Zipper5 74 Posted October 28, 2009 As you may or may not have noticed, the v1.04 final patch is several times larger than any of the beta patches. That's because it includes other, more space-filling fixes. Therefore, I have a feeling v1.05 will include more of these, but they don't have enough fixes that are small enough to justify putting them in to a smaller beta patch. I wouldn't be surprised if the next patch we see is v1.05, rather than a v1.04 beta.
abel 0 Posted October 28, 2009 you know, BIS doing great things, but mentioned "things" always have a lot of bugs) looks like new beta had serious problems, which were missed by QA team (but sometimes i'm not sure, that there exists this one=))
Yapab 10 Posted October 28, 2009 Seems there has been quite a bit of work on the game/engine since the last beta.... as the teaser beta release last night was 59833 vs the latest beta of 59323!
Alex72 1 Posted October 28, 2009 hopefully they arent relaxing since OFPR is not really a competitor to ARMA2 for PC gamers. Dont say that all the damn time. OFP2 is GREAT! Im thinking of LEAVING ARMA2 cause of it. Damn its realistic! ARMA2 feels like super mario compared! I dont think i'll come back unless some beta is released. See ya! :D
otrebla_snake_ita 2 Posted October 28, 2009 I've read OFP2 is crap compared to ArmA 2 =D
Alex72 1 Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) I just said: Dont keep saying that! You want BIS to slack off? Im joking ofcourse. But at the same time im sad OFP2 came out as shitty as i thaught. Think OA was announced because of BIS wanting to stay on top. Now they are on top already. Now maybe OA will get less attention that it would if OFP2 was a hit. Who knows. I sure hope BIS keeps the game plan they had with ARMA2 and OA before that shait was released because we still want our beloved game to be uber super duper. Alex72 1 Posted October 28, 2009 Yeah sorry about that. OnTopic: Did anyone get better performance with 59323 or was it laggier for all? So far i see most people play 59210 like myself.
InFireBaptize 0 Posted October 28, 2009 i'm not anxiously waiting for the patch, i know it would come when it's ready, don't rush them. I'm guessing big improvements since it took them longer this time, please God.

Hopefully there will be onother one soon.

kuIoodporny 45 Posted October 28, 2009 Teaser with buildnumber. Yup it seems there are going to be many changes. Or something got screwed hard and BI has trouble creating stable patch :P
kklownboy 43 Posted October 28, 2009 or it was for the chosen beta testers and not for us mere mortals.....
Alex72 1 Posted October 28, 2009 You are being sarcastic aren't you. Ofcourse. However lets leave that now or SniperWolf will snipe our heads off. You know he's sneaking using the threads as cover. Hard to see him! ;) Will be very nice to check the upcoming beta. Hopefully that build that was up last night (according to some of you) means its soon upon us.
cole 0 Posted October 28, 2009 I hope they've fixed atleast some of the model bugs too :/ and netcode!

Hard to see him! ;) Damn forum mods..sure know how to ruin a good time don't they.. bet they don't get invited to many parties...:p Don't imagine anyone got a chance to peek at the change log for the new patch before it was pulled eh? Primary areas I would like to see improved are performance and AI. :)

CarlGustaffa 4 Posted October 29, 2009 (edited) My editor seems to be fixed with 59323. Thanks BIS. Only a tiny hickup. When hovering over arma2 editor (windowed mode) using nview autofocus (but not auto bring to front), I seem to leave behind a mouseclick. Moving mouse will create the rectangle drag, without me ever having pressed a mouse button. But again, it doesn't cause any real problems. I have been running around a little now, and I think I'm no longer getting those extreme slowdowns on certain trees. However, that problem I have found hard to find when I'm actually looking for it. Will need to do some actual gaming time. I'm having no problems with water. Looking at it I usually get a significant increase in frames, compared to walking around in a forest (normal textures). I've accidentally been running 59210 until now. Somehow I think I'm blind to black and white text on green background, and anything text that contains the words "previous versions" :D Game still won't end properly if I have used the editor. Has to be shut down via task manager. Edited October 29, 2009 by CarlGustaffa
Alex72 1 Posted October 29, 2009 I just noticed the performance was horrible over water and didnt take it much further. Will give the latest a last chance and skip being over water for now. Im guessing another patch (beta or otherwise) is on the way so. Not much harm.
abel 0 Posted October 30, 2009 so, dear BIS, what's going on?
SASrecon 0 Posted October 30, 2009 so, dear BIS, what's going on? Lots of people (such as http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=89278 and most of the other people posting on this thread :p) are becoming impatient, in this thread Rellikki mentions news, could any mod/dev give us some info on the .59883 build teaser the other day? Rellikki also mentions "once the time is right" could this mean they're working on a patch till CM release one and then BIS will strike them down with theirs?!? tbh i didn't have any issues with the latest build over .210, i'm running the game very smoothly but i'd also be interested to find out what caused that small performance drop over water from 210>323 because all we got in the changelog was this: [59318] Fixed: support the highest Matrox TrippleHead2Go resolutions [59279] Fixed: FPS on Dedicated server is not affected by server window manipulation (such as move or scroll). But then again Rellikki also says "Constantly asking for them won't help." so i guess i should stop vergeing btw. on&off-topic
abel 0 Posted October 30, 2009 i would like BIS to be closer to ARMA community. developers blog exists, but messages appear their very very rarely. is that too hard to find 10 minutes once a day/week to write "we are doing bla-bla-bla, you may expect it bla-bla-bla, so everything is ok"?
