someboy 0 Posted August 20, 2009 I was performing some testing and the new beta patch definitely solved my mouse lag problems. It now feels a lot more responsive than before. Now it is possible to shoot at moving targets with a good degree of accuracy. The weapon movement still carries some sort of inertia, but just to a level which I feel is the correct balance between responsiveness and realistic. I didn't suffer (or at least perceive) any of the mouse jerkyness described by others in this post. Specs: Win XP Pro SP3 AMD Phenom 9850 (4 cores, 2.5GHz) Ati 3870 512MB Logitech G9 laser mouse Running at 30-45 fps Thx BIS for the effort.
ShaiCZ 10 Posted August 20, 2009 Read through most of the pages in this thread and it seems to be all about the mouse lag issue and mouse smoothing....I'm wondering if there have been any improvments in performance and in the COOP Campaign? Totally agree. I read through both the log and forum and I am not even going to install it as none of the things listed has ever been a great deal for me. Hoping they add something to fix the PERFORMANCE, especially the horrible slow-loading textures (?).

-GLT-Sarge 10 Posted August 20, 2009 the new mouse "smoothing" sucks. Nothing but stuttering Logitech MX400 Laser, issue with and without the Mouse Software installed. 80 FPS feel like 15.

Potatomasher 0 Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) New beta patch 58834 works fine. Now the smoke grenades are actually useful again. This 5 pages long mouse lag or smoothing or whatever nonsense is hilarious... I was perfectly satisfied the way it was in the beginning. I hope some other guys are now satisfied also... Hopefully BIS has now time to look out for improving the performance and other more important tasks. Oh and thanks a lot for this beta stuff. Very nicely done from BIS letting us try the new builds soon as they are ready. Edited August 20, 2009 by Potatomasher

This 5 pages long mouse lag or smoothing or whatever nonsense is hilarious... just because you dont seem to have the problem it doesnt mean its hilarious nor is it nonsense. sandzibar 0 Posted August 20, 2009 2x9800 cards in SLI (with all drivers up to date) still makes me crash every 10-15mins. Sounds issues are gone now i think. No crackling at all from what I could hear. Looking good so far. If only i could play for longer than quarter of an hour :/
calo_mir 10 Posted August 20, 2009 I never had any performance problems with the game, but the 58814 beta certainly makes the initial streaming of textures/objects much, much faster here. The view is entirely rendered by the time the Receiving... screen fades out, as opposed to things still popping into few half a second after.
cossack8559 10 Posted August 20, 2009 Can't download with Chrome  Works with IE though :)
Xenios 0 Posted August 20, 2009 It seems that chopper pilots can no longer lock on to ground targets in this beta. I can lock on to enemy aircraft, but not any ground vehicles. I was also hoping the AT missiles on the Hind would work now in the beta (they always miss in the current regular patch), but I can't even test it, since it's impossible to get a lock. Also, gunners still disobey orders and switch to the least appropriate weapon at the most inappropriate time--switching to machine gun right when you're attacking a tank, switching to unguided rockets right when you're targeting an enemy jet. GLeek 10 Posted August 20, 2009 BUG: if you add a barret (glasses class) on your player profile , and play sniper , the barret is over your default helmet.
_Hurricane 0 Posted August 20, 2009 I love the new beta patches. They've fixed the CTDs I was having!! I also think the game performs better overall. Any other improvements noticed by anyone?
Yoma 0 Posted August 20, 2009 A small note for people using AddonSync2009. The correct and blatantly simple way to launch the beta is to simply add a modset that contains the "beta" folder. There is no need to select a different exe or whatever, just launch using the beta modfolder.
rowdied 44 Posted August 20, 2009 (edited) [58815] Fixed: Enemy kills made by player using stolen enemy vehicle are no longer considered as friendly kills. Only works if hosting. Tried on my dedicated server and you still get minus for enemy kills if using stolen enemy vehicle. I should add that I used the beta as a mod folder in the shortcut for the 1.03 dedi server. cossack8559 10 Posted August 20, 2009 Any one noticed that you can play the beta patch without inserting the game cd? I like the beta patch so far...

fabrizio_t 58 Posted August 20, 2009 Thx for the patch and the beta program. Now i hope to see some major issues fixed soon (see: http://dev-heaven.net/projects/cis/issues). I did not notice any real performance improvement compared to v1.03. Maybe i have to test it more.
