jerryhopper 286 Posted May 6, 2010 Dear Bohemia Interactive and it's community, It has been quite a while since i have shown my face here (and everywhere else.) Some of you might remember me from the freaky radio-shows, which were quite popular, and suddenly vanished. Today, im here to inform you what happened with me and the radio-shows, and what is going to happen in the future. But first i owe an explanation to the community on what happened these last years. In december 2008, a few days before newyear i encountered a pulmonary embolism. After quite a while in the hospital, i was able to recover at home with a trainsupply of Oxygen. While the months passed during my recovery, i encoutered an lung inflammation which made the recovery even longer. In july 2009 things went quite well, and just before i could stop taking certain medicines my luck ran out. On july 24th i was taken to the hospital because i suffered from a stroke. ( i dont know the exact english term, but in dutch its: hersenbloeding ) This was directly related with the medicines i got at that time. In the end of August, i was send home to recover. Since then it has been a coming & going to the hospital almost every week. I hope you all understand that since all this my 'head' wasnt really into ArmA anymore. I have tried playing ArmA, and i even bought ArmA2 - but my head wouldnt allow me to enjoy the game - or the computer in general. Right now, things look o.k. for me now. I'm completely recovered and i moved to live with the future miss Hopper. Meanwhile, a lot of things happened in the community. I noticed that some old Battlefield2 friends finally took the step to move Project Reality to ArmA2 ( Hey 'RealFritz' do you remember me?? ), and that the guys at armapodcast.com filled the gap i left behind ( Great job guys! keep it UP! ) So after a two year 'break' im back and eager to start entertaining the community again. In the near future, i will reveal my first episode of the "*******" show. This show will be unlike any show i ever done, and since the podcast-guys cover the 'audio' section in Arma, I have to take things a level higher. For those who hate speculating & rumors.... Regards, Jerry Hopper.

ubermachtig 0 Posted May 6, 2010 Hey JerryHopper, When I saw your post here, I didn't know exactly who you are. after some thinking, and reading the word radio, I suddenly remembered we contacted you a long, long while ago about creating a similar radio station in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Unfortunately, that game was a massive dissapointement and these plans are off the table. I am glad that you're recovering from your problems, and hope they won't return in the future. If I, or any of the team members can do anything to assist you, please contact us. We appreciate the work you've done in the past, and I'm sure we will appreciate the work you'll do in the future. Regards, Ubermachtig, Sir. Polaris and the other former Heroes

Colossus 2 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) Life is bitch indeed. Glad you recovered and 'gefeliciteerd' with the future Miss Hopper. I hope you can re-enjoy your stay. The community has changed over the last few years; true, but I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem. If you spent a day or two with reading community news websites you'll be back in the loop. :p A warm welcome back, Jerry! :) Edited May 6, 2010 by colossus

mrcash2009 0 Posted May 6, 2010 Hi Jerry, Great news that your back and looking to be back with some visual elements Sorry to hear about your problems and health situation mate, that's a real bitch and glad your getting back into the flow of things once more. I did wonder if my Spoofs may have driven people away for interviews ... :butbut: ... as i heard nothing about any new ones. Clearly not the case (phew!) .. so video casts, so many hosting places for video now that its silly and cannot be ignored .. MP4 > Ipod and quick time ... make sure you have a media player friendly version! You ever want or need extra audio elements you know where to find me sir :D
Scrub 0 Posted May 6, 2010 Good to hear you're back, Jerry! You seem to be one tough bugger, pulmonary embolisms (if it was a massive one) are not something you typically 'recover from'. Hope you take a palm tree or something from your Saharani offices to Takistan as a memento, I'll be awaiting your news reels from the war. ;)
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted May 7, 2010 Great news sir. We are all glad to see you come back from your trauma, which life may bring any one of us here. also, will that new equipment bring us some "live out takes"? :butbut:
max power 21 Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) It's good to have you back, Jerry! Your podcasts definitely contributed to keeping me sane during school. I'm glad you have recovered! It's a shame that these things kept you from enjoying things you had come to love. I remember that you were doing some broadcast for the benefit of children as well, I think. Were you able to complete it? Edited May 7, 2010 by Max Power
Laqueesha 474 Posted May 7, 2010 Welcome back Jerry! You probably don't remember me, but I was a member since early 2007, but lost my account during the forum transfer in 2009. In any case, it's really great to have you back. Get well soon! :D
cjph 0 Posted May 7, 2010 Puts minor issues and complaints about the game into context. We should enjoy what we can, while we can. The community is richer for having you back m8 - the next toast is to the return of the Hopper.
