Thank you BIS. Those Mirrors are awesome, and I guess that little Monitor is showing what is behind the vehicle, very handy when going backwards or to check if the convoy is still behind you.

Those Screens are just plain awesomeness.

I have noticed that the soldiers seem to have new animations. Are that already new animations like the player will have them or are they "cutscene animations".

The nightime shots are very impressive, the illumination of the vehicels looks very real.

The sea is just breathtaking, great work on that.

What exactly do you mean by

additional gameplay features

that came up with the new animations? You are not introducing jumping, aren´t you?

They are part of the normal movement animations.

... You are not introducing jumping, aren´t you?

No jumping, just falling. :)

Well at least some news about the "Awesome proj3ct". Hope that some ingame A3 videos will appear sooner or later too. :)

Don't forget to include the Sirtaki + Ouzo! Without this dance + aperitif A3 would not feel like beeing in Greece!

Actually we are. Since the community pays for the game development in the first place basically.

basically? Have YOU paid for anything related to A3 development? Is so, where to, because i want to chip in.

please take an logic test, i am pretty sure you'll fail miserably...

OT: really love the amount of info the blog. happy development BIS

Every time I read "Dan Musil", I read the last name as "Muesli" in my head. :D

Funnily enough, it seems I'm not the only one xD:

Jetzt meldete sich der Projektleiter Daniel Musli auf der offiziellen Webseite zu Wort, um einen kurzen Statusbericht zum Spiel sowie eine Übersicht der geplanten Aktivitäten abzugeben.

So kündigte Musli unter anderem an, dass (...)

Zudem gab Musli einen kurzen Einblick (...)

Zum Abschluss präsentierte Musli noch (...)

Fail.

Also... do NOT ask Google for a proper translation either:

Until earlier this month announced the developer Bohemia Interactive, the release of military simulation ArmA 3 in the fourth quarter of 2012 was postponed. Now the project manager Daniel Muslims reported on the official website for word, to leave a brief status report on the game and an overview of the planned activities.

Is that a spellchecker working before translate? Assume much, Google do you?

Cool quotes:

Muslims for example, announced, among other things, that they would present ARMA 3, both at this year's E3 (5th to 7th June) and at gamescom in Cologne (16th to 19th August).
At the end of Muslims presented a half-dozen new screenshots that show directly including scenes from the game.

The lighting looks effing amazing! Very realistic.

The only thing that's missing are shadows cast by a light that isn't a celestial body. The two night screenies clearly show that headlights and chemlights do not currently cast dynamic shadows. Perhaps this just too much to hope for in a game as large and dynamic as Arma. :(

I hope you are serious in that falling will actually take place rather then "bean pole gravity pull" we have now :p

Pics look absolutely stunning and giving us the chance to playtest Alpha is fooking cream.

Don't know why we are already looking at flaws on a game that won't be out for another eight or nine months.

It's a new lighting engine which uses a new DirectX version previous products did not use. It's bound to have flaws at this stage.

Rest assured, they'll fix. :)

The guy on the right in the picture with the statue has grass or some kind of vegetation on his helmet it looks like.

"What’s a weapon or vehicle in A3 that’s exciting to you right now?

[...]

Crowe: Well, I might just be a little biased from the last project, but right now it’s the Mi-48 Helicopter Gunship. Our community christened it the “Hamok.†It’s big and it’s ugly and it’s all the better for that!"

Excellent. I'm hoping it keeps that name in game.

Indeed he does. As someone mentioned, it looks like there maybe be a custom camo option for helmets, that or it'll be a separate helmet altogether.

I would be happy if light was blocked by all objects, if flashlights worked during all hours of the day. Fixed the main issues with the current lighting engine besides not displaying dynamic shadows on all light sources. Mainly overdone HDR
