Any word of how big the Takistan map is going to be?

eeh. I think one map is about 160sq km and the other 70sq km... I think.

Hm, that's kinda disappointing.

To put that in perspetive for you all, that is a slightly smaller than the city of Washington, D.C. (177km) which is not a very large city to begin with in terms of square milage. South Zagoria, Chernarus (around 200km) was bigger than Washington, D.C. and is thus bigger than the map(s) in Operation Arrowhead.

Not many people utilise the entire map of South Zagoria, Chernarus so the slightly smaller map won't matter much, except in the fact that it will most likely bring faster loading times and smoother gameplay in terms of frames per second, etc.

Slightly OFF-TOPIC, but isnt South Zagoria even bigger than Azeroth?

Azeroth is roughly three quarters the size of South Zagoria, so South Zagoria is about one quarter bigger than Azeroth.

Smaller size but more detail in the areas would be great. Its very true for myself that all of Cherna isnt used often. Many places far far away from any roads in the (behind) forests out in the edges that isnt used very often. Ofcourse some remote areas are needed for nice gameplay (arty, bad guys hideouts etc), but the 160km2 i think will give us that.

PS. BIS dont forget to lower the safety range for artys in OA! :D

Guys, can we keep the general chatter to the other OA thread? :)

It would be nice if we could reserve this one for actual press coverage, screenshots, videos and such.

PC Powerplay - April 2010

Australian PC game magazine.

This is an article that about Mil-sims. Mentions OFP, Arma, Arma 2, VBS2...etc

http://www.flickr.com/photos/27595678@N06/sets/72157623755695179/detail/

I didn't do the scans. I fixed up the quality to make them more readable.

Click the "All sizes" buttom above each image to see the full size image.

This is the Press Coverage thread, not the OA thread. Don't forget about that.

jblackrupert: Thanks for the heads up, cool looking article you've posted there.

The clue should be in "Press Coverage" if there's no Press Coverage to discuss, guess what, you don't need discuss for the sake of it, that's OT to this thread and may lead to warnings/infractions, there's another thread for everyone's thrilling insights into what should or shouldn't be in OA :)
