wolfsblut_ 0 Posted December 5, 2007 FDF Sound Pack 1.3 released 3.12.2007... * 1.3 - New footstep sounds to all surfaces ... I didnt know the FDF-version before v1.3 but IMO the footstep-sounds and the running-noise in this version are very very superb. And so ... God bless FDF :)
muju 0 Posted December 5, 2007 Nice work Göeth... as always. Now ArmA is much more fun to play.
sandzibar 0 Posted December 5, 2007 some of this pack is made of serious win. jet noise is much better. no more stealthy A10's walking / kit jingle. very cool. big thumbs up.
froggyluv 2136 Posted December 5, 2007 Never really gave FDF a chance as i was too digging on another sound mod but this one is tight. As stated, player movement  sound actually had me thinking I was playing a new game and vehicle sounds are top-notch. Haven't tried all the guns yet but so far they sound 'meaty'
Jack-UK 0 Posted December 5, 2007 I like everything about the new FDF Soundpack.. except the sonic crack, ive never fired a real gun in my life, but from videos, and other soundpacks i've heard, i personally prefer 1.2 sonic crack Too much treble on it for my ears =( But everything else is top notch as always! Keep it up!
-Puma- 2 Posted December 6, 2007 i would use these, but i like ffamm too much
kroky 1 Posted December 6, 2007 it's true that FFAMM has some better gun sounds. (And I borrowed the supersonic cracks and the shouting when hit from there to use it with FDF_Sounds 1.3 and the M249 sound from ModWar, he he) FFAMM has one big letdown: Not good sounds for vehicles and the movement sounds in FDF Sounds ist definitevely the best out there atm. Also they have made the best environment sounds for ArmA imho. Some suggestions to make the FDF Sounds even better: - change AK74, AKS sounds - change M249 sounds - change supersonic cracks to be less audible when near and  more of a pop-crack sound when far away - change and add variety to the shouts when hit and being    healed - add a breathing sound to soldier even when he's not moving  (of course very low level) - add heartbeat sound when soldier is running or under fire  (here of course low level too) if it's to much hearable it will  be annoying. - reduce the fly sounds to dead bodies and start the sound  much later. (right now the flies are coming just a second  after the soldier dies...)
Goeth 0 Posted December 6, 2007 Good suggestions here folks. Remeber that this is not final version, i´ll definetly improve things in upcoming versions.
xr6turbo 0 Posted December 6, 2007 awesome quality , nice work FDF
LoFFeN 0 Posted December 6, 2007 Nice as always. Â I hope the AH-1Z gets a new rotor sound though. The current one is too treble'ed. It needs a bit more of swoosh "muffled sound". Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv47azqkJiI

The FFAMM1.3 is bad vehicle sounds, But i'm sure, I will fix the problem. FFAMM1.4 will come after my China Special Force, With a lot of improvement. eg the tracers will be created all by myself. Good work FDF teams, I love your works best! Thank you!

Victor_S. 0 Posted December 8, 2007 The B-1 is pretty loud, but i think the f-22 might be louder....on second thought idk.
layne_suhr 0 Posted December 8, 2007 I think your SU-34 needs more grunt! Needs to sound more like a fighter not a 737 Same with the Harrier too
Goeth 0 Posted December 9, 2007 I think your SU-34 needs more grunt! Needs to sound more like a fighter not a 737  You´re right it needs some boost i admit.

-Variable- 0 Posted December 18, 2007 Goeth and all the rest in the FDF mod team- Thanks a lot you have done it once again! Get real and don´t compare your hollywood knowledge or YouTube recordings to the sound you actaully hear on the scene. It takes quite some hardware to accurately record sounds irl and an inbuilt condenser mic in a videocam doesn´t do this right, period. That's right. supersonic crackers in real life do resemble more the sound used on version 1.3. However, most of us judge the reality based on TV news broadcasts from war zones (I don't remember hearing supersonic crackers on Hollywood movies). Therefore, ironicaly, many more players will feel that the 1.2 version's supersonic crackers are a lot better than the new ones. So I will vote for reverting back to them. To my ears The M4 sound in version 1.3 is VERY realistic and actually is the closest to the real life sound that I have ever heard in ANY computer game. Thanks again! lee_h._oswald 0 Posted December 18, 2007 My "problem" with the supersonic crack sound is, I allways have the feeling someone is firing a silenced weapon nearby. Maybe it's real, but it just don't feel right. Thanks. MfG Lee
cross 1 Posted December 18, 2007 It is realistic -if it makes your skin crawl -if you feel the urge to lie down or to get behind a cover -if you are stunned when someone nearby shoots or you hear the cracks. I most certainly do and I love the uneasiness it is giving me
andersson 285 Posted December 18, 2007 From my limited experience of having bullets flying past me it sounds real.
kroky 1 Posted December 19, 2007 A little bug is that you even hear the flies around corpses when they're lying under water. And the fly sound should have a wait period and not start instantounesly
mr_centipede 31 Posted December 19, 2007 i remove the fly sound from the config.. so annoying. other than that, all top notch. beginning to getting used to the supersonic crack
Pain-less 0 Posted December 19, 2007 Quick question. Do I have to remove or disable Chammy's sound mod before installing this one?
