember him being in a video where he said he modded/scripted for OFP1, but he certainly didn't work on it!

I sure hope those ridiculous lies at least got him a job at some point.  Maybe that lie is the cornerstone of his career. How pathetic.

lol are you guys serious.. He said he was in a group/clan who made mods for OFP not worked on the game as a dev...

So I can't believe this is what it has come down to now. Personal attacks on the devs... Come on now guys.. play nice..

Anyway I just came by to give some info on a new preview of the game from Eurogamer, they seems to like it. Game is looking good so far.

All it probably does is sell that much more copies to some gullible people.

Hi all

A few pages back I posted about Idealists and Realists.

I pointed out that there is a form of "Realist" who takes advantage of what they see as an advantage of knowledge.

I pointed to some types of employment that people who misuse their "realistic" knowledge of the world seek.

As well as pointing out that such people's actions were inherently evil I also pointed out that they were not just stupid but really stupid.

Such people cannot figure that out.

Kind Regards walker

Errr what? He says that he made some independant projects (ie missions, addons, mods...) for OFP CWC? If that's a crime I guess BIS could make a fortune by sueing all its fans.

I think the bit Ohara meant was about the Tree generating software, Linda?

That "veteran of the original Flashpoint team" thing in the Eurogamer article is probably just a misunderstanding by the writer Dan Whitehead, not a lie by Clive.

... Walker, you need to shut up about that crazy shit. You're killing me man biggrin_o.gif

That eurogamer article makes some disapointing revelations.

You are in charge of a 4 man fireteam (not a squad), in the original OPF you could control up to 11 guys.

Vehicle simulation is simplistic, i thought they were going to have an edge over Arma 2 by having less content but better vehicle simulation, guess not..

Is it true that there are no civilians or wildlife?

No, I don't know it. How the hell would I exactly? Video game articles often have little factual errors like this. The people writing this stuff are not professional journalist, or at least don't put their random scriblings under too much scrutiny.

But yeah, they'll probably correct the error if someone just cared enough about it to point it out to them. Even though it probably has absolutely no effect in the history of anything ever. Other than the effect of creating some delicious forum drama of course wow_o.gif

Pulverizer, the matter was taken to Dan at Eurogamer and the community manager at CM. Dan says he did not misquote. Furthermore, it's on Clive's CV.

Yeah yeah whatever. I don't quite care that much. If only Ohara had made some sense, instead of going "that thing thear is a lie and ima sue him in england" and then quoted like seven kilometers of incomprehensible misformatted text. That kind of stuff could get him sued if I'm not mistaken.

I think every addon, mission and modmaker writes it clearly (at least in the Readme) that he is making an addon, mission or a mod for Operation Flashpoint and not that he is working on a "independent project named Operation Flashpoint: CWC"! Come on, Pulverizer! confused_o.gif

And if you sum up this and for example his statements like "what we made in the original game..." (I think it was in one of those "clone-presentations" in the last year, sorry, no source), you can notice that he pretty much wants all to believe he was a part of the OFP1 team... Which is pretty miserable, isn't it?

If this is true and not a mistake -> ........ no, I won't say the bad word wink_o.gif but... Shame on you all involved!! crazy_o.gif

Well this is pretty shocking  confused_o.gif

I was going to comment on the OFP2 forum about it but people would probably think I'm a troll.

Sad to see their marketing spread such garbage. I hope claiming to be part of the original OFP team isn't what convinced Codemasters to hire the guy, because that would get him in deep trouble and would probably do some damage to OFP2...

I can't find that info on Clives profile on LinkedIn anymore, maybe he removed it after hearing from BIS.
