Dwarden 1125 Posted October 5, 2016 @B.Randall it's nice you telling us about you getting crashes ... yet w/o the crash dumps we can't fix those ... it would very helpful if you share .mdmp .bidmp .rpt files generated in moment of the crash so compress those (e.g. into 7zip) and upload to somewhere (e.g. dropbox, google drive) and send private message to me with the url for download + comment some details about what you did when crash happened
Tankbuster 1744 Posted October 5, 2016 @dwarden,would it be possible to include a small application in the game folder that could find the latest crash reports and dumps, zip them and whoosh them off to you all in one click?
Dwarden 1125 Posted October 5, 2016 @dwarden,would it be possible to include a small application in the game folder that could find the latest crash reports and dumps, zip them and whoosh them off to you all in one click? maybe one day in future ... it's doable there're plenty of open frameworks for this
.kju 3244 Posted October 5, 2016 its really crazy - like how much time was wasted by both community people, you and BI programmers and issues taken way longer to get fixed not having this automated since A1 :|
Dwarden 1125 Posted October 5, 2016 we already have automated it via Winqual (and it isn't enough anyway)
.kju 3244 Posted October 5, 2016 obviously the windows system doesnt work well (the windows DB is said to be a mess/no good way to interact with it) and has limitations (just works on stable patch exes if I recall correctly) otherwise you wouldn't ask for manual submissions, right? at times you need to spend some more time to save time in the long run.

CNutter 24 Posted October 5, 2016 @Tankbuster When my game crashes I get the little game crashed info window from the launcher and it has an option to save the crash. It includes all that stuff (rtp's, dumps, dxdiag, etc.) in a .rar file... Then it's pretty easy to just Dropbox them.Doesn't everyone get that popup when the game crashes? Anyway, is it true that nobody at BIS has been able to reproduce the performance degradation bug(s) or any of the relevant crashes? I think I remember reading that from one of the recent SITREPs.I find that really interesting. I think some benefit could come from surveying users who have and have not had the bugs. Perhaps learning the similarities among users who experience these issues could point towards what's causing them and lead to a solution. All I know for sure is that the crashes have gotten more common (for me) with recent game updates, and I'm so paranoid that they'll happen at the worst moment that I can't enjoy playing Arma anymore. They're game breaking.Luckily, they don't seem to happen when I'm playing on my unit's server (no idea why), but I can't play on some of my favorite servers, game modes, missions, without crashing. I've largely stopped playing A3 because of the crashes, and it really really sucks that a fix isn't out yet... Just wish I could do more to speed up the process. Beagle 684 Posted October 6, 2016 Regarding sudden fps drops while starting the game with stable 60fps. I noticed those frame drops when changing post FX settings in game a lot. It starts with 60 (v-sync) and drops to 12 and stays there even in the main screen, when something like ambient occlusion and other AA related things are changed. After a restart of the game its 60 again even with the new settings. I Also noticed a NVidia driver problem with older GPU not limited to ArmA III. I used the ArmA III optimised 362.00 for a long time. After updating to 37x.xx I noticed a general performance drop with my fairly old GTX 760, not only in ArmA III but also Skyrim etc. Reverting to 362.00 solved the problem for me and made ArmA III at least playable again. Im currently using the 1.64 performance binary v3.
KevinJ1 0 Posted October 7, 2016 For SteamCMD on servers, what would the command line look like to to access the profiling branch? app_update 233800 -beta profiling -betapsssword CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3 validate Seems to work, but pulls a pretty large set of files and folders. I was wondering if there was a way to run it to only pull the performance binary for servers, ideally named arma3server.exe so it can be easily used in a script to keep the server on the latest performance branch

It should only replace your serverfiles
KevinJ1 0 Posted October 8, 2016 Did you did a force_install_dir <path> before ? It should only replace your serverfiles Thanks, I tried it with that as well, and still got a pretty large set of folders and files not normally downloaded for servers. Seems like various compiling software, quite a few .exe files, none of which seem to be arma3server.exe

Hypno151 0 Posted October 10, 2016 Hi guys, Really hoping someone here will be able to help me out, since the 1.64 update and subsequent hotfixes, my game's just been freezing as soon as it hits the menu screen, will hang there for about 30s - 1min then returns to normal but it will also do it randomly while playing SP and MP. I've tried numerous amounts of possible fixes including playing with malloc's/re-installing arma/countless gpu driver reinstalls/all the performance binarys found in this post. The only fix i've ever found was when i used DDU to wipe gpu drivers and reinstall the latest driver again. However this has now stopped working as a fix. I've benchmarked my gpu and results are in line with those found online. I've even upgraded from win8.1 to win10 in the hopes that it would have magically solved the error. I don't have any crash logs as the game returns to 'normal' after 30s or so. Not sure what info would be helpful here, i'm running a gtx970 with an i5. Any more info req. then just ask. If someone can come up with a fix for this, then i will love you forever ;)

Vasily.B 529 Posted October 11, 2016 From observations without ANY MOD:- Distance from firefight to AI need to Ai start do something should be decreassed. Right now Ai just stand when there is heavy firefight 450M from them- Ai sometimes just freeze inisde this battle after reaching their waypoint, and just stand, even when there is HMG in front of them (75M) and fire all around.** This is beacuse other bug i reported, with low fences, sandbags, that block vision of Ai standing behind it (vehicle).
