[frl]myke 14 Posted December 20, 2009 Looking for people interested to be a bridge between our issue tracker and this forum thread though, as expected, it is very hard to get everyone to use the tools given My very personal problem with dev-heaven is, i feel lost there. As it says on the frontpage: "DevHeaven is a place for experienced devs to learn, share, discuss and collaborate or people willing to work hard to become skilled as well." Me as being an "Average Joe" i'm in trouble to find anything helpful or navigate to the site i could/would need. Surely a "Dev Heaven" but also a "Users hell". But i have to admit that the problem is related to my low skills. I'm just not the target audience for this site.
sickboy 13 Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) Well dev-heaven itself is intended for what you describe. Its wiki and information store is setup for that, it's the mission. However, all that is required in this case is a user account at dev-heaven, and only use the tracker for the ACE project :) So registering, activating your account by email, and moving to the ACE 2 project, issue tracker; http://dev-heaven.net/projects/ace-mod2/issues (Activity and Roadmap can give you an overview of what is going on) Is basically all there is to it. A new issue you can create by clicking the New Issue button. Don't mind the rest, unless it is of interest to you etc :D Edited December 20, 2009 by Sickboy

That's a good idea I think a lot of people are having issues though because they are editing the wrong config file. sickboy 13 Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) @Adam, the voice thingy must be done in ArmA 2/Userconfig/ACE, and set+saved while the game is not running, verified working. Where are the 3rd party installation methods listed??? Would appreciate if i wasnt ignored, thanks.armaholic.com hosts them amongst others.Otherwise use "Search this thread" for the term: "Yoma" or "YAS". In any case we are in the process of updating instructions. NEW 2 Minute Video on how to get A.C.E Mod running. (Make sure you have the latest setup) Basically: Install Six Updater Suite Run software, enter: 1 and press enter button Once in the webbrowser, Click on Main, Select "A.C.E Mod" preset, and click "execute". You can also pick the "A.C.E. Mod (A2 Beta)" preset if you like the official ArmA 2 Beta Patch. You can also pick the action: "Install or Update and Startgame" before you hit execute, and you will immediately start the game with the right parameters after update procedures have completed. substitute 10 Posted December 20, 2009 Nice mod! Big thanks to the devs for their hard work. For some reason the key bindings stop working when I resume a previously saved mission. This seems to be in the bug tracker already so I'll just mention here that I have the same problem. Procedure is: 1. Start a new scenario -> keys work 2. Suspend and go back to the main menu 3. Resume the mission -> keys don't work My parameters at the moment are: -profiles=profiles -noSplash -noFilePatching -mod=beta;@ACE;@ACEX;@CBA;@JTD
jasonnoguchi 11 Posted December 20, 2009 @substitute, could you close the game, go back to your desktop, start up ArmA2 again and then resume that same saved game that keys don't work again and let us know what happens please?

adamdf 10 Posted December 20, 2009 Sickboy, sorry i was just annoyed with it, do you need to create a userconfig folder in the arnma 2 directory? and then copy the .hpp files from @ACE into that? i understand that is confrimed working, i just wanna know why it aint working for me, even though im doing what the instructions and countless users on this forum say to do. [frl]myke 14 Posted December 20, 2009 Quote from ACE2 BIWIKI Page about the EASA Module: There is no relation between pylon order displayed and location on particular airframe. This is due to the limitations of information in these models, not ACE2's fault. Hopefully a list of pylon locations for aircraft can be documented at some point as an aid to this. Some time ago i tried to introduce a new standard which adresses exactly to this issue. Sadly it wasn't followed further since my lack of dialogue making kept me away from releasing something nearly useful. However, if the ACE2 would pick up this system and support it (optionally, not replacing the existing) i bet a lot of Addonmakers would make use of this System. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=75310
jw custom 56 Posted December 20, 2009 I tried searching but gave up due to 1000's of posts in this thread. A question: The "No Stamina" module is it supposed to disable the stamina system? If so how does it work? I tried just adding the module, no luck. I tried adding the module and synchronize it to the group leader, no luck. I tried synchronize it to all units, no luck. Evil_Echo 11 Posted December 20, 2009 Is there a single player mission available which showcase all of ACE 2s features? tcp 10 Posted December 20, 2009 It sounds like someone should make a youtube tutorial on how to use windows explorer and notepad. It's not just this thread that gets bloated and messy, this must be the most (ab)used official game forum ever and Bohemia doesn't even prune old topics AFAIK. ubermachtig 0 Posted December 20, 2009 Hey guys, First of all, ACE 2 is very impressive, challenging and really adds a more realistic feeling to ArmA 2. Especially the gun sounds are amazing and way better then the sounds in the original. Unfortunately, I've encountered a small bug, and would like to notify the ACE team about it. (that's where a beta is all about, right?:D) I was running around for a long time to get to the next village to capture (Warfare mode). After a small time, my screen started to flash black and back to normal, constantly repeating itself. I'd asked around in the game text chat, and was informed that this flashing came because I was out of stamina. Eventually, I got killed, but even after I died the flashing continued about 3-5 minutes. I was hoping that the next update could reset this semi-blackout feature after being killed. (I'm not entirely sure if this is an ACE 2 feature, although I've never encountered it in ArmA 2 vanilla). Keep up the good work:)
OutLord 10 Posted December 20, 2009 Try this next time you have graphics anomolies Press together, Shift and numpad Minus keys (nothing hapens). Then type "flush" and press enter. ---------- Post added at 07:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:16 AM ---------- ACE and Benny's warfare is a great combination but I've noticed that even with countermeasures enabled Jets now seem to have no chance against surface to air missiles. Could you guys please make the SAMs a little more forgiving. Merry Christmas to all.
maturin 12 Posted December 20, 2009 A question on stamina: does blacking out mean sustained periods of unconsciousness or simply falling down and being unable to move for several seconds? Because I have experienced the latter while trying to sprint the Utes runway with a heavy load. The reviled stamina system, which I expected to dislike because of its heavy-handed nature, seems very reasonable so far. I can run almost endlessly with a rifle and a light load of ammo, but taking a SMAW with three rockets and M16 clips on top of that leaves me winded and blinking after 800m uphill, forcing me to walk. And do any jets come equipped with countermeasures by default? I expected to find them under weapons but did not.
