Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Quote[/b] ]Also, If I remember rightly, we had a big ass discussion about it. The deserts in OFP are where the uniforms have to work, and that slanted the final colour too.I agree with this. But remember that you must do the same with the vehicles in this case
m1k3_ 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Oh man this is stupid, but i found a spelling mistake one the MH-53J Pavelow III part of the Bas site Quote[/b] ]Door guns; GAU-2 (7.62mm Minigun) or GAU-15 (0.50 calibre Aircraft Machine Gun). GAU-16 (Machine Gun): 0.50 Calibre Aircraft Machine Gun, based on the browning M2 HB 0.50 calibre weapon. The GAU-15A is recoil operated, belt fed, air cooled, percussion fired weapon, with a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute. The gun system consists of the GAU-15/A (XM-218) cal. 50 machine gun, a pintle mount assembly, brass collection bag, and ammunition can bracket assembly. The pintle mount assembly is attached at personnel or cargo doors or windows of the aircraft. The ammunition can bracket holds a single 100 round can of linked cal. 50 percussion primed ammunition. Additional cans of ammunition are carried inside the aircraft to allow for rapid reloading. heh. Also on the ranger/delta update, will the KLR 250 be update? there pretty much perfect except the sound is quite a bit off. lol its not a big thing, but it thought i would ask. Keep up the great work! and take your time! Â
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Also, If I remember rightly, we had a big ass discussion about it. The deserts in OFP are where the uniforms have to work, and that slanted the final colour too. So what about Nagual's island then?

So what about Nagual's island then? Â It probably uses Nogova's desert texture...
Eviscerator 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Nope, has all new textures i believe.
Shashman 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Something I'd like to add is that at the end of the day, when people make desert themed missions, they will more likely use a desert island like Desert Everon 2 or that Afghanistan one or the Mogadishu map over Nogova or any of the BIS islands just because there is so little desert on Nogova. I reckon the island with the best desert feel is Desert Everon 2 (Your vehicles are perfect for this island from what I've seen in the screens you've posted. The shade of "yellow" is just right, not too bright like your units, which I think could only really fit in well on Desert Malden which uses standard BIS desert textures,i.e too pale imo)
Chomps 0 Posted July 30, 2003 I saw some pictures of the updated Delta/Ranger pack in the Combat Photography thread... beautiful. Would it be possible to use whatever method you are using to randomize/customize the packs on the Desert vehicles to allow for different pouches and bags attached to each soldier? Just a thought, don't know if it's do-able or even worthwhile.
Guest jacobaby Posted July 30, 2003 I haven't told anybody else at BAS this yet, but I have a plan to make ALL islands into a desert. With the inclusion of just ONE of my carefully scripted addon, any island will have the desired effect. Desert Making Addon... NB: For those of you that prefer winter missions, you will be able to set it to make winter islands too. Nuclear winter that is......... TJ

Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted July 30, 2003 on topic; haven't said this yet; thanks to the new pictures I can see the bonnet in detail. It's great to see that you changed the bonnet-grill to the A1 version! With the weels now being placed in the correct position (thanks to TJ and Deadmeat), this HMMWV is becomming the best weeled vehicle addon I've seen right now. blackdog~ 0 Posted July 30, 2003 where did the snorkel and exhaust go by teh way?
dm 9 Posted July 30, 2003 where did the snorkel and exhaust go by teh way? They're still there... they're just invisible /me hints at hidden selections... The Army very very very rarely use the snorkel/exhaust, but it is almost allways sported on USMC variants... make of that what you will
Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted July 30, 2003 I think I can answer this one a bit; Only the USMC HMMWV's have the extended exhaust pipe and air intake. However for making the Army versions BAS seems to have decided to remove tham all together. I hope they're still working on it (and don't made these army versions by removing the extended things by hidden selections). The missing air intake can be "seen" in this picture; Also a little question; In one of the early pictures, the Vulcan had a pack on the side that was in 6 colour desert. I hope you change this to 3-colour desert. It's a little detail, but it is the little details that make the difference. [EDIT] he beat me to it. But the army version does have an air intake and exhaust pipe. Just not the extended ones. [/EDIT]
blackdog~ 0 Posted July 30, 2003 I know thats why they removed them, but I was just worried that they wouldn't be there to use with Suchey's MARPAT's
