Eviscerator 0 Posted July 30, 2003 http://www.dragon-horde.com/CH53D-hummer.jpg Eeesh, look at all the smoke! What do you run that thing on? Diesel?
302_Dragon 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Yep...JP-5 Almost every aircraft in the US fleet runs off of JP-4, JP-5, or JP-8. All are diesel fuels. Â Hell all H-60 models run off of JP-5...they just don't put out as much engine tourqe as the CH53 so the engine exhaust isn't going to be as harsh as the CH53. That trail of smoke is the reason they call the CH53 a shitter. It shits all over the O-zone.

Sgt. Drake Savage 0 Posted July 30, 2003 It looks like the whole front of the humvees need to be a little bit longer, which would also solve the problem of the hood (not bonnet u crazy Europeans ) being too steep. I know you based it off of BIS' humvee but like a lot of there other models the dimensions arent that accurate. There is one other issue Id like to point out: the desert textures on your delta/rangers and the textures of Maarfy's vehicles are both great in there own respect, but the problem is they dont match together that good. From what Ive seen the desert fatigues are the about same shade as the paint on the vehicles. Compare these two pics to see what I mean: BAS' Textures Real Life
Landwarrior87 0 Posted July 30, 2003 hes got a point!!!
Tigershark_BAS 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Not only does he have a good point but he provided fairly indiputable evidence to demonstrate his point. Excellent post Savage. We will discuss this internally amongst the team members.

Thank you. oh, and bonnet or hood; who gives a shit. You know what it means right ? When I say "hood" everyone from the UK things I'm talking about that silly guy with the bow  BAS; The textures on the vehicles are correct, but the desert textures on the units are too white (so don't go messing around with the MArfy textures please). Sgt Drake Savage is wrong about the bonnet (I'll just keep writing bonnet, ok?). It shouldn't be longer. The HMMWV looks like a wierd vehicle because it is a wierd vehicle! Guest jacobaby Posted July 30, 2003 Bear in mind regarding the colours that the lighting (temperature of it) has a big effect on the outcome of a picture. Two things that appear absolutely identical in colour in natural daylight may appear to be totally different under incandescent or flourescent lighting, or even at dawn/twilight. Different surfaces absorb the varying wavelengths of light differently. Its a whole subject on its own, as you photographers will appeciate. What I am saying is that two pictures cannot be given as proof of a colour. Add to that the effect, (which was included) in the Desert uniforms we did, that uniforms are washed and hence they fade. I'm not trying to justify anything, but just pointing out that there is more to it than "the colours should be the same". TJ
dm 9 Posted July 30, 2003 I'd also like to point out that the BIS (and therefore our model) are the exact dimensions of a real life hummer, so I won't be extending it in any way, shape or form...
Shashman 0 Posted July 30, 2003 Well I dunno...I'm no photographer and don't know much about photography, but I think I can tell the difference between the colour of your units and the colour of your vehicles and the units are clearly brighter and more faded. In fact your units are so bright that they could even be used for winter island missions. Don't get me wrong or anything, I'm not trying to put down your excellent units, but I simply believe that they are a tad bit too white and bright
Guest jacobaby Posted July 30, 2003 Here's a link to another cool Blackhawk Pic. This time picking up some Brits, Royal Engineers or something.. http://www.operations.mod.uk/veritas....awk.jpg Please dont forget about the colours that we did actually have, like expert opinions on them. Here's a pic that shows the difference with flash lighting.. http://www.practicaltactical.net/html/blackhawk_assault_vests.html Also, If I remember rightly, we had a big ass discussion about it. The deserts in OFP are where the uniforms have to work, and that slanted the final colour too. TJ
