dslyecxi 23 Posted September 27, 2008 The screens are cool, but as the "ArmA Combat Photography" thread has shown, cool screens don't necessarily translate into gameplay. I'll celebrate once that sort of behavior is shown to work in motion - ie, a video of soldiers moving to the side of a tank, taking cover, then darting across a street (or similar). Until then, I think a grain of salt is warranted.

xnodunitx 0 Posted September 27, 2008 I like the dark tones, the fact that the contrast is realistic and everything is not "OMFG SHINY" cept the windows, looks good so far, nice to the see the T-90 again, looks like she's seen some weathering. Though I am curious about the ammo case, it seems to be normal mapped but it is in the shadows, same with the bolts and other details..normal maps in shade for more graphic realism or default texture...interested to see. jakerod 254 Posted September 27, 2008 ArmA II: Behind Enemy Lines Just something I noticed. It looks amazing though. I hope that is how the AI really reacts.

Shadow NX 1 Posted September 29, 2008 Yeah was also happy to see they aven though of such lil eastereggs like a Behind enemy lines unit so there are lots of possible scenarios. And if the Ai really reacts the way the screens indicate then i surely need a new pant when playing this game.
sparks50 0 Posted September 29, 2008 The new screens are worthless as they only show static animations stacked in a cinematic order. They are cool though, but that could be said about 80% of the screens in the image thread. Arma2: Behind enemy lines: GTAIV: COD4(warning graphic)

Arma2: is the AI being setanim or working acturally like that?(using tank as cover, shooting over fence instead of trying to go around them) Yes, that is micro AI in action then The screens are cool, but as the "ArmA Combat Photography" thread has shown, cool screens don't necessarily translate into gameplay.I'll celebrate once that sort of behavior is shown to work in motion - ie, a video of soldiers moving to the side of a tank, taking cover, then darting across a street (or similar). sparks50 0 Posted September 29, 2008 Well it is very cool if those actually are AI in action

stakex 0 Posted September 29, 2008 I belive it is, Bi never photoshop screenshots  Theres a big diffrence between photoshoping a screenshot, and spending time to make a good looking screenshot with in game animations, that will not be replicated in normal gameplay. Hopefully thats not what these are... but untill we see a good video of the Micro AI in action, it will be impossible to tell.

From the videos we have seen with AI using cover to the buildings also using hand singnals it could well be genual AI.. but we wont no untill a proper video trailer i guess. lol. Shadow NX 1 Posted October 1, 2008 Hopefully its just a placeholder because if they do that wrong again then that "mistake" can only be Intentional. Â

dslyecxi 23 Posted October 4, 2008 Hopefully its just a placeholder because if they do that wrong again then that "mistake" can only be Intentional. Â In the grand scope of things, the difference between a DShk and a NSVT in ArmA is almost nil, aside from a visual difference. For them to not change it would simply mean that they recognize that and felt like putting their efforts to something more productive and gameplay-influencing. Right if we arm the US soldiers with M16s and give them steel helmets it would also be ok because its only a visual difference. Seriously if they add a few dozen realistic vehicles, real uniforms and so on then a NSVT should be a biggy. However im pretty sure the DshK is just a placeholder... Commando84 0 Posted October 4, 2008 C'mon its just a machinegun on a tank  don't fret guys. Its pretty static really compared say a gun you hold in your hands, a tank Mg doesn't have the same kind of wobleness or knock back when its fired compared to say a hand held Pk machinegun that isn't attached to a big metal thing
