KeyCat 131 Posted April 23, 2010 I think those of you waiting for competely new sound samples of everything is hoping to much. Personally I will be happy if the new sound engine fix the issue with sounds cutting out etc. when lots of sound sources becomes active. /KC
TheCrusader 10 Posted April 23, 2010 ^ This. BI needs to do the engine, the community will provide the samples :)

BF2_Trooper 0 Posted April 23, 2010 Anyone else find it strange that the Brits would actually sit this conflict out? Usually when there is an operation that involves NATO supporting US forces the Brits would always likely be part of that supporting force, wouldnt they? Barely-injured 0 Posted April 23, 2010 ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead features in full: • New Playable Content: New story campaign for both single and multi-player gameplay. Wide range of new tutorials, single scenarios and multiplayer modes. • Massive Game World: Three brand new Central Asia-style large maps including expansive urban, desert and mountainous terrain, featuring a fully destructible and interactive environment. • Extra Units and Vehicles: Multiple factions for all sides including US Army, United Nations, Takistani Army and Guerrillas making a collection of 300+ new units, weapons and vehicles. • Ultimate War Simulation Experience: Fully integrates with the original ARMA 2 for unmatched warfare simulation. • Unique Gameplay Elements: Detachable backpacks with equipment, advanced weapon optics, material penetration modeling, remote real-time simulation of Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAV), freedom of decision and repercussive actions. Even though it was mentioned by some of the devs before, having it confirmed officially like that brings warm feelings to my heart :D Thanks BIS
Laqueesha 474 Posted April 24, 2010 Anyone else find it strange that the Brits would actually sit this conflict out? Usually when there is an operation that involves NATO supporting US forces the Brits would always likely be part of that supporting force, wouldnt they? Yes they would, I'm surprised that the Brits and Aussies are not in this game, even though Land Rovers are. At least Germany is in the game, although we do not know to what extent, if they have armoured units, or just special forces. If you want Brits and Aussies, there are a team of modders working on them, and they are very high-quality. But back on topic here, I think I remember seeing Yanks with British accents in one gameplay video for Operation Arrowhead a while back. But maybe this is just a bad choice of voice actors, like Captain Dressler. *shudders*
AnimalMother92 10 Posted April 24, 2010 I think it's less to do with realism and more because BI are Czech as well as being a nod to the large German community next door ;)
snoops_213 75 Posted April 24, 2010 What i'd like to know is "featuring a fully destructible and interactive environment." really does mean? What we set a bunch of satchels and boom hole in the ground?
Laqueesha 474 Posted April 24, 2010 I think it's less to do with realism and more because BI are Czech as well as being a nod to the large German community next door That's what I thought at first; makes the most sense to me. What we set a bunch of satchels and boom hole in the ground? Well, yes. We have explosion effects on the ground such as craters.
Steakslim 1 Posted April 24, 2010 What i'd like to know is "featuring a fully destructible and interactive environment." really does mean? What we set a bunch of satchels and boom hole in the ground? It'll be the same as Arma2. Though maybe they added more various damage models to the buildings and such, who knows, I wouldn't expect too much from from thing in that regard. 11aTony 0 Posted April 24, 2010 I just saw trailer on gamestar.de. Not that I understood anything (subs would be appreciated) but it was nice to see some game play:). Anyway, at the end it shows some german soldiers and I heared him say "man is history". Ermm... I hope they will speak german in full game like russians do russian in ArmA2, etc. Would be nice instead of them talking english. That way you have feeling its just another skin instead of other army then US. Otherwise game looks really great. I really like new features, which are needed badly in A2. Keep it up BIS. Black0ps 0 Posted April 24, 2010 this sounds like a dumb question and I did try and use search but anyway because its a "stand alone" expansion, will ArmA 2 not get ANY of the new features? Kind of seems unfair unless the change in gameplay is comparable to vanilla arma 2 to ACE. If BIS dont, will modders be able to port some things back to ArmA 2? enad 11 Posted April 24, 2010 this sounds like a dumb question and I did try to use the search function but why would you NOT be buying Operation Arrowhead?;)
Black0ps 0 Posted April 24, 2010 this sounds like a dumb question and I did try to use the search function but why would you NOT be buying Operation Arrowhead?;) hey I never said I wouldnt eventually buy it :D, in fact the answer to my question would be a why or why not I dont buy it when it comes out. Lhowon 10 Posted April 24, 2010 hey I never said I wouldnt eventually buy it :D, in fact the answer to my question would be a why or why not I dont buy it when it comes out. I'm not 100% on this but they have said this (in the press release): • Ultimate War Simulation Experience: Fully integrates with the original ARMA 2 for unmatched warfare simulation. So I'd assume you can use everything in ArmA 2 in Arrowhead (including maps I guess?) so it's a non-issue. If I'm right you can use everything from ArmA 2 with Arrowhead's features (though they might not be fully working, like FLIR). If you just want the stuff ported back without having to buy Arrowhead then frankly get real ;)
jonneymendoza 10 Posted April 24, 2010 i heard the game now has fully destructible enviorments? Like bad company 2?
AnimalMother92 10 Posted April 24, 2010 I doubt it will rival BC2, but it's supposed to be "improved" from the Arma 2 level of destructibility.

Fox '09 14 Posted April 24, 2010 Bah destructible model in BC2 is bad. Building collapse always in same way... ArmA 2 isn't much different :p i probably should read the entire article.. but the 29th is the EU release or what? cause I hate waiting an entire month for a game to come out in my country :(

SASrecon 0 Posted April 24, 2010 i heard the game now has fully destructible enviorments? Like bad company 2? In the video they said that the buildings are fully destructible. "various houses will receive a somewhat more detailed damage-model, although not as dynamic as bfbc2" is kinda what they said ;) Unfortunately the ARMA2 engine doesn't allow destruction of the ground, so it's not fully destructible 'per-se' but I haven't seen destructible ground on any other game so... I'm so happy that all the buildings are enterable :p ---[edit]--- btw can someone tell me what the huge sight on the gun is at 1:54?
