Sweet_pup 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Quote[/b] ]A little offtopic perhaps but I just thought I'd recommend this great book I just bought :Chariots of the Damned-Helicopter Special Operations from Vietnam to Kosovo By Mike Ryan and Major Mike McKinney ] Â Have any of you BAS guys heard of it or read it? If so I very strongly reccommend it you won't regret it. As much as I would like to agree with you, cause that is a pretty good book, there is one I like a lot more. Yea that's right, Michael Durant's story. If you need to know about the 160th SOAR, this is where to begin and end... Sweet_pup
Eviscerator 0 Posted August 7, 2003 oxygen masks (That would be my guess) Its a face mask used to allow communications to still work while at high speed, in wind, with the doors off or with the gunner sticking his head out of the window, no oxygen capability. Cloney 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Why do you guys think about the release dates so much? It's a bit too much like masturbation without the pay off.Oh and, JAM rocks. You guys will love it. Cloney: I am not sure if I was one person you were referring to, but actually I don't think about addons that much, sure I check the OPF news everyday but that is while I am taking a break from my other duties, most importantly college and waiting to receive my officers commission in the US Marine Corps(if I don't injure myself again). Plus a whole host of other stuff. If it was not directed at me, sorry, I am not upset, just clearing something up. Sorry Forum Mods for not taking it to PM. PS I know I'll love JAM, especially since so many good people and groups are collaborating on it. Yeah, I do see it as one of the most important developments in the Flashpoint community, can't wait for it, will probably integrate it into Inquisitors HD Weps Pack for the people that like that addon. George It wasn't meant as a direct personal attack towards anyone, I'm just saying no matter how much you ask about the release date you're never going to find out because BAS doesn't release them. Perhaps they'll release some BAS-Viagra to sustain us. I'll stop talking in Masturbation metaphor now.

Ofcourse, why didn't I think of that? Man, that really does make alot of sense. Even my microphone cuts out half the time when I'm in a closed cockpit. Thanks Evis, you just made my morning complete.... not in a sexual... mas.... uhhh... cloney.....I gotta go.... Sweet_pup

Chariots of the Damned is about many operations. <Please remove the image tags when quoting a post with images>

If so I very strongly reccommend it you won't regret it. Beautiful action paintings and very detailed accounts of the Koh Tang island Marine led USAF HH-53 landings in 1975, the disaster that was Desert One to the rescue of Scott O'Grady behind enemy lines in Bosnia in 1995. I own both books, and both are great reads, and very informative, tho I must say that the British cover (could just be a newer edition) looks a lot cooler/meaner  <Please remove the image tags when quoting a post with images>

EMAN 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Tigershark, Thanks for the update on BAS upcoming projects. So does that mean the OPFOR and Desert Pack are on hold, they looked nearly complete. Thanks
Placebo 29 Posted August 7, 2003 As interesting as a book group is this thread is not here for that, there's an old book discussion thread in OT, if you can find it you have my blessing to resurrect it Edit: Found it.

lee_h._oswald 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Is OFP 1.91 a "must" for the Blackhawks? If yes, I hope BIS is working hard on a new Linux dedicated Server. It´s so sad that I can´t use the MH47 in my CTI map. It will be terrible if I can´t use the blackhawks too. MfG Lee
Landwarrior87 0 Posted August 7, 2003 "very very VERY Close" yo.. im almost done with my missions.. got eh enemies layed down.. now im assigning waypoints to my rangers.. and i realized that i want them to fastrope.. does the Blackhawk have to be apart of your group to fast rope out of.. cuz if it has to be ive got to get rid of 2 members.. that means one less machine gun and AT Guy. thats all i need then my mission is very very very close... oh and i was thinking if the rangers are released too have the gun names changed?? cuz if so ill have to replace all the rangers guns and things.. i hope the rangers ell just overwrite the old to work with existing missions or no? ebud 18 Posted August 7, 2003 The OPFOR have a looong way to go. After the current releases go out the door the island will be a priority over them as the OPFOR need a home. There are no other islands out that can come close to being a natural environment for those troops. So I would not expect them any time within the next 2-3 months just to be safe. Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted August 7, 2003 is it 2-3 months or 4-6 months; double post, dude But good to hear you're working on it. I look forward to that nice island.

AngusHeaf 0 Posted August 7, 2003 Ya know, I never post here and only sometimes bother to read this thread.... So I thought to myself, "self, maybe you should post something in that thread. Sure it has 40 pages but what's 40 pages if not a single one is graced with your presence." To which I responded, "ya know, you're very right and I'm going to go post something." So here I am. Hello to you all, you weirdo chronic masturbators. Stop posting so much in these threads and go play more OFP, or build stuff for OFP. That goes for you BAS guys too! Bunch of Chatty Cathys. Cut your string! Â Hehe. ;) // the following respresents the views of BAS as a whole // // Ok just kidding, they don't //
