What is Iron Front

---

It is a tactical shooter video game set in World War II Eastern Front built by AWAR - a group of former OFP and Arma modders.

It was released mid last year as a standalone game using the Real Virtuality 3 engine also powering Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

The highlights:

• Four outstanding terrains of different size
  
• A large variety of very high quality and historically accurate units, weapons and vehicles
  
• A German and Russian singleplayer campaign across eight missions in an authentic setting
  
• Advanced gameplay features like the high level tank simulation, gun towing and artillery system or the realistic mine system
  
• Great gameplay with its low tech world war 2 setting

Thanks to kju developing the conversion process with mikero's tools and Sickboy/DeadTomGC to provide an easy interface,

this project allows you to get the great content into Arma 3. In addition it allows to:

• Mod Iron Front
  
• Extend with your own addons
  
• Combine it with community made mods
  
• Play in the most recent Real Virtuality engine with continuing development
  
• In an alive and vivid gaming and modding community
  
• Improve and extend the base content with our huge 1.06 community patch

State of Arma 3 version

---

This is still an early version. However it should be fairly playable.

If you get client or server crashes, please submit all required files to BI at the Arma 3 feedback tracker.

Thanks to tierprot the German, Soviet, Polish and US units support the A3 clothing system. A few other retextures are still to come.

Thanks to Shvetz the weapons support the new A3 muzzle flashes, weapon effects and other new features.

Thanks to Fabio Chavez the terrains shine in the new A3 lighting and more to come.

Thanks to Fudge working planes with physX tech.

Thanks to tierprot most cars support PhysX tech!

Thanks to LODU brand new US units!

We will support and continue to improve the Arma 3 version.

So, I´ll ask again here. Does this mean that all the IF Missions and Campaigns are available too? Do IF Features like the improved tank penetration system, adjustable sights on static weapons and tanks, etc work? Do I need the IF DLC?

I literally just purchased Iron Front on Steam yesterday, along with the DLC. I pre-ordered the game as soon as it was available on the BI Store and I really loved it, but was so disappointed that there was no mod support and support for the game pretty much dropped off after a few months.

Thank you very much for your hard work, I can't wait to play it!

Finally released! My IFR team has been helping test the Arma2CO version for the longest time, and then a bit of the Arma3 version, we have been waiting for release.

I think if I recall correctly we have been working on this since April/May Kju?

Deepsilver had us waiting for the longest time before Kju finally got the word of ok.

You guys really must thank kju for his efforts.

So, actually having tested it, I can't get it to run without completely locking up A3.

I do not have the DLC and it's throwing me a US_MK2 error at the main menu. Can't even hit enter and skip that warning.

This is amazing. Despite what people claim, after all the initial bug fixes, and the D-Day DLC, IF was never a waste of money. I'm so glad to see that it is getting the life extension that it so rightfully deserves! Thanks so much for all your hard work!

1 word=WOW and sold love Iron Front! Definatly dl'n TYVM for makin this happen! Also that one huge IF map is HUGE can't remember which map but do i dare say at least as big as Altis if not bigger. one dream i had on that map was rolling across it in M1's etc etc.
