benreeper 0 Posted June 22, 2005 Happy Birthday. BIS made the game I always wanted to play. --Bes PS: I think addons willl convert so easily because BIS's original implementation was so well thought out and flexible.
sanctuary 19 Posted June 22, 2005 As a BIS and OFP fan , i appreciate to read such letter. It is always interesting for me to know what is going on with BIS projects. I wish OFP XBOX will have a great success, it should drag more people into the BIS world , people potentially interested by simulations that could have been not aware of what is OFP and how great it is. Oh, and ArmA sounds better than the "AA", "ArA", "ArAs" i read here and there, at least we have the official shortcut Thank you for letting us know a bit more about your projects and works. Happy birthday OFP (not OPF )

GoOB 0 Posted June 22, 2005 Thanks BIS! I really have to agree with what has been said in previous posts. Very few game developers appreciate the community as much as you have done, and continue to do. It's really quite a feeling to actually get such positive response from the makers of the game. And I can imagine the extremely talented addon makers and modmakers in our community feel the same way. Looking forward to new releases, and atleast another four years of Operation Flashpoint/ARMAS/<insert new game title here>. Oh, and thanks again
JdB 151 Posted June 23, 2005 Well, ''Armed Assault'' and "ArmA" are still worktitles. Also I liked unofficial "ArAs" better. "ArmA"......now taking bets for when BIS will get sued for using a name very similar (maybe even registered by) to the Armalite arms company Happy birthday OFP.....4 years is it?.....damn I'm getting old
Aeronautico 0 Posted June 23, 2005 ArmA is spot on: it means weapon in Italian! Â Oh, and happy 4th B-day OFP! Â It's been four years... geez! Still remember the demo days, how astonished I was feeling for the realism extraordinaire... (yeah, never posted before but always been around).
[aps]gnat 28 Posted June 23, 2005 Yeh .... Happy Birthday OFP ......... and thanks BIS, for the very long lasting Birthday pres'ys I just wish I'd found it before early 2003 then I could say I enjoyed it even longer. (I'd still love to know if ArmA has *bigger* open spaces than OFP, guess we'll have to wait)

crassus 0 Posted June 23, 2005 The fact that BIS has kept the addon database code easily covnveratble to make it compatable is just about the nicest thing they could have done for the community. Yes! Yes! YES! And of course, Happy Birthday

Scrub 0 Posted June 23, 2005 Happy B-day OFP I can't wait to see if this easy porting allows larger vehicles!!! At first I didn't like ArmA, but it's got that 'alternate-relative meaning' mystique about it I think it'll grow on us
